It is all about the skiing for most people, and the Vail ski resort is amazing. Hard to beat as a ski destination. It is generally a very expensive place to stay but there are many options available to you.
As a town, feels a bit disjointed with the two main locations of Vail Village and Lionshead being separated. If you come without your own transport, get used to having to take buses/shuttles most places. Having said that, the transport system is incredibly good once you work it all out. Lots of places to eat, moreso in Vail Village.
As it is also under Epic Pass, easy to ski Beaver Creek during your stay in Vail, with a great (free) bus service mostly every 20 mins from Vail to BC and only takes about half an hour. It is a shame that the same is not available for Breckenridge, another Epic resort.

Amazing mountain!
Amazing mountain! You can’t beat the vastness of this mountain. There is something for everyone and every level of skiing.
The village is awesome with plenty of restaurants and shops. I would avoid this place on busy holiday weekends.

We visited during the autumn when the aspen colors were at their peak. Incredible views everywhere. Nice warm sun and cool nights. Village was pretty quiet as it was "between seasons" which made for a very relaxing visit, with no waits for restaurants, etc. Very easy to walk around the public areas.

Vail is a beautiful and extreemly well mantained town.
Vail is a beautiful and extreemly well mantained town. It is a credit to the locals who seem to take great pride in their town. It has the benefit natural beauty with its surrounding mountains. The free electric bus service that teavels around the town is a great way to see the sights including the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens which are well worth a visit .

Very bad experience I don’t recommend no one to rent this property…
The location of hotel was excellent--right in the center of Vail Village. The view from hotel room of the creek and village was wonderful. We kept the balcony door to our 3rd floor room open through the night to hear the soothing sound of the creek. Room was lovely and each staff member was so pleasant, and helpful with any questions we had. Wish we could have stayed longer, and will be sure to stay again on a future trip to Vail!
I love the open concept in the center of this clean resort. The
apartment is stocked with supplies and has a fireplace! The resort has a great hot tub, sauna, and swim out pool. The shuttle takes you to Grocery, Lionshead, and Vail Village. The staff was so kind and helpful. Great pizza, yoga, massage, beauty shop, laundry, and game room. If we ever get the chance to go to Vail again, we will definitely stay at Vail Run again.
This is a quaint, older hotel in the center of Vail. The people at the front desk were friendly, thorough, and helpful. We were given detailed information about parking in the free lot and finding our way back to the hotel. The rooms are a bit dated, but our room was quiet and the beds were comfortable. We really enjoyed the hot tub, steam room and sauna. It was a perfect way to relax on a snowy weekend.
We had a great appartment with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
Each appartment is different as they seem privately owned.
Our apartment was well equiped with a good kitchen, fire place and TV.
The apartments are in the center of the Vail West, Lionshead which is a small center with good facilities and direct lift access. Vail Center is 20 minutes nice walk or the free shuttle bus.
We were four adults (2 couples) and found this condo very comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked and the unit was newly remodeled. The shuttle was a 5 minute walk and a 10-15 minute ride, but only to Vail Village. An in-town bus was necessary to go to Lion's Head. The rental agent was very responsive. Though our bedrooms had a highway view the unit was quiet.
The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are nice . However the front people are not so great. The gentleman who checked us in kept interrupting and talking over me. I did not appreciate that. His attitude that I donot belong there was even picked up by my wife. The valet young man was fantastic. Maybe the staff needs to learn How to treat customers from him.
The location was very easy to get to the freeway and Vail skiing villages. The house was clean and each room of the house has their own temperature control. The kitchen was well-equipped and there was plenty of soaps and towels in each bathroom. The beds were also comfortable and the pillows were nice and fluffy.
We have stayed at Simba Run several times. It is a bit of an older facility but the best value for money that we have found. It is just across the highway from the Lionshead area of Vail. The Simba run shuttle runs frequently as does the Vail city shuttle. Its about 15 minute walk to Lionshead.
The location was in Vail village. We parked our car with the hotel and walked or used the free transportation. Traveling with our grandsons( 5 & 3), we brought their scooters which made it easier for them to get around the village. Can’t wait to come back and will definitely stay at Sonnenlap.
In addition to everything checked above being exceptional, the restaurant was also exceptional..not just the food. The decor with historical significance was best I've seen at any restaurant. They even have copy of newspaper with original opening date of Vail ski area.
The room was huge and very comfortable. It had a fully equipped kitchen and dinner ware, which was very convenient. Location is perfect. Free parking and shuttles to the mountain, free ski storage. Comfortable lounge areas. Super friendly and helpful staff
