Fourways is a good area to just take a minute for a quick breakaway. There are a few accommodation options with varying prices to fit any budget. Places to eat are close by and affordable. Getting around can be tricky but there public transport available. Like any other place, you have to be aware of your surrounding but we never felt unsafe.

I lived in Johannesburg for over 40 years and loved it. I moved to Cape Town 10 years ago and now only visit Johannesburg on business. Unfortunately, Johannesburg is deteriorating daily as the effects of government mismanagement take their toll. It is as sad as it is relentless.

The flexibility of the staff and management remains outstanding. We have stayed every other year since this wonderful hotel opened. It remains one of our favourite in the world; and holds its own with other world-class boutique hotels (e.g. Hotel Laufaurie-Peyraguey by Lalique that is ranked in the Top 15 in the world). It is exceptional value for money. The bed was easily the most comfortable that we had in 2 weeks in South Africa.
