Great little hotel in a very green and luscious old villa a bit outside the center of Moshi. There is a hospitality school on site and a very servicable vegetarian restaurant, also run mostly by the pupils (girls) of the school. The pupils are boarding in a seperate building on the site. If you are lucky there are views of mount Kili from the terrace / restaurant. Apparently the property used to be an orphanage, but it does not show. The rooms are spacious and luxurious. There is a generator for when the power goes out. It's easy to grab a bajaj to the center, if you walk 1 minute from the entrance.

An excellent choice for staying in Moshi! Clear views of Kilimanjaro from the top floor and very nice, comfortable rooms. The property owner, Gabriel was very helpful and attentive in making sure my stay was an enjoyable one. The food and restaurant service was very good. Exceptional value for money here. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to others and would stay here again on a return trip to Moshi.

The weather is great - quite cool at this time of year.
The weather is great - quite cool at this time of year. The town is clean and well labelled. It is a small town so its very serene and has little traffic jam. I consider it a great stop-over if heading to Dar es salaam by road from the Kenya side.

The club vibe is amazing.
For Touring around and climbing Mt Kilimanjaro, i recommend Fred's trekking and safaris. They are the best.

It's a busy but friendly city, I was grateful to not be driving myself anywhere. Taxis are very easy to get. It helps to have someone local who can help you navigate. The food is great and the people are kind.

Leafy town on the southern slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Leafy town on the southern slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The town itself does not have a real center, just a tacky sculpture of Mt. Kilimanjaro in the center of a roundabout.
However, if you stay a little bit outside of town then you can enjoy the unique location.

There is a lot of really nice restaurants(indointaliano is one of the best) and the view of Kilimanjaro is amazing. Moshi is the best place to find a company which will take you to the summit of Kilimanjaro. You can also do day trips from Moshi to Materuni waterfalls or Kikuletwa Hot Springs.

There is absolutely nothing to do in Moshi and is only good if you do a tour or two and hike Kilimanjaro. When you are done with those, get out! The do have a Regional Immigration Office that will extend your visa for 30 days if you need it.
Bru Bru Lodge is an immaculate property with warm and welcoming staff. The rooms are simple, clean, and have individual air conditioner units and the included breakfast is wonderful. We stayed at the lodge before and after our Kilimanjaro climb and it was a welcome comfort after a week on the mountain. The restaurant onsite has great options and Lulu was a fantastic server who we loved chatting with each meal (we had 8 meals onsite!) I’d highly recommend staying at BruBru during your next trip to Moshi. I would gladly return anytime!
A new place located in a very quiet rural area a few kilometers from Moshi, the perfect hotel to recover after 6 days trekking Kilimanjaro. Lots of laundry (clothes, shoes and even my backpack), all taking care in a few hours.
Gabriel the owner, together with Patricia and the team are all very friendly. Probably the best place I have stayed since the beginning of my trip in Africa 6 weeks ago. If you are unlucky to find the place fully booked, come at least for a drink in the garden and a meal, for sure the best in town !
My stay was honestly quite bad. As I arrived, there was no running water at the room, no electricity, the WiFi connection didn't reach the room, the toilet was in poor condition. The first solution they offered to me was to change me to the Double Room, which was 7$ more expensive than the one I booked. I was quite annoyed. The facilities I was missing were totally basic, and they wanted me to pay more for something that should be granted.
The only good thing was the terrace and the staff (as always in Tanzania <3)
Ameg lodge is a great spot, situated about 20 mins walking from the mad town of Moshi. It's off the beaten track, but really nice inside. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, always with a big smile on their face and a willingness to help! The pool is really great, and if you're a gym buff, the gym is fantastic - kitted out with old school Technogym Gear and equipment. It was empty while we were there in November and had the entire place to ourselves (though, it was incredibly dusty!).
Dee made her place our favorite spot in the whole Tanzania! He and Pete just made our stay exceptional! The place is super clean, cosy, comfortable.. we had a movie night together and cooked together (by the way she's an excellent cook!), She was our guide to see the most beautiful parts of surroundings of Moshi. Dee became more than a host, she became our friend!
We even saw a Kilimanjaro from her garden on our first morning!
Love that rasta couple! Nothing more to say.
I had a fantastic experience. I was delayed to check-in but the hotel was good enough to keep my reservation. If you willing to pay more for the Kilimanjaro Mountain View rooms the view is amazing!!!!!! I highly recommend. I had dinner at the restaurant, food was really good. All staffs were extremely professional and helpful. It was very comfortable. Location is top-notch. I would recommend to stay at Kilimanjaro White House hotel when visiting Moshi.
This hotel offers best value for money. Actually it’s unbelievable value for money. Amani is manager and he’s super helpful. I asked him where can I get simm card and he actually asked a guy to come to the hotel where he setup simm card in my phone. There are other staff members who always help customers with a smile on their faces. This hotel is one of the best options in Moshi.
The manager Peter and staff were excellent. The accommodation was great! The surrounding gardens are beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay. Breakfasts were excellent with plenty of farm fresh veggies and fruits. Would highly recommend this place. It is a few km from Moshi town but we didn't find that to be much of an inconvenience as tuk tuk driver was always available.
More Than a Drop is both a bed and breakfast, a restaurant and a hoteling school providing young women in the Moshi area with a way out of poverty. As such, the staff was wonderful and the meals, while simple, were lovingly prepared. The sheltered courtyard was a great place to relax from the heat and hustle of Moshi, with a view of Kilimanjaro when the weather cooperates.
The ambiance and the place is just fabulous! Please consider coming here if you would like to have some time off, on the Kilimanjaro slopes and discover the wonderful Tanzania mainland.
The coffee tour was AMAZING with Doctor Coffee!
The safari with Shimbwe is very much recommended!
The owner, Deo, went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay at Pazuri. He stayed up past 11 PM to greet us upon arrival and prepared a 5 AM breakfast when we required an early departure. The hostel was simple but will perfectly fit anyone's goal to explore Moshi.
Backyard Moshi is an amazing place! It is so tastefully decorated with a vibrant vibe yet so calm and relaxing.
Comfortable, clean, and welcoming✨️
I totally recommend this place and definitely my first option next time I am in Moshi again!
Thank you!
A haven of peace. This is really the best place i stayed in tanzania, I would have stayed longer if i could. The breakfast was awesome. Simba also arranged me a tour to the waterfalls for a very good price and got me the best coffee in town.
Thoughtful design in the rooms and the terrace. The staff were friendly and helpful. We booked short notice for only one night because we were unhappy with our previous hotel- this was half the price and more comfortable too! Good breakfast.
The location was perfect! I could walks down the block to my early morning bus departure and we had a view of Kili! I ordered traditional Tanzanian dinner and it was DELICIOUS! Breakfast was lovely as well.
best coffee we had in Tanzania - host has the proper espresso machine which together with fresh beans is a perfect combination!
discussions with Karim were sooo interesting and he is quite a personality
The place is quiet , great place to unwind. Near Moshi town - can access restaurant & other facilities. The breakfast is awesome- variety & fresh fruits
