We really liked the historic part of town - the Ribat is beautiful (with a great guide!). The archaeology museum is definitely worth a visit. The souk was an enjoyable pace and you didn't feel hassled. The restaurants were good. Taxis were cheap and easy to find.
City could do with a big clean up and shows clear signs of suffering financially, but that didn't take away from our trip.

I found Sousse to be a great place to visit if you're looking for a peaceful and relaxing vacation. I was pleased to discover that the local people were friendly and welcoming, which made my trip more enjoyable and memorable.
One of the highlights of my trip was having a hire car, which allowed me to explore the surrounding areas and discover hidden gems such as the castle. It was fascinating to learn that the castle was the location for the popular movie Monty Python's Life of Brian. This made my trip even more exciting and memorable.
However, it's worth noting that if you're looking for a bustling city with lots of activities to do and places to see, Sousse may not be the best choice. From my experience, Sousse is more of a laid-back destination where you can unwind and relax.
Overall, I had a positive experience visiting Sousse and enjoyed exploring the surrounding areas. Thank you for taking the time to read my review!

The area is beautiful.
The area is beautiful. There are so many activities to do there. The transportation system is excellent and very affordable. You can walk almost everywhere really, but if you are lazy like me, you can either use your phone to order a Bolt taxi or just flag one down on the road.

I used Sousse as a base to travel to other parts of Tunisia by train and car. If you wanted a beach / resort hotel to just chill then this would be an excellent choice. If you wanted more exploration of the history and culture then Sousse is a little limited and I think would "do" all the local things in 2/3 days.

Sousse has a lot of history for a not so big town, walks around the winding streets medina is a real pleasure, forget the main way, try following the walls enclaves where people live and go shopping. There are ateliers shops there and you can see what their projects are. Visit the archeological museum, it is housed in a nice building and has a few interesting treasures. Walk on the beach, it is very relaxing.
The house is huge. Appropriate for two families maybe - 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, a very spacious living room, a kitchen and a laundry machine.
We really enjoyed the luxury of having such a space (we were just two people). The garden is also cute. The architecture of the house is also very interesting. The neighborhood did not have many things to do, but you could have the basics - atm, market etc
A big mall is 10' drive from the house while the city of Sousse is 10' drive on the opposite direction.
Toutou is a delightful host, great communication | property is a gem, nice sitting area, lovely courtyard, functional kitchen | solid WiFi, hot shower, towel, locker | enjoyed my clean, private (single) room with air/con | it's an intimate place to stay, really enjoyed the company of the other guests | neighborhood is unique, witness life in Tunisia | while the location is not close to the medina, share taxi is convenient and only one dinar |
We stayed at this fantastic hotel for two days. We added an extra night. Both the employees and the environment are immaculate. The manager was really considerate in giving us a discount for our young daughter. I appreciate Marhaba Beach. I suggest the location to any family seeking a pleasant vacation.
The meal selection in the kitchen was excellent, especially the steak and the fish. The chief was quite cordial.
I love the friendly staffs, the location, the city/beach front view, the breakfast, the security measures taken, the spa, the outdoor pool, the clean beach and its clear water, the beautiful/comfortable room, and just an overall wonderful experience.
This was my first time in Sousse or in Africa for that matter! I'll definitely be back agian!
Thank you for providing me with a great new experience!
We enjoyed our stay so very much, the hotel à la carte and beachside restaurant is impeccable, the pools are great and the rooms beautiful and location is perfect. A special thanks to Oussama the life guard and the waiter Khalifa. They went out and beyond their way to serve us.
Almost all the staff was wonderful. And the lunch and breakfast buffet was delicious too.
The staff was super friendly & always greets me with a smile.
The room was clean and furniture in excellent condition.
The hotel's location is excellent, in the old city center, close to the train station and most vital areas.
Definitely I’ll back again whenever I visit Souse again.
Front desk was helpful, especially Haroun who helped me greatly; excellent breakfast with so many Tunisian and international options; loved the fresh squeezed orange juice at breakfast; comfortable bed, complimentary large water bottle provided daily

Good contact with the host.
Easy access to the apartment.
Great breakfast restaurant nearby.
So far, the best place we have stayed in Tunisia.
Excellent! We had a comfortable stay and enjoyed the charming guesthouse. It's all beautifully decorated and has much more character than any corporate chain hotel along the beach.
Great place to stay. My second time in Sousse after a year ago and my second stay at this hotel! Well located, clean rooms, helpful staff and good breakfast! Thank you!
