Supervisors and staff were very friendly and accommodating. My flight to port vila cancelled 2 consecutive days but they didn’t charge me and kept rescheduling the room. Lagoon view from our rooms was awesome. They also helped to book taxis whenever I asked for even late evenings.

Our trip was a bit of a roller coaster , but overall we enjoyed our time there .
Highlights , 83 islands distillery tour was awesome . Mele beach bar great food , awesome staff and location and the fire show on Friday nights fantastic . Kids can swim at the beach , have a feed and watch the shoe -A+ . The markets were awesome as usual .
Low lights . We’ve been going to Vanuatu for over 20 yrs , and our recent trip to the cascades saddened us and emptied our wallets .
The current owners havnt maintained the place and the entry fee is extortion . The roads are next level knarly All 3 of our airport transfers were no shows which was disappointing but not the end of the world .
The people of Vanuatu are why we come back every time . They really are the friendliest people on earth .
Special shout out to Gideon and his family from Havanah eco lodge .
They treated us like family and we had a great time over there .

Port Villa is heaven on earth, I have been there 3 times and will always go back, with all the natural disasters this island goes through people are still so friendly and happy all the time, they live a simple life and always have a reason to smile, i strongly advise visiting the locals as it much better than staying in the resorts, the rivers , lagoons and beachs are surreal and its all so clean, the locals will always say hello and help you with anything you need.
There are plenty of taxis to go around, I would stay away from resorts for food and go into town as the resorts are extremely expensive and the town prices are so much cheaper.

Fresh food and souvenir markets were very well maintained.
Fresh food and souvenir markets were very well maintained. Indeed the waterfront esplanade area was attractive apart from the toilets behind the stage set up for MAC festival which had a $1.00 AU entry fee. Our trip on the coral viewing boat was worthwhile. The Museum was a great disappointment especially given the high entry fee and the seeming lack of curatorial care in presenting historical perspectives such as WW2 events and impacts of colonisation.

The local people were great: friendly, helpful and polite.
The local people were great: friendly, helpful and polite. There were good restaurants, particularly the Waterfront Bar and Grill. It was easy to get a taxi or bus on the street, but asking the hotel to get you a taxi may result in a long wait for their preferred driver to arrive.
We heard several stories from disappointed people who booked resorts where there was nothing to do and had ferry charges to get back to the mainland.

Exceptional place if you wish to get into the local lifestyle and explore the culture. There are nice places to visit like Mele Beach bar for Fire Dance, Blue Lagoon and Iririki Island for Snorkeling, Kayaking, swimming, casino and a lot more to offer that too at very affordable rates.

We chose this place for convenience for an early start to the airport (which in the end didn’t occur like that), but it’s location, although a bit out of town, was very easy to get to other places - there are LOTS of the local busses going along that road. It was not luxury, but cheap, clean and comfortable, lovely balcony and luscious plants all around. The owner / manager was really kind and helpful and the unit has kitchen facilities if you are there for a longer stay.
Clean and quiet, big rooms with a restrain terrace, easy access to the pool and the beach, nice little lagoon war so comfortable to swim and snorkel.
2 great restaurants with yummy food (highly recommend the food in both restaurants ) and nice friendly staff, the managers of the property were so good, the gentlemen, sorry I can’t remember his name and Sharlyn made everything possible and impossible to make or stay better.
The hotel is a great value for money as well!
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Marika on reception who so helpful. She is a great ambassador for Chantilly's. Small beach one minute walk from hotel pool was great. Water was just fabulous . Would suggest anyone going to Vanuatu to take wet shoes for the beaches as being a volcanic island very few if any really sandy beaches. Lots of rocks and stones. The rooms at Chantilly's were very spacious and the view from our rooms balcony was fabulous.
every aspect was just great - snorkelling, excursions (Blue Cave, Yakel custom village, giant banyan tree), staff, food, grounds, view, rooms - really top resort.
we’d stayed at the ‘Volcanic Hideway Tree House’ at Mt Yasur to see the volcano and the luxury of the resort was a perfect complement to the tree house in a traditional Vanuatu village in sight of the volcano. recommend the combination.
Whispering palms is secluded paradise. Right on the beach with a reef in front for snorkelling and an easy drive to some beautiful local spots including Top Rock, Havannah and Moso. There is even a small convenience store about 5 mins walk to the south to pick up incidental items but it's best to get groceries in Port Vila first. Sylvie and the other team who look after the property are lovely.
Amazing service. Petter and Anne are so wonderful and the staff was friendly and accommodating as well. The food is INCREDIBLE -- the best food we had in Vanuatu, by far. The property is lovely and comfortable. The shower pressure and hot water was perfect every time. The views are spectacular and the dives were great. Can't recommend enough!!
We were in Vanuatu for 4 days, the hotel is a perfect place to stay in Port Vila very close to the city center and the beach, the staff of the hotel is so kind and perfect they help you for everything.
The food of the breakfast is delicious and cooked by William so good. I wanted to thank the person again for his kindness :)
-the Melanesian is a short walk to the city centre, very close to the pain street, market, museum, restaurants
-comfortable rooms and bed
-our room has double access, once facing the pool and one facing the back corridor which was convenient
-good room service for dining
-very attentive front desk staff
Location was great, easy access to port vila and airport! Description of accommodation was absolutely spot on!!
Access to kayaks was great!
Peaceful and quiet, didnt know there were other guests during the day.
Rooms clean and well provisioned.
Reception super helpful!
Great place, pretty clean, A lovely lady owns it.
5 min on foot from the airport.
Great breakfast, plus a great kitchen with eggs, bread, coffee, milk, pasta, seasoning, and oil, all available to be used.
Best place ever to stay in Vanuatu.
The location was very accessible to all..the place was quite, comfy feel like real home for me..Beth and staffs are very helpful and nice..i love the place and my room..thank you wo much Beth for dropping me to the airport..see you soon..
The Location is nice. People and Staff are very friendly. According to Google Map it is a 5 star hotel. That's not true. It's a 3 start hotel, no gym, no aircon, no TV, no internet in the bungalow, and the food was standard.
The hotel is conveniently located to the location I worked from but not too far from the town centre either, ~ 10-15mins walk. The staff were superb, all so nice and accommodating. And the breakfast included was very nice.
For me, the location was second to none! Given that I was merely transiting in Port Vila, I needed something close to the airport. Janessa's Dwellery was clean, well priced and the staff were wonderful.
Lovely waterfront location, two restaurants on site with better food than most in Vanuatu, good kitchenette in room, east to get bus at door to downtown and markets, cheerful staff
Stayed here twice ... its such a peaceful & underrated hotel. Beautiful views and staff were so helpful throughout the stay. Walking distance to town & short drive to the airport.
