Absolutely loved the country. We saw so much! The falls, the coast, the bridges. So incredible. We are not super touristy..so we kept out of the downtown areas. We eat relatively simple so the market was amazing to get most of our food. Getting around in our rental car was so easy. We loved the 55 mph limit on the freeways.
The only downfall that we saw was the unfortunate homeless. Sadly that seems to be everywhere now though. So, we did not let that bother us at all. Everything was amazing.

I know Portland has a stigma attached to it.
I know Portland has a stigma attached to it. I am one who has judged it from afar. In all reality the worst part was driving in the freeway in the rain. Not good for my nerves! We stayed in a B&B In a historic district. Beautiful old homes. There is a mixture of graffiti and businesses that is almost complimentary to each other. We went to a Blazer game with our kids and it was outstanding! Even getting a ride after the game was quick and simple. All in all we weren't there long. The people seemed to be friendly and welcoming. Makes it easier for me to say I would definitely go back.

The area of the Crystal hotel was very close to several other restaurants. Walking was safe to shopping centers. The Crystal ballroom was great and concert was excellent with more events coming daily. Fantastic place. Highly recommended!! Uber pick up was within 3 minutes and affordable. Portland is full of continuous festivals and beautiful places for everyone's liking.

Portland seem to have a great food and pub/micro-brewery scene. We only visited a few due to the shortness of our stay, but the ones we went to were exceptional.
Considering it was rainy, there wasn't too much we could do.
Public transport seems to be quite good.
However, Portland seem to have a huge problem with homeless people, who camp around the city, as they seem to have nowhere else to go.

We used to love Portland's vibrant feel.
We used to love Portland's vibrant feel. Most of the beautiful city has been ruined by "mostly peaceful" riots of 2020 and the criminality that has been allowed to follow. The stores between 5th and the beautiful river front park are no longer, nor are the restaurants. It's sad. We used to visit the REI and it has now had to close due to the criminals. The NW area was in better shape. We enjoyed walking and shopping in that area.

It was terrible ghetto I was surprised there was no rodents or bugs!!!!!!!!!! Do not stay there!!! There was a condom rapper in one of the drawers! Part of the sealing was falling! It was the worst place I have ever stayed at!!!!!
Original, beautifully quirky hotel in a very central part of Portland. The staff was very friendly and attentive, they gave us great tips on the things to do and see. The room was very spacious, beautifully decorated, just a little bit cold at night. The WIFI signal was good, too. It's a pity that the adjointed pizza place was closed when we were there, I would have loved to try it. I loved the free coffee in the morning, it was a nice touch. It was probably the best hotel in my 2 weeks stay in the US.
best location ever! beautiful neighbourhood, safe, full of restaurants. so much better than staying downtown. the staff is amazing, everyone is very polite, friendly and helpful. the rooms are very spacious, the bed is really big and comfortable. the dark curtains provide great sleep quality, which is often a problem at hotels. free parking is a big plus. overall an amazing stay and part of a lifetime experience trip for us! thank you for making it unforgettable
The patio. - It was my third stay in Portland but this was by far the best hotel. Clean, spacious, (new?), didn't feel like other Hamptons I have been to. - The breakfast area was done so more than a handful people at a time could get food and you didnt feel crowded when eating. - The staff was one of the friendliest in the area (I had dealings with 5, so I generalize this)- The room was good Hampton quality. The gym was well maintained.
Newly renovated with cute vintage touches. It was in a good location and we visited on the weekend, so there were no big issues with street parking. Easy access to things on East Burnside and a 10-minute walk across the bridge to downtown Portland. The hotel had a fun nordic themed restaurant, plus a rooftop bar which was nice when we wanted to lounge around the hotel during our free time. Staff was really kind, welcoming, and helpful.
The Viking Motel was a great stay for us. Very clean and comfortable. Really helpful staff. Easy to drive to and good parking. Also, not mentioned in the hotel details, it has a very handy MAX light rail stop which takes you downtown super close (yellow line, Rosa Parks stop), brilliant supermarket also close (New Seasons), lovely park, and a great little neighbourhood (Mississippi) within easy walking distance.
The hotel is lovely (super comfy beds and cozy rooms!) with a beautiful interior with periodic character, and we had a wonderful time there. The location is perfect for a short stay in Portland, and offers a valet service for those with a car. We stayed there as part of our honeymoon trip back in October and received best in class service from the Hotel Manager, Mr. Jean Marc and his team.
The Dossier was a great hotel right downtown. Downtown Portland has lost a lot of its charm the last few years, but that is no fault of the Dossier. It was easy to get everywhere and we were able to walk or take public transportation wherever we wanted. The coupons for the bar were also incredibly helpful in figuring out breakfast. The room was large and comfortable and very clean.
Small but comfortable room, but what you'd expect from a downtown hotel in an older, historic building. The bed was one of the best and most comfortable I've experienced in any hotel. There were a lot of nice restaurants and coffee shops in walking distance and I felt very comfortable walking in the area at night.
We love staying at the Paramount. Their rooms are always clean, quiet, and very comfortable. The location is exceptional within the Downtown District. The staff is always well trained and professional. This is our go-to hotel anytime we stay in the Portland area.
There is no restaurant at the Hotel.
I liked having a beer during craft beer hour.
Close to the things I wanted to do; I walked nearly everywhere.
Great staff.
A hip and cool place without being hipster.
Easy walk to Red Line to access the Portland Airport.
The hotel is easy to find from the freeway. It is only a few minutes from downtown Portland. It is situated along the bank of the Willamette River with a paved walking trail. Although there is currently construction happening, it was pretty quiet in the room.
It's proximity to all downtown Portland had to offer. The staff was phenomenal and extremely knowledgeable about the local food spots. This hotel was open and affirming which was a major plus.
The bath rooms are amazing. HUGE!!!
Just an FYI...
I loved how clean the hotel was and how professional/ kind the staff were! Great location in the heart of downtown Portland within walking distance of a lot of very cool things. Definitely worth the trip
Modern and fresh, in the heart of downtown Portland. Felt safe and secure, and the hotel is sticking to Covid-safe practices. Would love to come back again with my family.
Loved the room. Loved the pool. Sad Portland has become what it has, but this hotel has taken the steps to make us feel safe. The valet employees were the best.
Great hotel. nicely remodeled recently. clean and comfortable with a nice staff. best on location parking in Portland. they even gave a credit for snacks
