Hoi An is jam packed with tourists in a small city space.
Hoi An is jam packed with tourists in a small city space. The city’s charm is only uncovered when the hoards have retired to their rooms and the motorbike traffic dies down. The environment around the city is lovely—it is that and the people who make this trip worthwhile. If not for the gentle welcome of the people, I would have run back to Hue in a heartbeat.

Beautiful town with lots of markets, food options, tours and things to do. The food in particular is brilliant and there are also plenty of different cuisines to suit all styles.
Suggest bicycles are the best way to get around but walking you will always see something to smile or get interested about.
The people were friendly and this is one of the best towns visited so far in Vietnam.

A lovely clean ancient city that offers modern accommodation.
Food is wide in variety and very cheap and safe.
Beaches are acceptable and nothing is more than a A$6 taxi ride in clean well maintained vehicles with competent drivers.
In 2 visits have only seen about 5 police officers and never heard a siren.

Things have changed since my last visit finding especially some taxi drivers having a set price only for a short trip that was at least double the proper rate. It seems greed has set in for some people.

Loved the Old Town.
Loved the Old Town. Made use of arranged tour by a lical guide, so learnt a lot more about the culture and history. Making use of bicycle made the towm more accessible and was one reason we chose the hotel we did - they were free. Loved the cooking class we booked onto, but hated the coconut grove boat trip - extremely touristy, loud and felt was based on what the locals believed tourists expected 'Gangdem' style loud music that the roweres could spin the boats to. The beach at An Bang was lovely and not too busy. We cycled, parked our bicycles at a beachside restaurant, booked a sunbed and coffee each to avoid paying 'parking' fee we were harrassed for on arrival.
Quiet and ideal location in Old Town close to the night market, waterfront attractions and an endless choice of restaurants nearby. The rooms are a good size with their own bathroom, cleaned daily. Breakfast is good, choices including omelette, Banh Mi, fruit and more which set me up for a good day out. We loved the Vietnamese cooking class and village tour booked through the homestay. Our hosts were able to suggest some local attractions and restaurants and made sure our pre-booked transport was timely. A lovely family atmosphere.
Beautiful setting with accommodation with a view of the mangroves. The staff were wonderful and always had a smile on their face, were extremely polite and nothing was too much trouble for them. Our room was large, clean, beautifully decorated and well equipped and the bed was extremely comfortable. Here you can use free bicycles to move into the old town. We will definitely stay at Crony Villa when we come back to Vietnam. We are frequent travelers and this is definitely the best service we have ever received in a hotel.
We booked for 7 nights and stayed 9, so we obviously liked Banana Garden. Like all hotels, it's a bit outside of Old Town, but you can borrow the hotel's bikes for free and bike along the river. It's easy, pretty, and safe to bike to town. We enjoyed being in a more typical Vietnamese neighborhood with plenty of places to eat nearby. The rooms were spotless, and they were cleaned well every day, to the point where our belongings were nicely organized. The pools were a blessing in the heat.
Yim, Ann and Thi made our stay so wonderful. we were always greeted with a smile, they remembered our names, gave us great tips about the city and ensured we had everything we needed. The hotel was spotless and the breakfast was delicious! The location is also perfect you are a short walk from historic old town and the night market. We also rented bikes from the hotel and easily rode to coconut basket boat tour, to Cau Dai beach and to An Bang beach all in one day.
The staff at Hoi An gardens were extremely friendly and helpful. They helped organise a tour and Danang airport transfer. We had the family suite which was fantastic and very large. The pool is lovely after a day in Hoi An. The breakfast was fresh and tasty. The Hotel is a little way from the centre of Hoi An old town but easy to get a taxi if you need it. Bikes were free to use and an easy, scenic and mainly low/no traffic ride to the beach.
Big and modern rooms, amazing pool, convenient position (short distance by bike from the Old Town and the beach and free bike rental), delicious breakfast with fresh food, possibility to book tours and drivers to visit the main attractions in the area. The best homestay we stayed in Vietnam, we really felt like we were at home thanks to the wonderful and very kind family running the structure. A very big thanks to them again for everything!
We had a very nice time at coco village homestay. Location is quite nice and quiet close by the rice fields. Motorbike/scooter are availalbe for small fee and bicycles are available for free. To get to rice fields, Old town and Hoi An main sites as well as the basket boats site, bicycle are enough ;-) . For beach scooter is better and for marble mountain perhaps a tour or a car ;-). Thanks again to the nice family for welcoming us :-) .
This is such a lovely place to stay, just outside the hustle and bustle of Hoi An. A free shuttle to the old town, free bikes, an excellent breakfast and a very reasonably priced restaurant means that you have everything you need. Even a complimentary cooking class and lunch which was superb. If you want a slice of local luxury in Vietnam while avoiding the big chain hotels, this is the one.
Everything was perfect! One of our favourite accommodations during our whole trip in Vietnam, and by far the best service we’ve had. The staff go out of their way to accommodate your every request. Quiet, and beautiful facilities. Multiple shuttles a day to the old town and the beach, and back to the hotel. Free bicycles. Beautiful breakfasts with new items each day. Awesome stay!
Absolutely outstanding. One of the best hotels and service we have received. Amazing value for money
Staff friendly and great.
Very clean and great breakfast
Location amazing between beach and old town. Easily walkable or use the hotels free bikes
Loads of outstanding restaurants within five minutes
Staff booked our bus to Nha Trang and also helped with everything.
BRILLIANT
1) Host behavior & homely stay, you will always feel relaxed when you reach this hotel after walking throughout your day. Good English speaking capability also helped us a lot.
2) Outside lot of spa & daily utility stores, you can get bicycle on rent, car to Da Nang airport was cheaper than Grab
3) 7 mins walk to the old town, 2 min walk to a good Italian Restaurant
The Son is a fantastic boutique hotel on the edge of the old town. The rooms have a lovely and unique character and there is a quiet charm about the place. The staff are all excellent, especially the Happy Hour bar man. The real highlight is the breakfast where there are Vietnamese and more western choices on offer. The coffee is simply amazing!
Stayed in a triple room. Good variety of options for buffet breakfast.
Nice pool area. We had a massage at the spa which was very nice.
Free bikes available but we didn't use them. 15-20 min walk to the centre of old town. There are some nice family run restaurants close to the hotel for dinner which are much cheaper than the old town.
Staff are v friendly and helpful. The guest relation team Rose, Cherry, Kayle and Kate were exceptional and gave us a surprise birthday celebration for my wife while we stayed. Location is excellent as it is walking distance to Hoi An ancient town and lantern market. Hotel is also nicely decorated with Vietnamese style.
Beautiful, small hotel very conveniently located near old town, and close enough to go to the beach by bike or taxi.
Very clean, comfortable beds, great shower and lovely setting.
Received many excellent recommendations for restaurants, and yours which were arranged by the lovely owners.
Hotel is beautiful (nice combination of french and vietnamese design), wonderful view over the ricefields, fantastic smoothie bowls (!!), with the free bikes you can easily reach old town and beach, super clean and staff is really nice
The staff is very friendly. We stayed with the family and a baby and they are very kids friendly. The hotel on the major tourist track so it is in a calm street, but it is only a 5 minute walk to the old town.
Beautiful hotel in a very tranquil setting, was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of Old Town. Enjoyed riding bikes to the beach and only around a $2 taxi to get to the restaurants and shops.
The hotel is brand new.
Everything was perfect.
Thank you, AME, for make our stay so perfect.
100% recommanded
Huge room, delicious breakfast, free bicycle, free shuttle to the beach and old Town.
