Asheville is a beautiful city with friendly people and lots to do. No one I've ever talked to has had anything but the best things to say about this town! Everything is compact and easy to get to. We ate at Ida's Bistro - food was good, dessert was great, but service was not so good (server didn't know the specials and then presented them badly, he seemed indifferent. We heard the manager describe the same specials to the table next to ours and the description sounded Sooooo much better!). We also had dinner at the Bistro at Biltmore's Antler Hill Village. Was a little pricey, but the quality of the food was really great, and the service spot-on.

This was our first visit to Asheville due to attending a wedding. We stayed at the Renaissance Hotel in the Downtown area and everything was in an easy 3-4 block walking distance. We had no idea that this area was such a gem as a foodie place with the diverse selection of good restaurants (Spanish, French, Japanese, Brasilian, Italian, Mexican etc.), wine bars, craft breweries and interesting stores and shops plus the history with the Vanderbilt family influence as well as the four nearby colleges/universities. This is a fun place that we intend to return to in the future.

Absolutely lovely town with warm and friendly people.
Absolutely lovely town with warm and friendly people. It’s a little chilly in the winter so dress in layers. If you plan to visit the Biltmore it’s a whole day trip visit the winery without kids cause the lines are long especially on weekends. Downtown parking is crazy on the weekends so pay attention, be ready to Walk a little and if you visit Double D’s have cash on hand. Sometimes it rains unexpectedly have a umbrella handy

Great food and art options.
Great food and art options.
Laid back mtn. town atmosphere is great!
Not so great is the amount of homeless and mentally ill people who make you feel unsafe.
I was followed by one such individual but that’s on me because I was out at midnight looking for food options.

Enjoyed walking the down town area.
Enjoyed walking the down town area. Interesting shops and arts/crafts stores. Always enjoy shopping at Mast General Store. On the down side, I am a senior citizen from the old school. Downtown Asheville is too "woke" for me. I don't expect to return.

Such an interesting and beautiful city.
Such an interesting and beautiful city. There’s plenty to do, numerous restaurants to enjoy excellent food, and the people are friendly. The spa at the Omni Grove Park Inn is really a treat. We enjoyed the Asheville museum and then French Broad Chocolate Lounge - yum! My favorite breakfast place was The Rhu; their quiche and pastries are Amazing! Biscuit Head is a great place to start the day as well. The Biltmore is always enjoyable; I notice some new detail each time I visit and look forward to exploring more of the grounds there when it warms up again. If you enjoy the writings of Thomas Wolfe, the house and now museum where he lived is worth a visit.
Reception area was clean and friendly. The staff was very helpful and efficient. I loved the room with it's own entrance, It was spacious and well maintained. This appeared to be a renovated building kept in good repair. It was in a convenient location only 2 miles from downtown Asheville and directly off the interstate. There were restaurants within walking distance if you didn't want to go out again. There is a nice patio courtyard accessible from the room via a sliding door. I would recommend this hotel next time I am in the area.
We had a very nice stay at the Windsor. The hotel has an ideal location for a foodie tour of downtown Asheville. We walked to Curate, Chai Pani, Cucina24, and there were so many other choices. The room was very well stocked, we especially liked the coffee set up in the room, full kitchenette and complimentary drinks in the lobby. The service was very good with great communication and lots of information when we needed it. The king bed was comfortable and the bedroom was very quiet and dark (off the street).
Such an attractive hotel. Near downtown, but not in the thick of the noise. The parking was free and always available — a huge benefit, both in terms of cost and convenience. Outstanding complimentary breakfast, with an interesting menu that changed daily. My only complaint is that I couldn’t have stayed longer to try more options! The rooms themselves were spacious and comfortable. The staff was kind, funny, and generous. The Princess Anne will be my hotel of choice in Asheville moving forward.
Hotel is great, brand new with very convenient location. Super friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are very clean, spacious, mattress and pillows were super comfortable, no complaints at all. Very pleasant surprise is breakfast, you could literally find everything there: hot, cold meals, yogurts, bread, juice, etc. Also very convenient and nice service was shuttle to downtown. I would definitely stay there again.
Location is great, very close to the Biltmore Estate and Asheville downtown. View from our room was over the mountains. Fantastic! The pool is large, the personnel is friendly. There is a good grill and bar on the first floor. Prices are quite reasonable and the taste is delicious. Thanks for everyday cleaning service! Super clean.
The location within downtown Asheville and the beds were by far the best thing about this hotel. It’s literally in the center of downtown and within walking distance to everything! The beds were so comfortable, when we got home we ordered bedding similar to what was on the beds at the hotel.
The hotel is the best choice to pick in Asheville, walking distance to downtown making easier to walk around, rooms are cozy and perfectly clean, beds are comfortable and the breakfast was a 10 out of 10. Staff really kind and accomodating with our needs, I'd definitely stay here again.
Hotel was clean and sufficed for our trip. It was just a one night stay. Staff was very kind and great location. Hotel was pretty outdated, but that didn't matter to us. It was clean and kind! I recommend staying here if you need to go to Downtown Asheville for a short stay.
Great stay , first time In Asheville. The hotel was clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was also wonderful. Plenty to choose from. We will definitely come back to stay. Great place to stay and close to downtown Asheville.
Location was as good as it gets for walking to anything downtown, Staff was more than accommodating and so very pleasant and thoughtful. And the hotel was just beautifully appointed. Loved the prompt valet service too.
The front desk staff and bar staff were very friendly. The location is great, right in the heart of downtown. The hotel (and Asheville in general) seemed extremely dog friendly. The beds were very comfortable.
The proximity to the downtown area was its best attribute, although that part felt a little less secure than other places nearby. The price was good and it was clean, with a comfortable bed.
Asheville is not the cheapest town to stay in, but they charged us a quite low rate in August 2023 - and the accomodation itself is alright, nothing to complain about
Good location and easy (contactless) check-in process. The location was an easy drive to downtown Asheville and breakfast was delivered, as ordered, the next morning.
