The weather is great - quite cool at this time of year.
The weather is great - quite cool at this time of year. The town is clean and well labelled. It is a small town so its very serene and has little traffic jam. I consider it a great stop-over if heading to Dar es salaam by road from the Kenya side.

The club vibe is amazing.
For Touring around and climbing Mt Kilimanjaro, i recommend Fred's trekking and safaris. They are the best.

It's a busy but friendly city, I was grateful to not be driving myself anywhere. Taxis are very easy to get. It helps to have someone local who can help you navigate. The food is great and the people are kind.

Leafy town on the southern slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Leafy town on the southern slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The town itself does not have a real center, just a tacky sculpture of Mt. Kilimanjaro in the center of a roundabout.
However, if you stay a little bit outside of town then you can enjoy the unique location.

There is a lot of really nice restaurants(indointaliano is one of the best) and the view of Kilimanjaro is amazing. Moshi is the best place to find a company which will take you to the summit of Kilimanjaro. You can also do day trips from Moshi to Materuni waterfalls or Kikuletwa Hot Springs.

There is absolutely nothing to do in Moshi and is only good if you do a tour or two and hike Kilimanjaro. When you are done with those, get out! The do have a Regional Immigration Office that will extend your visa for 30 days if you need it.
Bru Bru Lodge is an immaculate property with warm and welcoming staff. The rooms are simple, clean, and have individual air conditioner units and the included breakfast is wonderful. We stayed at the lodge before and after our Kilimanjaro climb and it was a welcome comfort after a week on the mountain. The restaurant onsite has great options and Lulu was a fantastic server who we loved chatting with each meal (we had 8 meals onsite!) I’d highly recommend staying at BruBru during your next trip to Moshi. I would gladly return anytime!
A new place located in a very quiet rural area a few kilometers from Moshi, the perfect hotel to recover after 6 days trekking Kilimanjaro. Lots of laundry (clothes, shoes and even my backpack), all taking care in a few hours.
Gabriel the owner, together with Patricia and the team are all very friendly. Probably the best place I have stayed since the beginning of my trip in Africa 6 weeks ago. If you are unlucky to find the place fully booked, come at least for a drink in the garden and a meal, for sure the best in town !
This place and these people are the best! Spotless, lovely, comfortable house. Location away from busy downtown, but close enough for easy access. An oasis of pleasant surroundings. Tina and Mary are the nicest, most thoughtful, helpful people you could ask for. Their goal is to make it feel homey, and it feels homey and luxurious too. They will also arrange rides, tours, safaris, etc. And they will cook for you if you want, or you can use the kitchen. On top of all that, it is very reasonable!
Because I happened to be the only guest there and it was low season, I was lucky to receive a room upgrade from a dorm room to a private room with no extra charges. Although it did feel lonely at times as there were no other guests to interact with. The room was clean. I like that the hostel also offers a tour to the hot spring and waterfall areas at a much cheaper rate compared to other tour offices in Moshi (p.s they're a rip off). And they have a cute paka (cat in Swahili) named Cutie.
We enjoyed the quiet location, it’s a bit outside the busy part of the city. The shower water pressure was excellent and bonus points for good hot water too. The manager is wonderful and has lots of helpful info about the area and the server in the restaurant is also very friendly. The restaurant on the terrace is nice and there is a bar if ppl want to just chill in the evening. On a clear day, you can actually see Kilimanjaro from the street in front of the hotel!
was blown away by the friendliness and honesty of the staff (left 150 USD in the pants pocket and they brought it back to us when they took the clothes in for laundry)
staff went out of their way to assist us- making us meals at strange times at night/ 4am in the morning - food was delicious with generous portions
facilities extremely fancy and neat- everything we needed and beyond - beautiful scenery- my favourite place to stay in Tanzania
We were very lucky the sky was constantly clear when we were staying at the hotel and we could see the summit of Kilimanjaro from the room's balcony and from the rooftop as well. It was just magical and exceptional!! Especially during the sunset. The staff was also welcoming and friendly. They arranged a tuk tuk for our movements in Moshi, very practical and so kind tuk tuk driver.
We definitely enjoyed our 3 days stay there.
Wonderful staff. Aaron went out of his way to make the stay comfortable and make me feel at home. Offering help and advice about moshi. Really nice relaxing feel to the place with a beautiful garden and great views of kilimanjaro. The room was spacious and great value for the price. The breakfast was delicious and enough to fill you up for the day. The area was nice to walk around and was walking distance to moshi town
We stayed here as a treat for our last night in Tanzania - and also our anniversary whilst on honeymoon - and it was just as special as we'd hoped. The deck is incredible with stunning views of Kili (if she's not feeling too shy). Food was amazing if a little pricey for dinner with a fixed cost of 20usd pp but we were treated wonderfully, gifted a bottle of fizz and had a lovely relaxed 24hr stay.
The house is located in one of the best areas in Moshi. It’s very safe and quiet. The house has its own security night guard that lives on the property. It’s a 30 min walk to Moshi Town. Also the area offers restaurants with european standards and good food, bars, supermarkets and even pools. The host is very nice and helps his clients with all their demands.
It was amazing! A home far from home. We felt warmly welcomed by Zach and Ruth. The room are clean but sparse but it doesn’t matter as you will spend most of your time on the terrasse with view on Kilimanjaro. It is in the nature and very green. A perfect place to meet other travellers. I would 100% come back for another stay in Tanzania.
I liked their service, comfort, as well as accommodation provided and tours. They provide different kinds of Tanzania tours like Kilimanjaro trekking, safari and day trips. Myself I did Kilimanjaro trekking 7 days Maxhame route to the summit. I recommend to do any kind of your services with GreenWellness Homes.
Sophie and her family are very welcoming. The place is cosy, decorated with taste and clean. They organised dinner, which was delicious and healthy. The breakfast was also very good, mainly with local products. Highly recommended if you want a Tanzanian experience and meet people!
The owner, Deo, went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay at Pazuri. He stayed up past 11 PM to greet us upon arrival and prepared a 5 AM breakfast when we required an early departure. The hostel was simple but will perfectly fit anyone's goal to explore Moshi.
Probably the best hotel we have ever been in. Super clean, amazing vibes, classy decorations. Thereza was an amazing host and all the workers as well. We stayed for 2 nights and wished we could stay longer! And the best food we ate so far in Tanzania. Thank you!
Amazing house, exactly what one would want before or after climbing Mt Kili. Simba and his staff are wonderful and incredibly accommodating. Good location near to Moshi center but far enough away to avoid the noise. Would happily stay again. Thank you, Simba!
The location of the hotel is good the rooms are clean and the staffs are so friendly 🥰 the also offered a safari and mount climb it was amazing 😉 👊🏿Thank you so much Erasto see you again
the best! room, service, food, etc. is amazing, this hotel needs to be more popular :) the only thing I would change are the prices: I had a soup for 15 USD 😭, but otherwise it was amazing
