Taichung is kinda my hometown, the weather is nicer than Taipei and Kaoxiong. Life expense is a little cheaper than Taipei. It's easy to get to parks, shopping malls, very convenient for travelers to walk around either by buses or on foot.

Taichung has many great cultural places, entertainment and food is top notch as well!
Only down side is the that traveling around taichung is not so public transport friendly as it's so huge!
I did not get to go to quite a few other places with the days i spent there, will head back to continue exploring again!

I teach English to Taiwanese adults and was fortunate to have two of my students (on different days) take me to places they wanted to show me. I think there are many interesting places to visit in Taichung.
Since I was in a car with locals, I can't really say what the public transport is like, but from my view, it seemed like there are buses and metro trains everywhere.

The National Theatre is an amazing building to see, look for the "nose", the "eye" and the "ear", as well as the facial profiles in the butterfly pictures on the walls on 1/F.
Miyahara Ophthalmology clinic is another place to visit in Taichung.

Its a city in transition i want to visit it in 5 years or so again to see where it's at. But probably won't stop here again till then, nothing any other city doesn't offer.
WIth that said..... great place to do a day trip for specific things...
If you have 2 days to spare visit and plan your day so you won't waste time. Restaurants open late, they definitely move at a different speed with many places closed Wed.
If you are vegetarian or vegan great places to eat here. Do Uber eat my Taiwanese friend used it all the time.
Great Museum and right next to the museum don't forget to eat at the restaurant the home of where boba tea was created. If you're into boba its a must-go!

Taichung is a less westernized city than Taipei.
Taichung is a less westernized city than Taipei. What I like is the stimulation brought by different cultures, rather than the standard plagiarism and imitation. I don’t think other cities are better than Taichung.
Can be easily spotted when going to Taichung MRT Railway/Terminal. The place looks very decent. Has a nice ambiance when entering the hotel.
When we were nearing our hotel room, we noticed the air purifier/humidifier.
We also have a small fridge to store our drinks and foods. There's a hair drier as well as cups for water.
I remember feeling comfortable with their beds. My friend and I were pleased to see our room.
I'd like to thank the receptionist for welcoming us and explaining things for us, very professional.
Location: Convenient. Just next to the Taichung Railway Station, which was the reason why I chose this hotel, as I had to take the train again the following day.
Bathroom: Bathroom was clean and big enough (considering the room size was small).
Small balcony which you could look outside, although the view wasn't great.
Breakfast: There was a good spread of chinese dishes (rice/porridge, meat, vegetables etc) and international (salad, bread) with coffee/tea/soya drink etc.
Breakfast although simple & not so various but it was homemade like food. Like it.
The room is clean too and there is toilet with bidet.
It's located in quite surrounding & ambience. Few restaurant or family mart around there but it's near Taichung second market & Miyahara ice cream. There is a bakery next to the hotel. You can try it.
The best part is that there are many international-type electrical plug in the room so no need to worry for charging.
Just the best place during my 12 days in Taiwan. Taichung always has better accommodation at reasonable price compared to other cities, but this hotel is even better than my other stays previously in Taichung. Great staff that tried hard to communicate and be helpful. Nice looking room with decent facilities (a bidet!! spacious room!) at a great location - central and close to all attractions but not rowdy at all.
From the beginning of checking in, the staff was excellent. Ordered a full dinner for the family off the in room dining menu. The food was exceptional. We ordered everything from a club sandwich to beef noodle soup. Compliments to the chief. Beds were comfortable and checking out was painless. I can easily understand why this hotel was rated 5 stars.
A very aesthetically looking hotel with spacious and comfortable rooms & friendly staffs to make you feel like home despite being in a foreign country! The room was clean, spacious and nice too. Staff shared many recommendations with us and were very helpful. Netflix and Youtube available was a plus too 🙂
Most of the hotel is good. The rooms look nice, and there is good view. The facilities are good. If you are in Taichung for traveling and experiencing the area, there are lots of buses that will go to different destinations just outside the hotel. The place is very convenient for a short visit.
No frills, clean and comfortable rooms. Courteous and efficient staff. Good, central location; convenient to the Taichung train station and Taroko Mall. A good gateway stay for travels into the spectacular central mountains of Taiwan.
Location of the hotel is superb, just within walking distance to Fengjia Night Market. Room rate included breakfast and the overall stay worth the value. Will stay in this hotel again if I return to Taichung.
It was convenient spot, there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel. Lots of places to eat nearby. The Taichung mrt station was only around 5 min walk away. The hotel was clean and comfortable.
There is a great transportation-friendly location near Taichung train station. The hotel is exceptionally clean👍👍, and they offer complimentary coffee and breakfast for your enjoyment.
The breakfast is pretty good. Offer various kinds of food, Western and Taiwan style. They both tasted good. The location is great! Very closed to one of the stations of Taichung MRT.
the staff are helpful, the location is just a few steps to Taichung TRA station, healthy breakfast, facilities are neat, and Taroko mall is just beside the hotel.
Room was super clean!
Common area in level 12 has good snacks, tea and coffee. The view was the best part as the hotel is in front of Taichung station.
