I enjoyed the city however do not recommend walking at night downtown. The Ghost tour was not worth the time however the restaurants and food trucks were amazing. Highly recommend Hawthorne Asylum Food Cart Pod and the Japanese Gardens.CharleneCanada - 8.0Scored 8.0

Enjoyed the nature and greenery. Went to Providence Park for Timbers soccer match and would highly recommend. I liked Washington Park with the Japanese Gardens and Rose Test Gardens. Liked walking around Powell's Books. Really enjoyed walking around NW District neighborhood, and eating at Sweet Bacon Cafe and Scottie's Pizza Parlor. Recommend staying at Inn at Northrup Station in NW District or the Tiny Digs Hotels in Kerns neighborhood in East Portland. Enjoyed Screen Door restaurant at East Portland. Trail Blazers Basketball game at Moda Center was fine. There is a lot of homeless and possible drug use around downtown Pearl District. Never felt threatened or in danger but definitely need to be cautious.

We had a wonderful adventure in Portland including seeing the "Troll" which was the last one of the 6 in the Northwest for us!! We also enjoyed the Pittock Mansion tour and Washington Park. It was all in all a beautiful stay and adventure.AAnonymous - 10Scored 10

Absolutely loved the country. We saw so much! The falls, the coast, the bridges. So incredible. We are not super touristy..so we kept out of the downtown areas. We eat relatively simple so the market was amazing to get most of our food. Getting around in our rental car was so easy. We loved the 55 mph limit on the freeways. The only downfall that we saw was the unfortunate homeless. Sadly that seems to be everywhere now though. So, we did not let that bother us at all. I know Portland has a stigma attached to it.
I know Portland has a stigma attached to it. I am one who has judged it from afar. In all reality the worst part was driving in the freeway in the rain. Not good for my nerves! We stayed in a B&B In a historic district. Beautiful old homes. There is a mixture of graffiti and businesses that is almost complimentary to each other. We went to a Blazer game with our kids and it was outstanding! Even getting a ride after the game was quick and simple. All in all we weren't there long. The people seemed to be friendly and welcoming. Makes it easier for me to say I would definitely go back.Randall

Everything is in walking distance. The staff is so helpful and kind and goes the extra mile to make you feel welcome. We loved the different buildings and the cute little corners and spaces where you can sit and meet people. Everything is very clean and we will definitely stay here again when we are in Portland! The 5$ parking permit is a big plus too and it was easy to find a close spot.

Just be prepared for some climbing. You can also access the Forest Park mountain bike/gravel bike trails without having to drive anywhere. You are 15 minutes easy mostly non-highway driving to the Pearl District and downtown. The rest of Portland area attractions are also easily accessible.
