This is a grand old house that is best described as well lived in. Needs a bit of updating. The pool needs some attention. Not at all inviting. I don’t understand why they don’t just get an expert in to give it a thorough clean without doing it themselves. The staff are wonderful.

We had the superior king room (room 9), which had a beautiful view over the vineyards of the Stellenbosch area. The rooms are very nicely decorated and spacious as we like. The service is exceptional. Since there is no restaurant in the hotel (only breakfast), concierges Amy and Kaylee arranged some amazing restaurants for us and accommodated all our requests. It's very calming to notice how well and efficiently this hotel is run. As a bonus, there are two amazing cats who enjoy the company of the guests.

The most incredible staff and General Manager - everyone so hands on and attentive to the smallest detail. I have been in the hospitality, eventing and marketing industry for 35 years and the hotel was immaculate. The food and breakfasts were wonderful and reasonable. Spa on site an absolute win with wonderful therapists. Entry level rooms - Premium - where South Africans can afford deliver beyond expectations. Would not look anywhere else if you are wanting to explore the Stellenbosch area.

Warm greeting on arrival, great location for either Stellenbosch or nearby wine farms (needed a place to stay after a wedding at Tokara) in a quiet part of town. Was nice to have dedicated parking available off-street (though not behind a gate so don't leave anything valuable in the car). Enjoyed the Full English breakfast.
