Americanized beach town. Crowded waters to surf. Really bad infrastructure, roads are bad, no sidewalks and caos in traffic.
The beach itself is very beautiful and the waves are nice. Just the vibe is either you love it or you hate it.

Santa Teresa for us was a completely disastrous in terms of development. I cannot even imagine anyone wanting to live there. The scenery once you get beyond the mishmash of stores 3 centimeters from the really poor roads is wonderful. It is a surfer place and nothing more. I would not ever go back for any reason

Santa Teresa has the most beautiful beach.
Santa Teresa has the most beautiful beach. There are so many places to eat that have great food. Santa Teresa does not feel as crowded as some other beaches in Costa Rica, and I honestly feel very safe there. I would highly recommmend this place.

The property is amazing.
The property is amazing. The pool is super cute, the rooms are spacious and modern.
BUT the Beach Club/Restaurant charged us for things we didn’t order. We will always pay for everything we eat and drink but when things are added on our bills that we didn’t consume, we regretfully are super bitter. The hotel is looking into it and said they will get back to us. They have t yet.
Also, they advocate that they are an adult only hotel but there were kids at the restaurant and at pool.

Wooden shacks with corrugated metal roofs along a dusty dirt road. Restaurants use camping-style kitchens and where they get their groceries with absolutely no decent food market within at least two hours driving is their secret. There is absolutely no sewage system anywhere. Everyone just has a whole in the ground they call ‘septic system’. Just steps from the beach !! Would be interesting to have the water quality tested..

Lovely.
Lovely. Beautiful beach with soft sand, wonderful sunsets, great waves, a lot of nature.
A bit too many people (lots of surfers) and cars in some parts, but great offer in terms of cafes, restaurants, yoga and surf lessons.

We loved the whole vibe of this hotel. We stayed in a beachfront bungalow, all of which are located only 10 paces from a beautiful, quiet stretch of beach. The bungalow itself was a good size with some very nice touches. You are 400yards from the centre of Santa Teresa which had a younger, laid back feel to it with alot of great places to eat and drink. This is a super relaxing hotel and town to visit. It may be worth noting that the surf and riptide here is quite strong, you wouldn't want young ones to enjoy the sea unsupervised.
Great location right in the centre of Santa Teresa, a few minutes walk to the beach and directly opposite a supermarket.
There are shops, restaurants and surf schools everywhere.
It's on a busy, dirt, main road but far back enough and surrounded by foliage to not be bothered by the noise. The garden was tranquil and we spotted some wildlife.
The breakfast was good (fruit, bread, cake, jam, tea, coffee or water).
A BIG THANK YOU to LUCIA, who was so helpful with everything!
She assisted me with booking the best tours and the transportation to Santa Teresa. Also whenever I had any doubts or questions she was always there to help me with anything I needed.
The place itself is fantastic! I loved waking up there.
The little kitchen had everything you need in order to cook yourself a meal.
The outdoor shower is awesome.
We loved our bungalow, the location and the wonderful staff. Everything was really clean, two lovely ladies came to clean our bungalow every other day, it was really convenient for us with a toddler and we felt at home very quickly there. The pool was an amazing and mostly shaded escape from the heat and the beach was right there, 2 minutes walk. The best location in Santa Teresa.
Up in the mountains overlooking Santa Teresa is this great escape. Stayed in the apartment which is way larger than expected, immaculately clean with all the required features for a perfect get away. The pristine pool is right at your doorstep. Delfina was waiting to welcome and show you the property and offered great service and was available at any time on WhatsApp
I couldn’t speak highly enough of Ventura Santa Teresa! Very friendly staff, great location 2 minutes walk from the beach, very clean rooms, and a fantastic restaurant with a discount for staying there. They were even kind enough to upgrade my room free of charge and helped recover my passport after I left it in the safe on checkout. Absolutely would stay again!
Ohana Villas is a quiet oasis in the middle of busy Santa Teresa. A well designed property, thoughtful interior layout, plants and vegetation, zen (and I don't normally use the word zen). A very secure property too.
Juan is a very good host, reaching out to me days before and when we arrived. Answers for any questions. Great restaurant recommendations too!
Perfect for a couple. Serene hotel consisting of just 10 rooms. Backing right onto a stunning surf beach, yet lightly populated at the north end where we were. Property is spacious on either side, so you don't feel crammed in. Casual, friendly atmosphere where one can chat with other guests or simply enjoy their own space.
Lua Villas in Costa Rica is really great. The place is full of amazing plants and has a nice pool. The beach nearby is not crowded at all and it's perfect for surfing. You can easily hop in a car and be in Santa Teresa in just a few minutes. It's like a mix of nature, chill vibes, and being close to a cool beach town.
Good location, nice serviceminded staff, comfortable bed, safetybox and a cozy breakfast area. It is quiet at night, so you sleep very well.
I recommend this hotel if you want a nice comfortable stay in the centre of Santa Teresa. It is close to the beach, restaurants and coffee shops.
This hotel was exceptional. Ideally situated on the beach with very beautiful and wild surroundings.
The villas are very spacious and comfortable.
The staff is wonderful and was attentive to our every need.
Really recommend this hotel if you are planning a trip to Santa Teresa!
We had lovely holidays in our garden suite. The room, the pool, the design, the location, everything was absolutely PERFECT !
The staff is super friendly, full of recommendations and very arranging. Don’t hesitate if you want to book a nice hotel in Santa Teresa 😃
- a lot of plants around, you feel like in the jungle
- rather boutique hotel - so not many people around
- our appartment - spacioius, well-furnished
- view from our balcony - to the pool + "jungle"
- pool - clean, nearly all the time only for our own
Very nice Argentinian group managing the hotel, great facilities with pool, yoga area, restaurant and communal kitchen. Close to a beautiful beach & other good restaurants. Definitely a place where you’ll feel at home and just enjoy (beach & surf) life.
very nice spot in santa teresa. Staff was super helpful, even offered an upgrade upon arrival at the same price. excellent quality-price ratio, considerably cheaper than other places in santa teresa. very clean apartment, nice open kitchen.
The hotel is very new, clean and comfortable! Vanes and her husband are really nice and do anything to make their guests enjoy their time in Santa Teresa.
