Cheweng is extremely busy, very loud, traffic non stop,...
Cheweng is extremely busy, very loud, traffic non stop, walking difficult as pavements very small and uneven and the road too busy to walk on. Prices for food and drink expensive for Thailand. There is however plenty of choice for eating and drinking and for people who want a full on party experience type holiday they certainly won't be disappointed! Beach was very nice however often it wasn't there due to high tides.

Chaweng is a bustling town with some fantastic restaurants offering the most fresh and beautifully presented Thai, and other nationality food you you could want. We stayed 14 nights and ate somewhere and something different each night - all cheaper than McDonalds! Happy hour at any of the many bars and clubs is whatever hour you are there, which makes for a perfectly priced night out!

Having lived in Lamai for a year and been to Samui many...
Having lived in Lamai for a year and been to Samui many times I find Chaweng perfect tempo for a holiday.
Some may find it a bit noisy and adult themed when arriving but after a couple of days you were feel at home and realise it is part of what makes Thailand unique.
Chaweng would be the UK version of a 18-30's holiday but my latest visit was the first as a family and my love for Samui only grew after not being back for 4 years.
The Thais love children and go out of there way to help you with little ones, in fact most of the time you need to ask for them back as they go off and show all there friends etc
If you want more relaxed Lamai is more chilled, if you want more of a european feel stay in and around Fishermans Village.

Probably the liveliest part of Koh Samui.
Probably the liveliest part of Koh Samui. The nightly street market behind the mall is brilliant. Good for shopping and some decent restaurants catering to international tastes.
Good place if you enjoy the drinking and partying scene. “Brits Abroad” style town with loud nightlife, tattoo and weed shops everywhere, etc. We did see many families there too.
The town is walkable but taxi travel on Samui is excruciatingly expensive - most pricy we’ve found in Asia so far.
This was our first port of call in Thailand. We walked into the room and there was a beautiful welcome display on the bed. it was on a gorgeous bit of beach just far away enough from the busy bit that it wasn’t loud at night. The little Cabin/Villas are so cool and tasteful. We arrived into Koh Samui so late it was almost midnight when we got to the hotel and we hadn’t told them we would be so late but they still managed to have the security guard at the front let us into our room which we thought was excellent of them.
Staff were very friendly, always smiling, hard working and quick to please. Breakfast was amazing.
The ‘luxury’ bungalows were roomy and very comfortable, as was the king size bed. The pools were great. The water was warm. No problems getting sun beds at the pool or at the beach. There were half a dozen decent restaurants within a 5 minute walk from the resort. The restaurant at the resort was also quite good. We ate there twice.
Wonderful Thai massage on the beach by the resort.
We usually stay in the quieter Lamai beach but decided on Chaweng as Koh Samui was only re-opening after Covid and we guessed (correctly) that Lamai would be too quiet this time. Chaweng can be a bit noisy but the hotel was a perfect retreat. Nice room, lots of swimming pool options, great location on the beach, excellent housekeeping, great breakfasts and above all, fantastic staff. Prices were lower than usual this year, I just hope we can afford to stay here again next time!
The resort is beautiful. It has a private beach. Everywhere you walk around the hotel, all the staff would greet you. They are all very friendly here, which makes you feel so welcome and special . The housekeeper cleans our room twice daily, and the pool is always clean. Breakfast is very delicious, they have a different choices every day. I don't normally write reviews but this is one of the best place in Koh Samui. I would definitely come back to stay at this resort
The property and resort were beautiful. We really appreciated the food as well—it was some of the best Thai breakfast we’ve had in Thailand. They also have western options.
The 2 pools were very nice to swim in, with one literally on the oceanfront and both with bars.
We had a complicated schedule with several tours and flights but Boom at the front office was so helpful in making sure we could do all the activities we wanted while keeping our bags secure.
Breakfast was standard but the location of the breakfast bar and the hotel at chaweng beach was really good! When you enter the hotel, your first impression may be that the entrance area seems old etc, but our rooms were spot-less and very comfortable. We absolutely loved our stay at Samui Resotel! You must rent scooters to really enjoy your stay in Koh Samui as it is a very enjoyable and cheap way to commute!!
The hotel facilities are new, hotel is beutifull with kind service and personal all around, many pools of all kinds, the breakfast is remarkable! Probably the best in Koh samui hotels. Cleaning level is very high, no doubt a great high standart hotel with all the goods you can ask for.
7 min drive fron chaweng area (250 Bhat)
Many beutifull places for pictures with infinity pools and gardens.
We arrived Koh Samui early morning exhausted after an overnight flight and the reception staff were wonderful - making it possible for us to freshen up and find a cool place to relax by the pool whilst waiting for our room to become available. They also did their best to ensure an earlier check in even though the resort was fully booked.
The massage was also excellent!
Not enough words to describe our amazing experience. Congratulations to the whole team and Centara!
Room, hotel, amenities, service and food. Everything is excellent. Attention to details such as surprise of the day, a birthday cake, is amazing too. It shows that this resort is really 5 stars. The Sunday brunch at salt society is incredible too.
Casa de Mar's access to Chaweng Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Koh Samui, was perfect for us, as we could spend the day by the pool and then go to the beach and use the hotel's kayaks.
The restaurant serves good thai food and Casa de Mar is perfect to relax for a while and reload in Koh Samui.
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. Everything is on walking distance like Central Mall, Chaweng beach, clubs, Market etc. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting KOH SAMUI.
Highly recommend Als resort was upgraded from standard to deluxe no extra cost staff or so friendly and accommodating room is very clean and spacious swimming pools are amazing and it’s on the beach everything you need for a great holiday
