Loved it here - why go anywhere else.
On the stunning Thesen Island where you feel you are in a different secure world. Surrounded by restaurants, bars and boutiques. Only a short drive to Wilderness National Park and Storms River for hiking and kayaking.
The Hotel has been transformed from a powerplant in such an imaginative way . The installations look like art pieces. The place is so airy and looks so vast with the heigh ceilings. The view room our room was just stunning with our little balcony, perfect for a nice glass of wine or Amarula as the sun goes down. The hotel bar is well run and has a great choice of snacks, cocktails and wines. All at sensible prices. We noted other cheaper than at surrounding restaurants. The cocktails were high class and worth popping in each night before you head off to eat. We didn't get a chance to eat in but from the bar food I am sure the restaurant is excellent.
Staff were all super friendly and felt well looked after. The perfect first stop if you are doing the Garden Route after leaving Cape Town +/- wine country +/- Hermanus (if whale watching)
The bar staff member Duwayne deserves mention - so friendly, attentive and fun - loved his service.+

Great location with a choice of restaurants and bars in the immediate vicinity and a wider choice also within walking / short taxi drive distance. Reception supplied towels for our trip to the beach.

A very chilled place - just very serene place to go.
A very chilled place - just very serene place to go. It can be a little expensive for the type of food offered in several restaurants - price doesn't really match portion of menu.
The people are friendly, there's a few activities to do if you're adventurous.
It's a great place to stop-over for a couple of nights and then continue with your journey.
The Waterfront is very lovely. I suggest you there.
The Mall is also great for shopping - don't get lost though because there's about 4 mall/square areas.

If you are planning a trip along the garden route then Knysna is a must visit spot. The views across the lagoon and the Knysna Heads are amazing and so many options for accommodation from camping by the lagoon to 5* hotels.
It is also a good base to explore the Eastern end on the garden route right up to Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth).
There is also a number of fantastic mountain passes to drive up to the Karoo, but make sure you have a good vehicle and a good head for heights. Knysna is fantastic and well worth a visit.

As a place to stay, Knysna is rather small, and moreover less secure after dark than other places. Knysna and its islands/view points can e.g. easily be visited from Plettenberg where there is much more choice in terms of restaurants. 1 day is more than enough for Knysna.

The views are magnificent.
The views are magnificent. The surrounding areas are also very worthy of visits. Plettenburg Bay, Tsitsikamma, Sedgefield and Wilderness are excellent. Something great to do every day!
Knysna itself is a little run down and touristy, after all it straddles a motorway (N2), but there are places that are tucked away which are charming.....one goes there however for the views!
Stunning western view of the Knysna lagoon from the bedroom. Short walk to a view of the Knysna heads. The host, Aneryne, was wonderfully hospitable. She greeted us at the door, gave us loads of great walking and restaurant recommendations. She attentive, proactive and warm. The home was beautifully decorated. We especially enjoyed the local coffee table books. The space was easy going, comfortable and freeing. We felt completely at ease allowing our well trained dog to roam the area. 11/10.
We loved our stay at One on Bollard! The house is gorgeous, the rooms are immaculate and well appointed, and the best parts are hosts Diane and Rob. They couldn't be more welcoming and helpful - they provided some wonderful suggestions for restaurants, and even offered to make reservations for us. The breakfast was gorgeous and delicious, and almost everything is homemade - even the yogurt! We could easily have spent a week here, and will be back next time we're in Knysna!
What a hidden gem. Found this property by accident while searching for accommodation in Knysna. Absolutely loved our stay. Beautiful gardens. Putt putt, games room, pools, jacuzzi all on site, no need to go anywhere for something to do.
Especially enjoyed the long walks alongside the lagoon, spectacular views. Accommodation was clean, neat and tidy. Serviced daily which wasn't expected. Staff are very pleasant.
Interesting and quirky hotel in Knysna. The room was spacious and also had features from the original use of the building and the communal spaces were great. Breakfast was very tasty (many members of the public also come in to eat there which is a good sign!) and the portions were huge. Perfectly located for restaurants and boat trips by the lagoon.
Check-in process was simple and easy.
The place is extremely beautiful and huge. The views were exceptional and the finishings inside house were modern, clean and beautiful.
The estate is close by to the Pezula hotel, the Knysna heads, Knysna waterfront, Thesen Islands, and to grocery outlets, giving you many options on things to do on your stay
Nicely furnished bright apartment in a beautiful complex, just a few steps from the Knysna waterfront. Great for self catering in the well equipped kitchen - but also plenty of great restaurants around. We travelled with a baby and received a cot and some toys - really appreciated
A stunning boutique hotel on the edge of Knysna Lagoon with lovely friendly staff.
breakfast was delicious and had a great variety.
Our suite was beautiful and had everything we needed.
We had a picnic on the private boat owned by the hotel - excellent!
The location is very convenient along the n2. Easy access to the whole of Knysna. The bedroom was nicely updated and the bed was nice.
There was good parking on the properly.
The room was well suited for longer stay and self catering.
The location of the hotel is very good, is out of the city, is the perfect place to have a vacation. It has a beautiful view as well. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. I will definately come back again for the holidays.
Great accomodation and value. Beautiful & safe location with fabulous views. Helpful and friendly staff. Impressive breakfast buffet and dinner menu. Lovely garden areas.
I highly recommend the hotel.
Such a beautiful and tranquil spot on the lagoon just by the Knysna heads. Spending the morning boarding was a bonus. Chalets are clean and well stocked. Very impressed with the unit. Thank you.
The place is very clean, safe and good garden view. Has all the utensils for Self Catering. Walking distance to the Shops. Great host and will definitely use the place every time I visit Knysna.
Such a beautiful place - spacious, comfortable, and right on the water. Also right at the Waterfront attractions. Excellent place to relax, and appreciate the lagoon area.
The venue the service and the friendliness of the staff was superb. We thoroughly enjoyed the magnificent views onto Knysna, the lagoon and the heads, to mention a few.
