San Salvador has much to offer in the form of a very safe environment for couples, families. They are an abundance of stores, coffee shops and places to eat traditional Salvadoran or other types of food. During certain hours and in certain areas, traffic can be overwhelming. Using applications like google can help you navigate around the city as some streets do not have the name of the street posted which is a big issue that needs correction.

Safety it's a plus, feels secure and walk freely at anytime (Zona Rosa and Centro Historico...) Many places and different cuisine styles at affordable prices to choose from... Transportation it's ease using private or public service. Always use common sense to avoid dangerous situations like carrying a lot of cash large denominations...

The traffic is kinda bad, and a lot of public places like roads, walls, and parks can benefit from paint, but the local government is improving a lot of places, the facilities, and the security. I hope with time it keeps improving, for now, it's an OK site to pass on the way to nearby beaches and mountains.

It is a much safer city now in 2023 and people frequently talk about the sense of peace they now feel pretty much anywhere in the city and the country in general. Salvadorian people are kind and customer service oriented by nature. The beaches are nearby and a must see when visiting the capital for a short stay.

It's a very safe country, the people are nice and educated. There are many historic places to visit as well as shopping malls with international chains. In the capital I saw at least 4 different Starbucks, for instance.
The food is tasty and cheap. Uber service is very functional in the city.

Nothing much to see in San Salvador, but you can do day trips from there to the volcanoe and the routa de la tour which are highlights of the tour. Its not easy to get around El Salvador if you dont have your own car and definitely a driver with English speaking skills if your spanish is not good.
For its price, location, and quality this place is a gem. I was traveling through the San Salvador region and this place was by far the better of the pack. It also has all the amenities (one of the few) that you need but would have to pay for in others like an iron, working WiFi and safe. I would definitely make this my base hotel for future visits also because it’s centralized in one of the best neighborhoods and close to the US embassy. Everything looks cleans and feel new.
The location is in Escalon, the best colonia in San Salvador. Beautiful area, close to restaurants and shopping areas like Gran Vía, but also easy to get out of town and head to the volcanoes and beaches! Having the complementary breakfast was perfect to get us going every morning. Also, the staff couldn’t be more polite. Every single time we saw a staff member, they asked us if we needed something. Exceptional customer service.
It was a well maintained hotel, in a safe and convenient area of the city. It is located on a quiet side street. The staff was very helpful. The guy working security was particular helpful, friendly, and efficient. The owner or manger speaks fluent english so that that is helpful if your Spanish could use some work. I would have no problem staying here again, and plan to do so when we return to San Salvador.
Beautiful hotel, with a decent restaurant and a great cafe in the courtyard. Ismael in the executive lounge was fantastic- friendly and helpful- and Roberto in the restaurant was also wonderful, and he makes the best lattes! Everyone was very friendly to our two year old daughter and made us feel very welcome. The views from our room were the best part!
exactly what I neeed after a week travelling through Central America. i enjoyed the hotel very much, room was excellent and the shower was so nice! the balcony was also a great touch. the lady in the morning is super friendly and the breakfast menu was good as it was fresh made to order
Staff were friendly, spoke English (uncommon in El Salvador), beautiful modern decor and lots of different areas to hang out within the hotel and close to a relly nice shopping area. Felt safe the whole time. Likely one of the best places to stay if you're looking to stay in the city.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff - I checked in late evening due to my flight time and the night staff couldn't have been more helpful.
This theme continued throughout my stay and I would recommend this hotel to anyone else staying in San Salvador
This is the most amazing boutique hotel experience. Beautiful grounds, great bar, wonderful restaurant. The bar staff were amazing. If you want a fantastic cocktail made with amazing attention to detail then this is yor spot.
The property is centrally located with bus stops right outside. The staff are very welcoming and try their best to help you in anyway to help make your stay in San Salvador as memorable as possible.
By far, the best hotel in San Salvador. And the restaurant Il Bongustaio is also the best restaurant in san salvador. Very customized service, quality of the food, and perfect service.
We enjoyed this was our second time we stayed at hotel fotherhouse we love the location the spacious rooms and the view...nice breakfast to finish up our stay.
I got confirmation from booking dot com.when i arrived at hotel, they did not confirm and could not stay. Iwas forced to look for another hotel in midnight.
Breakfast was Okay. This is a house converted into Hotel. They charged me $10 for using debit card. Price of the room was high as per property condition.
The area where the hotel is located. Easy access to stores, bus stop and restaurants. I did like that the lady who cleaned my rooms did an awesome job.
