Our trip was a bit of a roller coaster , but overall we enjoyed our time there .
Highlights , 83 islands distillery tour was awesome . Mele beach bar great food , awesome staff and location and the fire show on Friday nights fantastic . Kids can swim at the beach , have a feed and watch the shoe -A+ . The markets were awesome as usual .
Low lights . We’ve been going to Vanuatu for over 20 yrs , and our recent trip to the cascades saddened us and emptied our wallets .
The current owners havnt maintained the place and the entry fee is extortion . The roads are next level knarly All 3 of our airport transfers were no shows which was disappointing but not the end of the world .
The people of Vanuatu are why we come back every time . They really are the friendliest people on earth .
Special shout out to Gideon and his family from Havanah eco lodge .
They treated us like family and we had a great time over there .

Port Villa is heaven on earth, I have been there 3 times and will always go back, with all the natural disasters this island goes through people are still so friendly and happy all the time, they live a simple life and always have a reason to smile, i strongly advise visiting the locals as it much better than staying in the resorts, the rivers , lagoons and beachs are surreal and its all so clean, the locals will always say hello and help you with anything you need.
There are plenty of taxis to go around, I would stay away from resorts for food and go into town as the resorts are extremely expensive and the town prices are so much cheaper.

Fresh food and souvenir markets were very well maintained.
Fresh food and souvenir markets were very well maintained. Indeed the waterfront esplanade area was attractive apart from the toilets behind the stage set up for MAC festival which had a $1.00 AU entry fee. Our trip on the coral viewing boat was worthwhile. The Museum was a great disappointment especially given the high entry fee and the seeming lack of curatorial care in presenting historical perspectives such as WW2 events and impacts of colonisation.

The local people were great: friendly, helpful and polite.
The local people were great: friendly, helpful and polite. There were good restaurants, particularly the Waterfront Bar and Grill. It was easy to get a taxi or bus on the street, but asking the hotel to get you a taxi may result in a long wait for their preferred driver to arrive.
We heard several stories from disappointed people who booked resorts where there was nothing to do and had ferry charges to get back to the mainland.

Exceptional place if you wish to get into the local lifestyle and explore the culture. There are nice places to visit like Mele Beach bar for Fire Dance, Blue Lagoon and Iririki Island for Snorkeling, Kayaking, swimming, casino and a lot more to offer that too at very affordable rates.

We recently stayed at Nasama for the first few days of our trip to Vanuatu. The location was great being a little further out of town, but easy to get into town if needed. We only went to town to buy supplies while we were there. It’s also a short walk to other resorts if you feel like mixing it up for dinner or lunch. The snorkelling right by the resort was great, and the pool was great as well. We were lucky to get a beach side apartment with a great view and lots of privacy. Was a great start to our trip.
Locations is great, super nice beach, very close to town but far enough that you are in vanuatu, not in a town.
and there is a micro-climate, we were there during Christmas, raining heavily in Port Vila everyday but no rain and usually sunshine on that peninsula.
So highly recommended for the location.
Generally nice design even though not all villas are as finished as the vilal shown on photos (for instance contact vs pebble walls)
Staff at the villa is nice.
The studio is really big, the internet in rooms is great, especially for Vanuatu, hot showers, the complimentary welcome package was a nice touch. The location is close to the shops and places to eat in Port Vila. For the beach, you have to go to the other resorts, but we knew that.Great selection of movies to watch on the TV. Actually, it is not a real TV, but more like in-flight media entertainment.Even better and highly appreciated on a rainy day.
I love Janessa's Dwellery, I kept coming back in my stay in Port Vila. The rooms and shared facilities are spotless. You are provided a shared kitchen with snacks (rice, eggs, bread) which is great if you don't feel like eating in town. It's a short walk to the airport. I found this place incredibly relaxing, because Joy provides and creates such as welcoming and warm space and the rooms and facilities are fantastic. Definitely recommended.
Whispering palms is secluded paradise. Right on the beach with a reef in front for snorkelling and an easy drive to some beautiful local spots including Top Rock, Havannah and Moso. There is even a small convenience store about 5 mins walk to the south to pick up incidental items but it's best to get groceries in Port Vila first. Sylvie and the other team who look after the property are lovely.
We love the location and it’s so great to be able to use a kitchen occasionally and BBQ some good Vanuatu beef! Two bedrooms so we had space and step of the patio into the lagoon. Good little pool and great for longer stays. Clean, friendly and comfortable thanks 🙏 for our lovely relaxing stay. See you next time❤️🇻🇺
The breakfast buffet was temporarily replaced by an a la carte menu (apparently due to the recent cyclones) however they would provide items not on the menu, if you asked. Were told by the hotel beforehand that hot water was not reliable (again, due to cyclones) but it was fine. Staff were typically excellent.
Location was perfect. The secenic sunsets and good happy hour prices. Rooms and beds were very comfortable. Walking distance to Port Vila city area with lots of eating options nearby. Pool was probably the best in the area and always clean. The deck around the prooperty gave it a real relaxing feeling.
Being quite new and very modern the room were excellent, nice & clean, good aircon, only issue the family rooms being so far from the facilities.
The staff were extremely friendly, and Renata helped out so much with booking our tours.
The pool area was great with food and drinks easily available.
easily reachable by local bus from the airport (150 vatu). there are a few supermarkets nearby, Cafe Waves (for breakfast and lunch), a local place to eat cheap and nice food (Le Frangipani Takeaway on Google Map), and a local kava bar. self-contained. able to cook even though we didn't.
The Location is nice. People and Staff are very friendly. According to Google Map it is a 5 star hotel. That's not true. It's a 3 start hotel, no gym, no aircon, no TV, no internet in the bungalow, and the food was standard.
Great location only 10min walk from Port Vila city centre. Spacious and comfortable room with kitchenette, ocean view and access for paddle boards and kayaks almost directly from the deck of our room. Helpful staff.
We love Vanuatu! We stayed at Le Lagon just before Covid & loved it. Free water activities & meals for the kids, which was great! The staff are always happy to help with anything needed & breakfast is awesome!
On the beach with great views. Close to airport, walk into town, just next door to small shopping area with excellent bakery and cheap takeaway just opposite. Comfortable rooms, friendly staff
Nice big room, everything worked, wifi, hot water fridge, fan, kettle. Helpful friendly owner with cute little dog. Laundry done well and for free. Price very reasonable by Vanuatu standards.
Joy and her son are so kind, very sweetheart. The room is big with air conditioner which I wasn’t expecting. They picked me from the airport and it’s very good location. Highly recommended.
