Italy’s first capital, sophisticated Turin has many elegant buildings and porticoed streets. Large Piazza Castello is the focal point and centres on Palazzo Madama, an unusual structure with a Renaissance façade and medieval body.
The next door Royal Palace backs onto Turin Cathedral, home to the Turin Shroud, the cloth with an imprint of Christ only rarely on display. Its museum is just one of the many fantastic Turin museums. None is better than the Egyptian Museum, the largest collection of Egyptian artefacts outside Cairo. Also noteworthy is the Mole Antonelliana, housing displays on Italian cinema and supposedly the world’s tallest museum.
By the Po, Italy’s longest river, is the Parco del Valentino, a tranquil park that is home to the Borgo Medievale, an artificial, medieval-style settlement with a castle.
However, within Italy, Turin is best known for sport and cars. FIAT is based here and nostalgia lovers can visit the rooftop track on top of their old Lingotto factory, now a conference centre. The city’s 2 Serie A football clubs - Torino and Juventus - also have electric atmospheres at their games.
Watch out for amazing views of the Alps as you fly into Turin Airport. Public transport then quickly links you to your Booking.com hotel, B&B or hostel.
Amazing place to visit. The piazza's are plentiful, as too are places to stop for coffee/cuisine and watch the world go by. We loved the architecture, shopping and museums and although the weather wasn't so great on our stay, the City itself didn't disappoint!

Many opt for Milan over Turin, but it's time to reverse that trend. Turin isn't just an industrial city as commonly perceived; it's a stunning destination steeped in history, once the residence of the King of Italy. With its abundance of historical landmarks, excellent shopping, and delightful dining options, Turin offers a tranquil ambiance distinct from other Italian cities. Its compact size allows for leisurely strolls, making it a perfect getaway.

A beautiful city, less obvious than Rome and Milan, but offers a lot of attractions, both for those who like monuments and art, and for those who are interested in cars or movies. The area is also worth seeing, and the Alps look amazing. Turin is also famous for its food.

Only drove through Turin on route to France. Quite an experience. Main roads can be three lanes each direction twinned with the parallel residential street all meeting at a five or six way junction.😬Funky & stylish restaurants in the old town.

It was a cultural shock to me, visiting for the first time and coming from a town and region that lacks the level of art, architecture, structured urban life, well organized public transport, many other things. I couldn't pick one or two places as favorites, there were many interesting spots, nice parks and public spaces, shops. Turin has rich history, is important as the hometown of Juventus, FIAT, Lavazza, to mention few. The city is overcrowded on weekends, Italians like to enjoy meals or beverages in restaurants or bars. Monday is usually a free day, and placed close for a few hours around lunch every day, so have in mind that when visiting. One cannot see everything in several days, so I hope to return again to round up the places not visited on this trip.
We were looking for a hotel near the train station that was clean and comfortable. This hotel exceeded those modest expectations. The beds were the best we’ve had in Italy, and we have traveled extensively in Italy. The room, though small, was quiet and immaculate. The staff was extremely friendly. The hotel is about a fifteen walk to most of the sites, with a great neighborhood restaurant around the corner (La Capannina). The metro is close by, as well. We’d stay again.
The hotel staff was extremely kind and helpful with every aspects and questions we had. This was our first trip to Turin and we were very happy that we found this fantastic hotel with an excellent location for city walking. The hotel bed was exceptional in size and very very comfortable, the AC not noticeable and the room temperature perfect. The view was exceptional over the city to the east. Very nice furniture in the hotel lobby with sofas to sit forever...
Loved everything about this property from the professional reception and breakfast staff to the enormous bathrooms to the modern architecture. This hotel has it all at a very reasonable rate. It’s not close to the Turin attractions but has restaurants and museums in the area. “Eataly” is a unique restaurant-grocery store that offers a wide variety of menu options. And Double Tree gives free vouchers to the Pinacoteca Agnelli museum - its worth the visit!
The room was exactly what I expected and like the pictures on booking.com. It was comfortable and the staff were accommodating with my late arrival. The breakfast was small but functional and perfectly adequate. It wasn't an exceptional hotel but was good value for money which I was looking for. A number of people in previous reviews complained about the shower and although small (the norm for Italy) it was very powerful and nice to use.
Clearly one of the prime decisions to check in this hotel is the close location to Turin (4-minutes-ride with the Metro). The inner courtyard is quite practical for walkies with your dog. For security reasons it gets closed for the public at 10 pm. There is a in-house cafeteria and you can order a pizza at the hotel reception. The hotel-residential area is nice and modern, but with a striking reminiscence to its agricultural past.
This house is a little bit outside the center of Turin but we can use underground service to center. The underground station is not far within 5 min. The owner is super friendly. He had even waiting us outside so we could easily park our car in his parking. We have custom made breakfast. When we said we will go to other part of Italy, owner gave us more information around that area. He is the top one owner so far we have met.
We only stayed one night for a stopover on our journey to Venice. The hotel is located in the centre of Turin, near the main attractions. The hotel is charming and the room was very simple. The breakfast room is decorated in the 18th century style to remind Mozart's stay in this hotel. The breakfast has nothing exceptional, and we arrived too late to enjoy it (it closes at 10 and you have to leave the room at 10:15!).
Fail to understand why this hotel has a one star grading. I have stayed in other 3 and 4 star hotels in Italy and this hotel has nothing to envy those hotels. Staff are helpful and the hotel is situated some fifteen minutes away from the Royal Palace. Their are two private car parks close to the hotel.
Bed was comfortable, very cleaned, and has a great location for where we wanted to be. Steps away from Porta Nova train station. Turin is a beautiful place. Didn't explore the city. Our purpose was to meet up our relatives for dinner and head back to Rome the next day.
Very convenient hotel if you are traveling in Italy by train, close to Turin station to sleep one night and go somewhere further the next day, either by train or to Turin airport. Breakfast is also available. And I was lucky, I had a hotel room with a balcony.
A wonderful bolthole in a central location in Turin. The room was just like the reception/communal/terrace areas –– immaculately clean, spacious, lofty, aerated, luxurious. Everything about this hotel/suites was top tier and would stay again in a heartbeat
Perfect B&B hotel, if you traveling in Italy using train, and you must stay for 1 night in Torino. Comfortable room in retro building. Close to B&B Lisa is Mini Market. Breakfast - program minimum, but we were also offered salty: prosciutto and cheese.
Very helpful staff, great location (close to 2 metro stations - 4min walking distance - which makes it easy to go to the center), and great money value. It’s my second time in Tourist Hotel and will sure repeat it upon my next visit to Turin.
This place was like a hotel! So clean and new with nice amenities. I really recommend staying here. I met some cool people and had a get time in my spontaneous trip to Turin.
Everything. Location between Schina and Principi d'Acaja stops and 15 mins walk away from Porta Susa. Liked the laid-back old style family run hotel style.
