This hotel was easily the most luxurious of our month-long stay in Tunisia. Once we stepped through the large decorative door from the Medina, we felt we entered a magical world. From the stunning architecture, to peaceful courtyard garden with birds singing, the spectacular rooftop view of the Medina and Kasbah from the restaurant and outdoor seating, the Hammam / Spa, the endless beautiful art works throughout, to our enormous and beautifully appointed rooms.

You must head to the Medina. It is a maze of narrow streets and packed with shoppers. The stroll in there alone is an experience.
Expect to be pestered a little but just walk on if you don't want to be invited into the little shops to buy something. It's a fun experience.
Try a Brik. It's a fried doughnut which is just delicious and cheap.
The people are generally incredibly friendly and curious but be aware of the odd gentlemen who claims to work night security at your hotel and starts to accompany you around the medina. This happened to me 3 times by 3 different men. They have the same story.

Tunis is a great place to experience Arab culture tempered by French finesse. It is easy to get around the city on foot, tram or taxi. Lots to see and do. It is also not far from other amenities and historic sites.

The medina is an interesting way of spending a couple of hours with a nice cafe above where you can look over Tunis. Taxis are the best way to travel around and there are plenty. Lots of places to eat. I think as a tourist in Tunis you just need to beware of
being ripped off by being over charged at almost every point. Other than that it’s a very interesting place to visit and actually very cheap!!

Tunis can be a gem for a visit in itself and a great starting point for day-trips to other destinations within easy reach. Some caution should always be in order when walking around the city, trying not to stand out like the tourist who has just arrived that very morning and taking care not to show any valuables.
Taxis are great to move around, as they are incredibly cheap, and the drivers are usually honest and helpful.
Do not hesitate to try the food of even some less than glamorous establishments, as you will often find excellent dishes there at a very low cost and with very hospitable hosts.

Tunis is a vibrant city with a rich history dating back to...
Tunis is a vibrant city with a rich history dating back to the 2nd millennium BCE. The city has been controlled by Phoenicians, Romans, Arab Muslims, the Ottomans, the Spanish, the French, and the Germans, finally achieving independence as the capital of Tunisia in 19561. The medina is a network of narrow alleyways, mosques, mausoleums, palaces, and a souq where shoppers haggle over the price of everything from filigreed gold to inexpensive souvenirs1. If you’re looking for places to stay, eat, or things to do in Tunis, you can check out the reviews on Tripadvisor.
I hope this helps!

Tunis is beautiful city which has many ancient places specially in Carthage ancient city and old city of Tunis(Medina) and the beach of La Marsa small town near Tunis and Sidi Bousaid blue buildings and many other scenes of city.
The hotel is in a great position to visit the Medina; everything was clean, beautiful and very confortable.
Breakfast was plentiful and good. The staff was exceptional: everyone made us feel like home. We had dinner at the restaurant on the panoramic terrace twice because we loved it! A special mention to chef majid: he talked in perfect Italian and helped us in countless ways. They also arrange an early breakfast at 5 am because we had an early flight. If you are in Tunisi, you must stay here!
Just stayed one night and all was fine. The location is ideal and the room was clean and quiet thus the Carlton was a great choice. I had an early flight and had only 10 minutes for breakfast but luckily it opened at 6AM. I wish I had more time, the breakfast spread was far beyond expectations. Airport transport with the hotel's vehicle is very, very reasonable, only 20 dirham for a dropoff and 30 for a pickup. When I return to Tunis this will again be my choice.
First, this hotel is nestled in the absolute heart of Tunis‘ striking Medina. Second, the staff are incredibly kind and helpful — they were always there to assist with a smile and made us feel 100% comfortable and cared for. The rooftop terrace is great, the library is a great touch and the breakfast is lovely. This place really does feel like the whole package and a great way to discover Tunis.
Room was spacious and clean. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful with traditional lighting and mosaiques, and there are great facilities onsite (spa and restaurant). I had a massage and a hammam - both of which were relaxing and reasonably priced. The food at the restaurant was delicious. The staff are lovely and very accomodating. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Tunis.
Everything, good price for central location hotel close to Everything, staff very helpful and friendly, always be there when you need help, despite almost hotel room in Tunisia they dont have a kettle, but the hotel always offer you free coffee tea latte cappuccino you named it, tasty breakfast too, will be stay again next time when i come to Tunis

Beautiful hotel with a smell of roses in most public areas. Nicely decorated rooms.
Amazing breakfast (actually the only good breakfast I had in Tunisia) on the hotels rooftop terrace.
Located in the medina close to the Zeituna mosque. Most of the medina is dark and dead in the evening but around the hotels a few cafes are still open and crowded. Awesome!
The place is newly renovated, and everything is good, it’s centrally located at lac 1 which is accessible to all of Tunis, very near to the airport, la marsa and downtown tunis, everything is great, however the best thing in this hotel is the staff, the friendliest I’ve seen in all of Tunisia’s hotels, Wajdi was very helpful and welcoming.
An absolutely beautiful hotel just outside the medina. Lavish walls, lavish surroundings and an amazing rooftop. While the WIFI wasn’t the best, the staff were caring and helped us out with our stay enormously. Would recommend to anyone who wants to spend their time in Tunis in a beautiful, old, grand house.
We loved the Carlton hotel in Tunis , The staff were amazing -really friendly and polite throughout the hotel went out of their way to assist , the breakfast was very good and tasty , excellent location , our room was clean and comfortable.it exceeds my expectations for three star hotel .
You can’t find better located hotel in Tunis, both for business and leisure purposes. The staff were amazing. They went extra miles to make our stay as smooth as possible. Thanks Mr Hassan and Mr Lotfi. They speak decent English and they genuinely had best of their guests in their harts.
The best hotel I’ve ever been privileged enough to stay at while I’m in Tunisia, Adam Hotel suites and it only gets more breathtaking when you walk in. High quality rooms and high quality service. Also, big thanks to Marwan always making sure I’m getting the best stay.
I have stayed in a suite of the Majestic hotel with my family. The suite is beautiful, bright and clean with large windows and charming furniture. Very comfortable beds. Perfect location to visit Tunis and reach the airport and the train station.
The hotel is situated not far away from the airport and quite close to all atractions in Tunis. The room was okay, clean and comfortable. The staff was super amazing, helped in all means.
