Taichung is kinda my hometown, the weather is nicer than Taipei and Kaoxiong. Life expense is a little cheaper than Taipei. It's easy to get to parks, shopping malls, very convenient for travelers to walk around either by buses or on foot.

I think there are many interesting places to visit in Taichung. Its a city in transition i want to visit it in 5 years or so again to see where it's at. But probably won't stop here again till then, nothing any other city doesn't offer. WIth that said..... great place to do a day trip for specific things... If you have 2 days to spare visit and plan your day so you won't waste time. Restaurants open late, they definitely move at a different speed with many places closed Wed. If you are vegetarian or vegan great places to eat here. Do Uber eat my Taiwanese friend used it all the time. Great Museum and right next to the museum don't forget to eat at the restaurant the home of where boba tea was created. Their breakfast is more than average. Their dinner buffet is fantastic and great value (if convert to my home currency). Highly recommended!
