I’ve been traveling to Vanuatu since 2018. I’ve stayed in nearly every “budget,” a bunch of affordable, and a few ritzy spots. This spot for its price cannot be beat. Clean, running water, overly accommodating staff. Seriously, they washed my clothes and offered me a bigger room because it was available.
What set them apart is they refunded me for the first night of my three night stay since I was unable to check in until day two because of a flight delay. And they let me check in at 9am because the room was ready!
Look. Vanuatu is a silly expensive country. I’d say ludicrous at times. This hotel is worth it. Work with the staff and they will ensure you have working A/C, wi-if (given no storms), a bed, and a quiet space in the heart of Vila (which is very hard to find).

Surrounded by swaying palm trees, on a 500-yard private beach, Breakas Beach Resort offers a relaxed, tropical retreat.

Breakas delivered exactly what we were looking for: three days of pure relaxation, floating on pool noodles in the infinity pool, watching surfers catching waves on the reef and the village children enjoying their late afternoon swim in the sea. The fact that no under fifteens are allowed contributed to the tranquility. We loved how simple and uncomplicated it is: the tropical fruit breakfasts, fares made of local materials and the lush garden setting.

Our trip was a bit of a roller coaster , but overall we enjoyed our time there .
Highlights , 83 islands distillery tour was awesome . Mele beach bar great food , awesome staff and location and the fire show on Friday nights fantastic . Kids can swim at the beach , have a feed and watch the shoe -A+ . The markets were awesome as usual .
Low lights . We’ve been going to Vanuatu for over 20 yrs , and our recent trip to the cascades saddened us and emptied our wallets .
The current owners havnt maintained the place and the entry fee is extortion . The roads are next level knarly All 3 of our airport transfers were no shows which was disappointing but not the end of the world .
The people of Vanuatu are why we come back every time . They really are the friendliest people on earth .
Special shout out to Gideon and his family from Havanah eco lodge .
They treated us like family and we had a great time over there .

Port Villa is heaven on earth, I have been there 3 times and will always go back, with all the natural disasters this island goes through people are still so friendly and happy all the time, they live a simple life and always have a reason to smile, i strongly advise visiting the locals as it much better than staying in the resorts, the rivers , lagoons and beachs are surreal and its all so clean, the locals will always say hello and help you with anything you need.
There are plenty of taxis to go around, I would stay away from resorts for food and go into town as the resorts are extremely expensive and the town prices are so much cheaper.

Fresh food and souvenir markets were very well maintained.
Fresh food and souvenir markets were very well maintained. Indeed the waterfront esplanade area was attractive apart from the toilets behind the stage set up for MAC festival which had a $1.00 AU entry fee. Our trip on the coral viewing boat was worthwhile. The Museum was a great disappointment especially given the high entry fee and the seeming lack of curatorial care in presenting historical perspectives such as WW2 events and impacts of colonisation.

The local people were great: friendly, helpful and polite.
The local people were great: friendly, helpful and polite. There were good restaurants, particularly the Waterfront Bar and Grill. It was easy to get a taxi or bus on the street, but asking the hotel to get you a taxi may result in a long wait for their preferred driver to arrive.
We heard several stories from disappointed people who booked resorts where there was nothing to do and had ferry charges to get back to the mainland.

Exceptional place if you wish to get into the local lifestyle and explore the culture. There are nice places to visit like Mele Beach bar for Fire Dance, Blue Lagoon and Iririki Island for Snorkeling, Kayaking, swimming, casino and a lot more to offer that too at very affordable rates.

Really enjoyed my stay at Chantilly's. Great location very close to town and next to the wonderful Banyan beachside bar. Room was very comfortable and even had a little separate desk area that would make a great office for business travellers. Good restaurant and bar, a favourite of my friend who lives in Port Vila. Staff were great and very helpful, organised a taxi to take me to airport for very early morning departure which all went smoothly.
The Mariner is an exceptional property in Port Vila. While it may not have the swim up bar, it has incredible views, beautiful, friendly staff and a comfortable location to town. Lovely reasonably priced restaurants are a stones throw away. The apartment we stayed in is fabulous for families, in that it has two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen that allowed home cooked meals and a full laundry. The pool was a fun addition.
every aspect was just great - snorkelling, excursions (Blue Cave, Yakel custom village, giant banyan tree), staff, food, grounds, view, rooms - really top resort.
we’d stayed at the ‘Volcanic Hideway Tree House’ at Mt Yasur to see the volcano and the luxury of the resort was a perfect complement to the tree house in a traditional Vanuatu village in sight of the volcano. recommend the combination.
We had an amazing stay at Moorings Hotel. The accomodation was exceptional! Perfect location, the view of the coast from the pool was beautiful and it was only a short walk into town.
The staff is what really made our stay so special, they were all so lovely and helpful. We had never visited Vanuatu before and they gave excellent recommendations on what to do and how to best get around.
Loved the Villa we were in Deluxe Villa 2 for 8 nights. Perfect positioning. Very private, fresh coffee and plunger. Outdoor shower. Breakfast 5 star and included. The itemised bill coming out each day so we could sign off and know what we spent. Everything. Snorkelling out front and at castaway private island was superb when the sunny and not too windy.
This is a beautiful 5 star resort. Amazing location on the beach, beautiful villas, helpful and kind staff. Our two bedroom villa with pool was enormous and very comfortable. The service was spot on. The restaurant has a big menu and the food was delicious. It was a very special place and we had a wonderful time.
Janessa is a great lady. Her house is a 4 minute walk from the airport and there are cheap easy share vans (red B on license plate) to get from the airport into Port Vila. Share bathroom, AC, breakfast, kitchen with coffee and tea, private patio in each room. A great place to stay and the cheapest in Port Vila.
Location was perfect. The secenic sunsets and good happy hour prices. Rooms and beds were very comfortable. Walking distance to Port Vila city area with lots of eating options nearby. Pool was probably the best in the area and always clean. The deck around the prooperty gave it a real relaxing feeling.
Being quite new and very modern the room were excellent, nice & clean, good aircon, only issue the family rooms being so far from the facilities.
The staff were extremely friendly, and Renata helped out so much with booking our tours.
The pool area was great with food and drinks easily available.
Vanuatu and the reason we visit is all about the people. The Warwick emphasizes this in spades with the kindest, most friendly staff in all areas of the resort. We're were a family group of eight adults and two infants and had the most awesome holiday and are planning our return one day.
Location was great--just up the hill from the beach and a short walk into town. It was also just up the hill from Moorings Hotel where I had stayed earlier with a tour group so I knew I could hang out there and use their wifi because Room with a View had zero wifi.
The hotel entrance is great, the outlook to the lagoon is lovely and the pools and pool bar was good and is similar to what you would see in these type of resorts. Got the room at a discount so it was cheaper compared to other hotels in Vila.
The location was very accessible to all..the place was quite, comfy feel like real home for me..Beth and staffs are very helpful and nice..i love the place and my room..thank you wo much Beth for dropping me to the airport..see you soon..
Kids eat free. Good package deals - everyone there is on a package deal. It was very run down. We checked out Warwick Le Lagon and it's MUCH better value and looks and feels like a 5 star resort for the same or cheaper price.
Very nice and helpful owner. Thank you very much for your help with Air Vanuatu!
Nice terrace and garden. Close to the airport.
Will come back any time!
