A couple of good eating options that offer takeaways for one to carry it back to the sunbeds and eat there. It is close to a street lined with juice, coconut, fruit, miscellaneous vendors. Great beach, several stall with fresh coconut juice and smoothies. Beach with white sand and merely clean water. Size just right - not too long or short. Can rent an umbrella for extra charge or lay in the shade of nearby trees. Beginning of the beach has many boats standing but further it is calm and quiet.

Raw sewage was pouring directly to the beach on the south side of Kata beach! That's totally unacceptable. We only went there once and left immediately after seeing this situation. Good thing we went to several excursions and got to enjoy clean beaches elsewhere.AAnonymous - 8.0Scored 8.0

Kata Beach is a great beach - on Phuket.
Kata Beach is a great beach - on Phuket. It has good samll waves for part of the year - for swimming, surfing, SUP, snorkelling off rocks. It has an indoor wave machine too, across the road. Many cafes along the main street and a great night market too. Food is a bit dearer but on par with other Thai tourist spots. However, just up the road the food prices drop significantly... ie 60 baht for a great meal! The beach is large, but some areas can and do get very crowded. Go early or late and miss the crowds! There is a lifeguard on duty at peak times. Very enjoyable beach - transport is plentiful or you can walk to most places.davidAustralia - 8.0Scored 8.0

Kata Beach is a lovely long beach and lots of bars and restaurants in the area. The water is clear and nice for a swim. However, it is very crowded and people are trying to sell you things on the beach all the time.

I gave my 8-year-old daughter the option of moving to the Centara Grand as they had water slides but she actually said that she didn’t want to leave because she loved the staff here so much. We can’t thank you enough for making our stay in Phuket so lovely. And of course, Pam the hotel manager greeted us on the first day and each time we saw her with warmth, which was also lovely.

It could have been faster as the beach is literally 20-25 meters away but access is blocked by the MedClub resort so you have to walk around but thats fine as we anyway needed to go buy some water and snacks on our way to the beach. Staff is very kind and helpful in all matters. Hotel rooms are very comfortable, modern and clean. Such a pleasant experience and we are definitely coming back to this hotel next time we visit Phuket.

And let's not forget the fabulous food and beverages with great dining area. The rooms are spacious and well appointed with large comfortable beds and a decent TV selection for rainy days.

Close to trailhead to walk to the Big Buddha or take transportation. Would definitely return here in the future.

Staff is very attentive.
