I found the location to be very good because it's very close to the main train station. The area seems a little bit dangerous but on the other hand, that's Napoli.

As far as location goes, it doesn't get better than this. The hotel is a literal stone's throw away from a well connected train station and surrounded by shops/gelaterias/pizzerias/restaurants. The hotel was clean, staff were helpful, and whilst our room initially didn't have a kettle, staff provided us with this upon request. The balconies offer a great panoramic view of the city's skyline.

Undulating beside the Bay of Naples, this UNESCO World Heritage city is a maze of narrow streets and funicular railways. Although it has an incredible array of churches and monuments, it’s the sheer energy, pulsating life, and buzz of Vespas that really make it exciting.
At first you could mistake this for chaos, but given time you’ll see there’s method to the madness. The stunning, curved portico of the Royal Palace. The perfectly thin pizzas which originated here. The red pepper trinkets to ward off the evil eye adorning practically every old town doorway. All are crafted to perfection.
While all this goes on at street level, below is Underground Naples – a series of visitable tunnels and even a Graeco-Roman theatre which you stop at before emerging into someone’s house!
Head up to the Posillipo area for stunning views of the city and Vesuvius in the distance. The volcano itself can be visited and looking down from it towards Pompeii and Herculaneum gives context to the thousands of artefacts now on display in the city’s National Archaeological Museum.
As for accommodation, Booking.com has a wealth of hotels near Naples Airport, old town B&Bs, city centre apartments and more to help you make the most of your stay.
Naples is a busy, bustling city, plenty to see and do.
Naples is a busy, bustling city, plenty to see and do. We had a short 3 day stay which give us a flavour of the place. Once you’ve acclimatised to all the scooters, cars and pedestrians jostling for space on the narrative cobbled streets it’s a great place to explore. Also football/soccer and Maradona are very popular in Naples..

The old architecture, many monuments, natural beauties, the beauty of nearby islands. Transportation was good and cheap.
I didn't like it: the city is terribly dirty, there are many and violent sellers and suspicious people.

I have stated that the photos of the accommodation in old town Naples was not accurate. The photos did not reflect the exceptional quality of this renovated modern accommodation or the care the owner showed in her welcome, in one of the very old buildings of this part of Naples. It was small but perfect for a loving couple or single traveller. This is the only slot where I can state how wonderful this property is in a higgeldy-piggedly city of such vibrant character. People were helpful in the street helping me find the accommodation in the labyrinth of old streets. A famous pizza restaurant is just thirty meters away. The archaeological museum is less than a kilometre away. Easy transport to the airport. Would not avoid Naples but embrace its eccentricities. Pompei was overwhelming.

When we walked from the train station to the hotel we were filled with trepidation, much of the city is worn and dirty. However, the people were great and it was exciting to be there. We wished we could have stayed longer, just walking the streets was a thrill.

Avoid Cla.Pa Group when staying in Naples.
Avoid Cla.Pa Group when staying in Naples. The city is exquisite so do ruin the experience staying at such a bad chain of properties. I've written a LinkedIn review to help other travellers see how bad this company is https://www.linkedin.com/avoidclapagroup We do recommend Hotel Decumani De Charme, we recommend staying central as you can enjoy many cheap eats and so much is a walking distance. I loved the castle, the Umberto Galleria and the view of Vesuvius, we caught the train to Pompeii but you can walk to Pompeii ruins from the train station, no need for the shuttle.

