Very close to the airport, 10 min by car, perfect for the first few days on the island or the last few prior to departure.
Next time i will stay the first 5 days here to get off the jetlag, and the last 2 day before heading out.
the ferry to koh phangan is, depending on the hotel, in walking distance.

More than a couple of nights here is enough as there is very little to do at nights. If you get a motorbike though it becomes one of the best places to stay as everywhere else is within an easy journey.
The hotel restaurants are generally better than the established burger/pizza/steak places. Not saying they're bad but there there are better available. There seem to be fewer local Thai eateries around than used to be the case however the ones that are there are pretty good. Discovered a lovely little cafe/restaurant that I thought at first was purely Vegan but caters for all tastes and the food is all healthy and stuff...not a bad thing after a night on the beverage of choice.
The other thing you should be aware of is that now cannabis has been legalised there are shops and "cafes" everywhere...even a very nice "up market" restaurant that has a full a la carte menu of cannabis infused food in addition to the standard menu items...interesting concept.
To sum up I do the bookends thing, couple of days at the start and end of the Samui trip as the airport is just around the corner...works for me

Staying at U Samui right on the beautiful Bangrak beach was fantastic. Very relaxing and if you get too warm you can have a swim in the sea.
Eating in U Samui restaurant was lovely good food with a great view over the sea.

Bangrak Beach is certainly not the nicest area on Koh Samui but it's conveniently close to the airport and the Bangrak Beach Pier to take the ferry over to Koh Phangang. Therefore a good place to spend a night if your flight arrives/departs too late/early for the ferry to Koh Phangang.

Bangrak is a nice place.
Bangrak is a nice place. The beach is not the best around but you can walk on it. The Bangrak road us busy with traffic and people drive too fast on the approach to it. It’s quite dangerous road and you have to be careful when crossing. Thus also makes it not very peaceful or relaxing.

The best thing that comes in mind is that the location is close, by car, to some important sightseeing, such as Golden Buddha, the Grandmother and Grandfather Beach, the Fisherman Village (2 km, the latter), the Waterfall 2 park, as well as to some of the greatest restaurants on the island: Coco Tam (best beach setting and great food), Jungle Club (the best setting, and amazing view with high quality in food), Suppatra Dining (probably the best dining on the island) and Dr. Frogs (great view, but the food did not met our expectations). The Central Festival Shopping Mall is also close, as well as the airport of Samui, that looks like a cartoon (my favorite airport in the world now).
You can drive easily by luxurious van limo at very decent prices. We had the services of Mr. Tee recommended by the staff of our hotel, the Scent Hotel. He was decent, professional and very polite and he uses WhatsApp.
There are beaches that appeared to us very intimate, like the one from Scent Hotel, or simply gorgeous beaches like the ones between Lamai and Chaweng.
Nice location, just a hop by scooter from Fisherman village (get a scooter at Junglewheels nearby, they are super trustworthy!), two pools to chose from (we preferred the back pool, more quiet, and less warm), rooms are clean, all with a feature (pool view, balcony over looking, sea view..), and what is rare is a breakfast selection you will not get tired even after 10 days staying there. Of course people, staff, manager, all are really nice to accommodate, help, advise… just a great Hotel to stay for a while and unwind !
3 swimming pools and right on the beachfront, couldn’t ask for more. Room felt very private as it was its own bungalow, with a good amount of room inside as well as a small table and chairs outside. 2 good restaurants within the hotel, as well as many more nearby within walking distance. Rooms were cleaned every day with fresh towels and bottles of water. Planes not an issue at all, they’re quite infrequent, and watching them take off and land never gets old. Excellent value for money.
We had a beach front room which was absolutely amazing. The room was spacious with plenty of room for a couple. The staff were friendly and would do anything to help your stay be a great one. Nice location with pharmacy, plenty of restaurants and a 7eleven nearby. 30 min walk from Big Budda. Private taxi, scooters available through the hotel. Food served throughout the day.
The bungalows and grounds are clean and cozy, the location is PERFECT away from the business of Chaweng beach. Lots of places to eat, 7-11 across the street along with a grocery store, liquor store and dispensary. The private beach at the hotel is heaven. The staff was great and very helpful. Thank you Augustin!
Good location in a calm environment. Nice villas and rooms with a pool and a direct access to the Bangrak beach (feeling of private beach). Many restaurants, bars as well as a 7/11 shop around (at walking distance).
Kindness and dedication of the manager (Jay) and her staff during the stay.
The hotel is fantastic, rooms are super good, pool and view are amazing! But what really stood out was the staff! Nanny has been stellar, made everyone smile by her presence, focus on customer satisfcation and experience!
5 stars!
Very friendly hotel. My parents stayed as booked late and couldn’t get into our hotel (two doors down) Very basic rooms, and could do with a freshen up / modernisation. Very clean - had people in to clean room daily which is nice.
The pool and the gardens were amazing, staff very helpful and close to the ferry to koh phangan.
The only thing that wasn’t nice - a bar outside the hotel had blasting music until 02.00am… that was really bad, otherwise all good.
Absolutely loved my stay here. The hotel is fabulous and the staff were amazing. They went above and beyond to help me out. I only wish I had booked to stay more days. I will definitely return with my partner.
The location of the hotel was good. A beachfront with not too much noise or disturbances from outside.
The staff was also very helpful. Additionally, they provided a good shuttle service to the airport.
Such a wonderful cozy hotel! Very comfortable, quiet and clean room. Nice little balcony with beautiful beach front view. Owner was kind and helpful beyond words! Highly recommend
Great family run hotel directly on the beach in perfect location. Room was large with a comfortable bed. I would highly recommend this hotel and I will come again.
Great location, 5 min walk from the airport. Very friendly staff, and most amazing noodle restaurant right near the hotel. Great choice if you have an early flight
The infinity pool and the view from the room was excellent. The beach was nice and very quiet. The location of the hotel is perfect and easy to find local food.
