Paarl has a very interesting Main Street if you enjoy architecture: there are a couple of centuries of architectural styles here. The scenery and surrounding mountains are spectacular and of course … let’s not forget all those gorgeous wine estates, tastings and food pairings.

Of the Cape Winelands Paarl is the least attractive and although we have seen lots of fab attractions it’s and wineries the majority are readily accessible from Franschhoek. Recommendations Fairview cheese and wine tasting - absolutely amazing Spice route - great wine tasting and artisan shops including cape brewing and chocolate tasting - Brenda’s Babylonstoren- incredible - shops, wine farm and tasting and the gardens!!!! Must do Brookdale restaurant snd wine farm - wonderful and worth the long windy off beat road to get there - food was just delicious Laborie - the wine farm and accommodation are wonderful with farm shop and 3 amazing restaurants on site Paarl golf club - fab course and unbelievable hospitality at club house - super value too The Bootlegger cafe in Main - brilliant spot for a decent flat white and delicious breakfast The language monument for history and fab views

    Delightful town with incredible scenery.

Delightful town with incredible scenery. A perfect home base if you are going wine tasting at the many nearby cellars. Friendly locals are happy to strike us a conversation and point you in the right direction.

There is more than enough quality and good restaurants.

There is more than enough quality and good restaurants. Lots of things to do (e.g. el Paca farm). beautiful surrounds and fairly quiet. The only detractor are the beggars on the streets - I never felt threatened, but it gets a bit much after a while.

The Laborie location is perfect ..close access the highway .

The Laborie location is perfect ..close access the highway ..and not far from Franschoek and Stellenbosch. We really enjoy the Winelands and prefer it to the the hustle and bustle of Central Cape Town. Paarl itself is quaint and quiet ..although in fairness we did not venture out into the wineland area of Paarl ..as our trip was too s hort ..only 5 days ..next time it will be for two weeks ..

Paarl is a wonderful place, surrounded by beautiful scenery, the mountains seem to be 'following' you every way you turn, like a sun flower! Wonderful, gentle people, always smiling, always quick to help or offer a reason to make you smile with them! I often travel for business & there's never enough time to explore the area in earnest! The cheese & the wines...a perfect addition to complete the awesomeness of this place! Also close to other attractive places, like Stellenbosch, Franschhoek & a myriad of wine farms, all easy to get to.

Location is superb. Central, lots of lovely cafes close by and very quiet. Accommodation was great, perfect for self catering with secluded outdoor dining area overlooking the pool. However, the stand out is the hospitality of Chantal and Charmaine, who were so helpful. They made us feel incredibly welcome and at home and nothing was too much trouble. They truly have the interests of their guests at heart and the owners should be very grateful to have such a dedicated team looking after the lodge.

The room was amazing, probably the best place we stayed at in a very long time. The breakfast was good and the view over Paarl was just sublime with a small vineyard right in front of you, you forget that you are actually in town and not in the countryside. The big bathroom with big shower, luxurious bath and toilet in its own cubicle was perfect. I would without a doubt stay there again in the future. I wanted to take pictures of the tilework in the shower as it was so well done. :)

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel, the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. The hotel catered my needs for a halal breakfast and a crib for my infant. The room was clean, spacious and quiet, face masks and disinfectant was provided, the view was beautiful, even though we did not make use of the golf, tennis or spa facilities, the hotel was perfect for my stay. The porter guys were quick to respond to all our calls and so was the cleaning staff. I will definitely return.

Quaint unpretentious cottage on a working wine farm run by the family owners. Amazingly comfortable beds. The cottage is well appointed for both short and longer term stays. Stunning views. Central to be Paarl winelands and a perfect place to base explorations of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek wine regions. Staff are exceptional. The family owners live and work on the estate and are welcoming to their guests.

Everything about Perle du Cap is special! From the moment you drive in and are shown to your elegantly furnished room, you are made to feel welcome. The view from the balcony is magnificent and the little stream and waterfall at the bottom of the garden, so peaceful. A little slice of heaven on our whirlwind visit to Paarl.

Friendly service - Minette made us feel very welcome. Beautiful, spotless room with lots of unexpected extras such as healthy rusks and milk in the fridge. Very sorry we didn't have time to enjoy a coffee on the stoep. Madeliefie will definitely be our preferred accommodation in Paarl.
