Really enjoyed the night markets and stalls along the river. All sorts of food cooked in front of you. Excellent Hallal restaurant around corner from our hotel , clean and well presented food. Trip on long boat to caves and mangroves worth seeing. Watch who you book with on river. Only disappointment was the trip we booked from Krabi to Koh Lak.Do not use Yat Hai Tour vans.! Very dangerous driving, tailgating other cars. Then passed in area of very tight corners. Nearly a head on crash. Friendly place many places to eat. Great night market over weekend and daily food market where you could eat very cheaply. We visited the mangrove trail and climbed the tower for a nice view and then crossed the river with a long tail boot to see a nice cave and to see a bit more of the riverside and the driver got us back into the town. Our hotel had this name and was ideally located in the center. Very clean and neat and most helpful staff! Beautiful BuddhaTemple, The river side promenade, mangrove forest, boat rides and tours, Food joints and massage parlours, Thai curry and Pizza were very good, Singha and Chanh beers were good too. A trip to Ao Nang was awesome

Next time would stay in Railay. town was nice, but only for a couple days. And be careful with the elephant trip, the one I did as part of a kayaking tour, I had thought would be the ethical sanctuary, but it wasn’t, it was the other one, and the elephants were chained up, and standing with the Howrah on their backs. Wasn’t happy about that. Maybe specify when you book the tour which sanctuary you want to go to. Also, kayaking was great, but that lagoon gets jam packed full of shouting tourists who can’t steer a kayak. I went in afternoon, next time would either go in the morning, or even better, rent a s outer, go yourself, and you can book a kayak without the guide. The hotel is near food markets, restaurants and port where you can get the boat to the near small islands. For laundry, mortbikes, tours to islands and any other services you can ask in the hotel and they will kindly help you. They even helped us to realize our dream of having a Wedding in Thailand. They have found the wedding planner, photographers - everything what we wanded. The owner and her family are amazing persons and we will definitely come back next time.

It is insane… motorbike a day for 200 baht, but they are so casual about it, no scam, no paperwork -just relaxed. We had a huge room, nice shower and comfortable beds. The personal is so friendly! Sadly we could not stay longer because they were booked out -and we understand why!
