I so enjoyed my time at Lemoenfontein, and I hope to visit again soon. The room was spacious, clean and the bed was really comfortable (which is so important after a long drive). The staff were really friendly and attentive, especially Justice who made sure that the fireplace was kept on in the sitting room. I also went on a short morning walk on my own, which was a good morning activity.

They Welcomed us at 2am, after vehicle troubles, with a smile on the face.
Also, very friendly & professional throughout our stay, and even followed up after we left to make sure we arrived home safely.
Would definitely consider staying there a again, even just for that reason. Keep it up guys.

Beaufort West itself is a small town with a few pretty old buildings, a little shopping Mall with a well stocked Checkers supermarket and several Banks with ATMs, there is the Christian Barnard Museum (which I didn’t have time to visit so can’t comment on)
For us the amazing thing is the beautiful surrounding landscape of the Karoo and Kokosara Bush Camp where we stayed.
A visit to the old hunting lodge of Lemoenfontain, just outside Beaufort West, is very worthwhile. It was built in 1850 by an English man and is now run as a very luxurious Hotel with a deep sense of the past, a very successful mix of antique furniture and beautiful African materials. Sit on the shady Verandah and have a meal or sip a glass of wine and look out over the depth of the Veld below you…. It’s magic!

Clean streets, beautiful old buildings.
Clean streets, beautiful old buildings. We have stayed over in Beaufort West multiple times and we have never been disappointed. Lovely little restaurants, multiple fuel stations and shops in case you forgot something at home. Beautiful Beaufort West will always have a soft spot in our hearts and we do recommend a visit there on your next trip!!

Staying at Olive Grove Guest Farm was our highlight of our trip down to Cape Town! The hospitality was second to none, Appie John and Marietjie, our hosts, became our family. The chalet had everything one could think of. The beds were super comfortable, there was a heating blanket on the bed and a heater against the wall which kept us nice and cozy on the cold winter’s night! The shower was huge and the water pressure amazing. The Kitchen was well stocked with cutlery and crockery including a full fridge freezer a microwave and a two-plate stove. It also has a breakfast nook! We were told the night that we stayed that the supper will be ready from 6pm but arrive earlier so we could have a drink and meet the hosts and other guests. Well, what a fantastic evening it was, talking to the other guests and the hosts!! We nearly forgot to have supper we were having such a good time! The supper was unbelievable and delicious to say the least, and you were offered more if you felt like overindulging, which I most definitely did! Were arrived as Guests and left as family. Thank you to Appie, John and Marietjie for such a memorable stay and we will most definitely be returning!! If I could give Olive Grove Guest Farm a million stars I would!!
Lots of love

We have stayed at Beaufort West Many times.
We have stayed at Beaufort West Many times. We love the fact it is so close to the Karoo National Park and often a convenient stop over. With regards to accommodation we have had a mixed experience. Some good, some poor but this particular stay was exceptional.
We do not like the traffic authorities who are like vultures.
We also feel the authorities could do a lot more to soften the appearance of the town as it looks very grubby and not cared for.

It is wonderful to arrive and leave on the same road you are travelling on.
The heat is unbearable so the pool was great to have.
It was a good first stop so we used it on our way back as well
Wagon Wheel will definately see us again as the Lamb Karoo shanks for dinner calls you back for more.
Close to Karoo National Park. Very convenient location just 8 minutes away. Morning game drive, go bacl and rest, return to the park for a late afternoon game.drive. Quiet, next to a dry river. Beautiful plants! Friendly and informative host Edith. Nice 1895(6?) old house with a lot of character.
Saw lots of wildlife (including lion, jackal, critically endangered riverine rabbit, vervet monkey and baboons, eland, kudu, springbom, grey rhebok, warthog, red hartebeest, mountain zebra, tortoises, and lots of birds). Breathtaking landscape.
It was not our first time at Mango's and it won't be the last! We especially enjoy the large unit for it feels like home. We enjoy the living room, full kitchen and the braai area, which we made full use of it to relax after a long drive. Great location with easy access to all the services (gas station, grocery stores etc.) as well as safe and secure parking. Thank you Irma! On a side note, we actually thought it would be a good base to explore the Karoo National Park, which is just outside of town.
Unreal. We had been travelling for 8 hours and needed a stop off location to break the trip before the next 8 hours. Honestly these guys have their hotel down to a tee. Really brilliant set up. We had just stayed in a five star hotel in Johannesburg before this one and honestly this one was the more comfortable at a fraction of the cost. The check in was genius as we were late, tired and weary - the staff knew this and made it SUPER EASY AND FAST. I could not recommend this place any more.
Wonderful self catering chalets nestled in the Karoo mountains just outside Beaufort West. Chalets were well equipped with lots of fluffy towels and coffee , sugar and milk. There was even an airfyer in our unit.Friendly staff who serviced the unit daily ..Maps supplied and routes well marked for exploring the vast property. We will be back
Detail to small things, very clean and the staff were efficient and friendly!
The fact that it is pet friendly, although we didn’t have a pet.
Then last but not the least, no loadshedding, so we could use the airconditioner as it was very hot that day!
This is an old hotel with some cultural heritage. I enjoyed the room decor and the American Diner they had on the ground floor. The lady at reception was also very accommodating. There is secure, private parking on the premises.
Self catering unit, easy access to the unit. All kitchen utensils required is provided. Good clean unit. Easy access from the main road for a half way sleepover between Cape Town and Gauteng. Nice shop
It was a very pleasant night. The place has everything you need for a short stay staring with towels and finishing with coffee and biscuits.
Definitely recommend it for a sleepover in Beaufort West.
Aircon was a lifesaver in the scrub desert in summer. Good location for visit to Karoo National Park. Kitchenette equipment basic but with all the essentials Comfy bed and spotless bathroom.
The Hotel is very safe, bed is comfortable and very quiet. For a quick overnight like ours it was awesome. They waited up for us to arrive. Was really nice
Second time I've visited, don't cheap out on the cheapest/economy rooms, extra R100 for a nicer room makes a BIG difference. Easy for people with pets.