The walking to discover varied areas in Naples - a crazy but stimulating city.
The worst is the traffic- no respect for pedestrians even on pedestrian crossings.
Beware the overpricing taxi drivers. Better to walk everywhere.
Location was excellent to walking around the city. It was a 5-6 minute walk from the Universite Metro station and from the hotel we were able to walk all over the town. We had an early flight so they helped us call an early cab and even packed a small breakfast to go which was a very nice touch. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly. The hotel and rooms were modern and clean and updated. The bed was the more comfortable we had in our entire 2 week stay throughout Italy! Recommend as a good value for what you're getting.
The hotel - and staff - were exactly what we needed after a difficult travel morning. Gennaro was as hospitable, friendly, and helpful as anyone we met in Italy. I have to say too, that he knew as much about North American culture as we did! The location was perfect, particularly for people new to the vibrancy and bustle of Naples. The hotel itself is charming, tucked away just a little off the bustle of the city, but step out of the courtyard and you are on the street and in the middle of wonderful, crazy, Napoli.
Very neat and comfortable accommodation. The owner of the accommodation is a wonderful, pleasant woman who is ready to help and resolve any requests. Everything you need is in the room. The air conditioner saved us in the days of terrible heat outside! 😄
A huge terrace with deckchairs and a table with a view of Naples and Vesuvius will steal your hearts! ❤️
Near the accommodation there is everything you need: shops, markets, a kiosk with metro tickets, a pizzeria and the tastiest grilled chickens in Italy!)
The room was easy enough to find, look for a small blue sign on the gate post outside where they will meet you on arrival. A short walk to lots of great restaurants and bars, along with amazing shopping.
The breakfast in Italy consists of croissant and coffee - so don’t be expecting anything savoury. This hotel uses a local bar 200 meters away which you take a token to for complimentary coffee and croissant. Tip - just sit down outside they will serve you - show them the voucher when you arrive.
If you want to feel the real Naples, you have to stay at this place. 2 minutes away from the main street, but enough of a walk to feel and hear the real Italy. People cheering at a football game, a wife shouting at her husband and people navigating the narrow streets on scooters. It’s amazing!
The host was magnificent too. He’s ready to help at any time with everything.
Thanks for everything and we’re definitely staying there when coming back to Naples!
Great location in the heart of the historical area. Anyone visiting Napoli should first watch Searching for Italy: Stanley Tucci in Naples and the Amalfi Coast. This will get you in the right frame of mind for Napoli and will help you appreciate this location. Bright & spacious B&B. Be sure to have earplugs because, like I said, you are in the heart of it. But with earplugs you will be fine. Embrace the city!
The space is interesting & beautiful. Definitely a great value too! Our host Pina was so available & attentive to any questions. We felt like she's a distant relative wanting us to have the best travel experience. Our room actually had better amenities than many of the hotel rooms through our Italy travels with coffee & tea makers as well as small fridge with cool filtered water waiting : )
This is a superb place. We were warmly welcomed by the staff, who were friendly and very attentive to every need. Gorgeous decor, very comfortable room and bed and spectacular bathroom. Cool and relaxing place to return to after sightseeing. Highly recommend, the nicest place we've stayed in Italy. Like a five star hotel, the staff are awesome! Thank you for all your kindness.
Great location, close to the train station and airport. Excellent pizza nearby. We really appreciated the easy check-in process and our host went above and beyond! He was able to arrange a taxi for us very early in the morning, so we could make our flight out of Naples. We also left some items behind and he posted them to our final hotel in Italy. We were very grateful!
Sergio is a fantastic host. The busyness of Naples was great to be part of but to be able enjoy a noise free space in the evenings and mornings with a beautiful view of Vesuvius was the perfect end to two a week trip through Italy. Breakfast was delicious. Sergio, again was so lovely, welcoming and generous with his time and advice. Highly recommend
Very nice room located in the center of the city, large and very clean room,
Danilo was there for us 24/7 and made sure that all is perfect, including where to go etc and also for our next destination.
It is of paramount importance that the host speaks fluently English especially in Italy.
It is exactly the kind of room you need n Naples.
The hotel was exceptionally clean, and the amenities were great! I was very pleased with the room. Truly was the best shower we were able to take while staying across Italy for 2 weeks! We really enjoyed our stay with this hotel and appreciated the privacy provided by the enclosed entrance and hotel.
Very modern, couldnt find better hotel in whole South Italy which accepts pets. Great staff, very good parfumes in whole hotel, great design, John Richmond toilleteries! Free shuttle to center. Good menu at restaurant, good breakfast for Italian style.
This is a prime hotel and the staff was so helpful, contentious and always there with a smile, joke or advice. Best customer Service in all of Italy as per our experience! The view off the Terrace is mesmerizing and the whole place is very clean!
it was the best experience I had in south Italy, the hotel make you feel like a special guest. All the amenities were amazing, food was great and all the staff treated tou very nicely .
For Naples a quiet location. You can relax after sightseeing in Naples. Comfortable mattresses. For the standard of Italy nice breakfasts, a big plus for fresh orange juice.
Everything was perfect. Salvatore was really helpfull, gave us a lot of usefull tips. Best breakfast we've had in italy and the location is right in the heart of Naples.
