The weather is great - quite cool at this time of year.
The weather is great - quite cool at this time of year. The town is clean and well labelled. It is a small town so its very serene and has little traffic jam. I consider it a great stop-over if heading to Dar es salaam by road from the Kenya side.

It's a busy but friendly city, I was grateful to not be driving myself anywhere. Taxis are very easy to get. It helps to have someone local who can help you navigate. The food is great and the people are kind.

Leafy town on the southern slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Leafy town on the southern slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The town itself does not have a real center, just a tacky sculpture of Mt. Kilimanjaro in the center of a roundabout.
However, if you stay a little bit outside of town then you can enjoy the unique location.

There is a lot of really nice restaurants(indointaliano is one of the best) and the view of Kilimanjaro is amazing. Moshi is the best place to find a company which will take you to the summit of Kilimanjaro. You can also do day trips from Moshi to Materuni waterfalls or Kikuletwa Hot Springs.

There is absolutely nothing to do in Moshi and is only good if you do a tour or two and hike Kilimanjaro. When you are done with those, get out! The do have a Regional Immigration Office that will extend your visa for 30 days if you need it.
My stay was honestly quite bad. As I arrived, there was no running water at the room, no electricity, the WiFi connection didn't reach the room, the toilet was in poor condition. The first solution they offered to me was to change me to the Double Room, which was 7$ more expensive than the one I booked. I was quite annoyed. The facilities I was missing were totally basic, and they wanted me to pay more for something that should be granted.
The only good thing was the terrace and the staff (as always in Tanzania <3)
We stayed in this hostel one night, before starting our Kilimanjaro climbing Very good for the short stay. It is more like an apartment with a common kitchen, so you get feeling like you are home Owner was super nice and helpful. Free coffee, tea and drinking water facilities in the kitchen. Bars and restaurants around, so we had no problem to find place to eat. We didnt have time to visit Moshi, but the town is at half an hour walking distance from the hotel . I definetely reccommend, worth the money we paid.
Because I happened to be the only guest there and it was low season, I was lucky to receive a room upgrade from a dorm room to a private room with no extra charges. Although it did feel lonely at times as there were no other guests to interact with. The room was clean. I like that the hostel also offers a tour to the hot spring and waterfall areas at a much cheaper rate compared to other tour offices in Moshi (p.s they're a rip off). And they have a cute paka (cat in Swahili) named Cutie.
Dee made her place our favorite spot in the whole Tanzania! He and Pete just made our stay exceptional! The place is super clean, cosy, comfortable.. we had a movie night together and cooked together (by the way she's an excellent cook!), She was our guide to see the most beautiful parts of surroundings of Moshi. Dee became more than a host, she became our friend!
We even saw a Kilimanjaro from her garden on our first morning!
Love that rasta couple! Nothing more to say.
Convenient to JRO Airport, they picked me up and returned me the next morning (fee). The staff were the best part of my stay, and the room suited my needs. Huge bathroom! Comfortable air conditioning. Bed VERY firm, but I slept well enough. Even though a "roadside, truck stop"' Hotel, it was surprisingly quiet. There is a nice little supermarket at the opposite end from registration. In case you need some snacks. I would stay there again.
That was our first days in Tanzania and that was the best welcome we could ever hope for
First of all the nature in the village is astonishing
Victor, Janet, Honest, Baraka, Justin, Elizabeth, the (best) shef made us feel at home, amazing people sharing folklore stories, day trips, best local food ever! The fire in the evening, and the view of the mountain from the balconies and garden is breath taking
Asante sana
Very nice place in Moshi,5min from city center in tuc tuc. Really beautiful garden and atmosphere. The owner Karin makes the difference, very energetic and funny person 😊,that gave us good recommendations. Bungalows very nice⭐ and amazing outdoor shower. Good value for money and great experience!!! And on top of that, great breakfast with incredible Tanzanian coffee and beachvolley court to play!
Apart of beautiful lodges localized in the Moshi suburbs, this hotel seems to be the one of the best localized in the city center of the town.
Rooms proposed by the hotel has a very different sizes. Bathroom in the rooms and breakfast buffet are basic but nothing is missing. We were extremely satisfied about the service. Everyone was very helpful and kind. Nothing was a problem.
The manager Peter and staff were excellent. The accommodation was great! The surrounding gardens are beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay. Breakfasts were excellent with plenty of farm fresh veggies and fruits. Would highly recommend this place. It is a few km from Moshi town but we didn't find that to be much of an inconvenience as tuk tuk driver was always available.
The staff were super friendly, making every effort to make you feel at home.
Brenda, Mwajuma, Wity and the rest of the staff always were smiling and happy to see me. They are great cooks and the food and drinks are very cheap prices.
Location is perfect for exploring Moshi and they even looked after my stuff while I did Kilimanjaro and safari.
Thank you for everything.
I had a great view to the Mt. Kilimanjaro from my room at this sunny day. Very friendly staff! The pool was super clean like the the rest of the hotel too. Dinner and breakfast was delicious and to sit at the bar is amazing!
All together a very, very nice hotel with a high standard for a good price. Very recommended!
The Hullu Lodge was in a great location just outside Moshi town. The lodge was beautiful, the staff very friendly, lush gardens, restaurant and bar area. Also we get a chance to visit waterfalls near by with their safaris and convinced to take their packages especially that for Zanzibar visitation.
I had a great experience at thise wonderful home in moshi. My room was very neat, when i walked in everything was clean and fresh, the breakfast was so nice. Both the check-in and check-out process was easy. thank you will stay here if I’m ever in Moshi town again
The best hotel I have stayed in Tanzania.
The room makes me feel like home.
The people there are very helpful and friendly.
The breakfast they offer is very nice and delicious.
The host Simba is very nice to offer help.
I will come again next time.
View from the hotel is amazing. Greenery and village surrounding the hotel is excellent. We also had some exotic birds visiting our room balcony. Overall a recommended place to stay in Moshi.
Location is perfect, its less than 5 minutes walk to Moshi Town, grocery Market, Supermarkets, connecting to the place is easy coz of the availability of Tuktuk ( Bajaj) and Motorcycle.
The puppies were so friendly and the staff made sure me and my mom were comfortable and taken care of! We were so tired after the safari we appreciated the peace and quiet of the hotel.
I liked the site and the garden. It is a very beautiful hotel. Nice place of learning for young adults wanting to work in the industry. The food is also good.
