Travelling to Samui I was really disappointed with the snorkelling, luckily I had spare time at the end of the holiday where I hadn't booked & we took a 3 night trip to Koh Tao. It had the best beaches in Thailand in my opinion. Sairee beach had great restauarants, the Thai people were amazing (although this is the same wherever you go in Thailand). Getting around you really need a moped, which might put some people off.

A few days is nice here as it is a small island.
A few days is nice here as it is a small island. Great for diving and snorkling. However:
- The coral is dead unfortunately, the few turtles are harrassed by tourists and are not treated nicely, Shark bay is owned by a resort and they profit from the tourism to the sharks. I advice to stay away from this part.
- The island is not genuine Thai culture experience anymore but overrun by tourists unfortunately (March 2024). In the town there is not a spot without a scooter and party places. Weed places and stores everywhere and Western food. I would not recommend the town to people looking for culture, for genuine Thai experiences (except some restaurants) or for a quiet holiday if you stay close to town. Go look for accomodations far from the town centre and you will have an amazing time though (Jungle, freedom beach etc.)
- Scooters are for experienced people only, we saw too many crashes/falls and people with severe injuries. It is really not worth it to rent a scooter if you do not know how to drive uphill/mountains and on the left side. If you go for it, wear at least a helmet and your children too. So many people with babies? and little kids? without a helmet, like are you really risking that?
- Most of it you can just walk, walk or take a taxi if you are unknown with scooters

Our villa with own pool was the best.
Our villa with own pool was the best. If you dive and you are in your 20s you enjoy the place a lot. If you are older, it’s quickly seen.
Sairee beach area is not my place . Other parts of the island I did not see; difficult to go around.
I missed vegetables to eat on this island but fresh fruit shakes, I loved. Local food was cheap but delicious especially seafood.

Koh Tao isn't the biggest of islands, you can hire scooters but some of the island is different to access via scooter.
We stayed in Mae Haad and there are plenty of restaurants/bars to choose from some of them being beachfront.

The roads to many places are insanely steep.
The roads to many places are insanely steep. Two people on a rental motorbike could not make it up some hills. We are not heavy people and a couple times one had to get off and walk. Alternatively if you think your going to taxi everywhere bring a large stack of cash. 300-400 THB each way, everywhere you go and that''s an 8 min drive. Islands pretty small. Best to have a rental motorbike for each person but even that was to scary for my partner. Also this island is really all about diving and partying. Excellent if that's you jam.

Scuba Diving is great! People friendly! Cheap prices!
Scuba Diving is great! People friendly! Cheap prices!
Be careful of yellow ants. They are everywhere and will invade your room if not careful. They bite and leave big marks that last for days and are very itchy.
The hotel was right on the main walk so you could get to everything really easily. It wasn't exactly beachfront but close enough. There were plenty of restaurants, bars, entertainment, massage places, even got my nails done. The taxi is 300 baht to get to mae head Pier if you want to take a snorkel cruise or go diving. I personally can't ride a motorbike but everybody else did so they were able to do some more exploring than I was. I still would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to be right in the heart of everything
Firstly, I’d like to say how nice and helpful the staff were. They picked us up from the pier and when leaving arranged a car for us, whenever we had problems with our scooter they helped us and they were extremely nice throughout our stay!
The room was great, bigger than what we originally had in mind, and very comfortable. just 3 minutes by scooter from Sairee beach, and we got it cleaned every day while we were gone exploring the island. We will definitely come back here again 😌 best stay I ever had.
It’s well positioned in between the pier and Sairee Beach, and arranged around two pools that lead down to ocean. No beach, but easy access into the ocean and great snorkelling. I saw three octopuses right in front of the hotel (night snorkel). There’s no restaurant or bar in the hotel, but so many nearby that it doesn’t matter. Staff were friendly and helpful. Bed was super comfy and the room large. I had an upstairs room and the balcony is large and affords a great view.
The hotel is close to the port (5 min walk) and also close to Sairee beach (one of the most famous beaches in Koh Tao) and lot of nice restaurants, bars, and SPA massage places are around 10 to15 min walk.
Lot of interesting programs and tours are suggested by the hotel (diving, snorkeling, bike renting …). The personnel in the reception are kind.
The room is good : spacious with a very large bed (more than king size I think).
Lovely boutique hotel with natural charm. Slightly off the main road so was surprisingly quiet which was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and the room was very tidy. Good location to local eats and just a 15 minute walk for us to our dive centre in town. The staff were also very helpful with great suggestions for food, taxi and massage services. Lovely cafe and food as well! Would definitely stay again!
The room was clean and comfortable. The location was nice and in town where the action is. The beach was perfect to watch the sunset. The pool was nice and good lounge area to sunbath. Motorcycle rentals were everywhere easy to get around. The free transport from ferry to hotel was so helpful and the free ride back to ferry. The front desk was always helpful and accommodating.
One of the best locations we have ever stayed in!The incredible views, the infinity pool, the spacious villa, the Tv had Netflix,we could order food which was delivered within thirty minutes,we rented scooters of reception.
Paradise to relax in and come back to after our days scuba diving.
The villa is in amazing location...only five minute ride to sairee beach or the pier
Best hotel during our Thailand holiday. Friendly and helpful staff. Large and clean room. Excellent location 5 mins drive or 20 mins walk from the pier. They also refer to a very professional taxi driver Mr Koh who provides fair rates and is very responsive. The cafe offers tasty breakfast options and the best coffee on the island. Staff always has a smile.
The Manager was 100% there to help at all times and with any subject, we got picked up with our arrival at the island and were offered a room to sleep in until official check in time. a free ride to the pier every morning left at 8:30 am. The laundry service was quick and cheap, and the location of the hotel was close to everything. Really an amazing stay.
Peaceful and quiet hotel that’s also walking distance to the beach and restaurants. Comfortable room with AC, window, balcony and mountain view. The staff were friendly and helped me with snorkeling tour, motorbike rental, laundry, and transportation to Hua Hin. Reasonably priced. Highly recommended!
We fell in love with this place. We felt at home the moment we stepped in thanks to the warm welcome of Nil, his wife and the amazing women team. Incredible views, probably the best food on the island and such a joyful atmosphere. Thank you so much. This place made our stay in Ko Tao extra special 🙏
A very, very nice hotel! Located right on Sairee Beach, but the noise from the nearby clubs hardly reached the room.
Please note that room cleaning is on demand, you need to give the key to reception by 12 noon if you want the room cleaned.
The water pressure in the shower was excellent.
the location is for me one of the best on the island, if you like to be in the center where the heart is beating. shiny happy people, the most active and walkable beach is, with the most beautiful sunset.
the restaurant is amazing and the stuff top motivated on every point of …..
Great location on the main street where everything happens (restaurants, clubs, etc). You can hear some music at night but it stops around 11pm/midnight. Nice secluded beach, and very close to Sairee beach, one of the most popular! The room was clean
I stayed in a private room and it was nicer than most hotels I’ve stayed at in Thailand. Spacious, clean & modern design. The staff was very helpful and I also did their one day scuba and loved it! Would highly recommend staying here.
This hotel is set on a beautiful section of Sairee beach. Close enough to walk down the beach to restaurants and bars but is so calm and peaceful at night. We had so much fun renting SUP boards and exploring the area.
Amazing view, most modern and new place we’ve stayed in Thailand for this price - was blown away honestly. Nicest view I’ve ever had from a hotel - the tree outside is magical!
