During our short stay, we had the pleasure of experiencing exceptional hospitality from Arumina, Luqman, and Judith. Their warm and welcoming nature made our time there truly wonderful.
From the moment we arrived, Arumina greeted us with a genuine smile and offered us a refreshing welcome drink. Luqman efficiently checked us in and provided all the necessary information about the facilities and nearby attractions even though there was an error on dates booked. Arumina attention to detail and eagerness to assist us in any way possible made us feel instantly at home.
Luqman, the concierge, went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and convenience. Nice room choice. He patiently answered all our questions and provided insightful recommendations for local restaurants and activities. His friendly demeanour and willingness to go the extra mile made our stay even more enjoyable.
Judith, the housekeeping and admin staff, maintained our room impeccably with help from housekeeping. Every day, we returned to a spotlessly clean and well-organized space. Arumina even took the time to arrange for little room defects.

Try to avoid this city if possible!
Try to avoid this city if possible! They have nice pictures of some areas in travelling brochures but this is like 5% of the toal city. Mostly this city is heavily broken roads, mud-walkways, overcrowded, traffic jams and polluted air. When flying to Tanzania try to be it that city not too long. Fly or drive away to your next destination ASAP. And remember - prefer to use (locally represented) agency when travelling longer distances in Tanzania. If something happens with the vehicle (sooner or later it will happen) you have someone who might help you or at least worries about you.

I liked the outskirts of town - 1hr away from the airport...
I liked the outskirts of town - 1hr away from the airport was where I spent most at. The main city was a bit overwhelming and stressful at times, i.e. police officers hunting after foreigners and questioning your presence etc. I had two occasions where I was stopped just like that and the officers asking heaps of questions like where you come from, what your travels purpose was, what do you do, and if you're married (I'm a female solo traveller). I answered all the questions succinctly & clearly. However these officers just somehow would find ways to make it go longer than necessary. One even accused me of not having the right document (I was like what do you mean with the valid passport and visa?!). Anyway, he wanted to take me to the police station and court of law. I had a local driver with me who talked him out of it by giving him some shillings. And he turned to me and said "it's solved". Make sure you always carry your passport or ID documents with you. It's always helpful to know at least a local that you can reach out too when you find yourself trapped in tricky situations. Not much to see either in DAR. Maybe spend more time outside of the city.

Dar es Salaam is wonderful city to visit.
Dar es Salaam is wonderful city to visit. It has many interesting sites and amazing high-end restaurants to choose from. We had a wonderful experience at the AKEMI REVOLVING RESTAURANT where my spouse thoroughly enjoyed Lasagna. My grilled chicken was not exactly up to the task but passable. The service was great but the hotel manager Mr. Lorenzo Sachin could do with some PR. He moved around the restaurant totally ignoring some tables (such as ours) while busying himself with customers on other tables. Mr. Sachin, customer equity is important more so in hotel and restaurant industry... Mwenda (Kenya)

I was there for a wedding reception, which was a lavish occasion, put on by my son's in-laws, as the happy couple had married in the UK, where they live. Dar is all things to all people, teeming with life and humanity in all its colourful fluidity.
There is wealth and deep poverty, but with it all, people are proud of their country and most have a friendliness and humour in all their dealings. There is always something to see or watch.
There are local buses, which we were discouraged from using, but taxis are easily obtained and the drivers are knowledgeable as to how to get around the city. Above all, don't think you can hire a car. Driving in and around Dar is only for the very experienced.
Stay in the best hotel you can afford, as the ones on the beach overlooking the Indian Ocean are truly paradise.
The hotel is a beach hotel, the staff are warm and welcoming. Check-in was smooth. The hotel has a beach and restaurant on the opposite side of the main hotel. The rooms are clean. We had dinner at the restaurant, the portions were adequate and the food generally was delicious. There are many activities around the beachside to engage in: pool tables, swimming pool, paintball, and PlayStation 3 and 4. The kids enjoyed the pool as well. The breakfast had variety and was yummy.
Excellent service and location. The staff were top notch. Fantastic garden with large fish pond. Very relaxing atmosphere. The rooms were excellent, clean and someone had thought through the lighting. lovely bathroom with best shower in Tanzania. The breakfast was excellent and the afternoon tea is not to be missed. Really pleasant atmosphere all over. I can only recommend this hotel.
Kiji beach resort is my favorite place in dar es salaam, it s a quite , safe and peaceful hotel near the beach and with a wonderful swimming pool , same as the picture with a clean water.
The staff is really friendly and professional particularly m MIster Ali and young guys of 22 years old that speaks very good english and make you feel like at home
i warmly recommand this hotel
We come here every time we’re in Dar es Salaam. We’ve tried other hotels in the city, but this is our favorite. The staff are amazing, the rooms are spotless clean and comfortable. We always enjoy their tasty breakfast. My husband uses the small gym for a quick workout, and I appreciate the pool on hot days. Oh and there’s free parking in the garage!
Was pleasant hotel. Judith was amazing. All reception staff ready help with anything.
Very friendly staff and security. Nice breakfast.
Is in centre of city centre. If you have business there.
Not much going on around that area. Quite far from mbezi beach. Would def stay again or in their hotel on beach. Views are amazing from the high floors.
If you are thinking of a good apartment in dar es salaam then go for it...it has a great city view with a friendly and helpful owner. It is near the commercial area and ferry point. Rather than going for a hotel you can go for a great price and some complementary services like tea and coffee.
Good location, not too busy, but at the same time close to Morocco station where you can get the bus to the city centre. Safe area. Breakfast included. Host is helpful and available. Good wifi, big lockers. The dorm has both aircon and fans, and the temperature is just right (not freezing).
clean, easy to navigate around and location wasn’t too bad - within driving distance from city centre also beach front which was a bonus. most if not all staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. special thanks to Rita and reemah. food at the restaurant was delicious too. a bonus.
The first thing you should keep in mind is that hotel rating in Africa is different from Europe or even Latin America. Said that, Coral beach provides a good value for money. It’s not too expensive and they have good infrastructure
The place is really clean than it looks in the photos. I had a great stay there. I will always stay here whenever I opt for a hostel in Dar es Salaam. Brian is a great guy too. He always guided me on all I needed.
Located in the city centre, close to everything. Huge hotel with many facilities. Unfortunately we only stayed there for one night and hopefully we can be there for longer next time.
The hotel is clean and the staff are very cooperative, welcoming and smiling. The hotel is quiet and close to the city centre, which makes it easy to reach all places smoothly.
The location is very convinient, close to the main road all tarmac and accessible all the time and not very far from the city centre and the penninsular
Good location for spending some hours while waiting for a connecting flight in Dar Es Salaam airport. Rooms are big and clean and the staff is welcoming
