Location was perfect for walking to the Seal Colony along the path and the beach . The front Desk hours were very limited and the breakfast left a bit to be desired . But the location and the quaint courtyard make up for its downfalls.

Enjoyed the whale watching tour - the day was reasonably calm so no one was seasick thank goodness. Staff were informatiive and shared the story of the whales and dolphins. The map showing us the travel route was very helpful to understand the trnech and which direction and area we were headed to.

Kaikoura is a 2 hr drive from our home, so we regularly visit for long weekends. It's a special part of NZ where people and nature can interact. There's something special about how the mountains meet the sea. And of course the fresh seafood is spectacular

WhaleWatch trip was very good.
WhaleWatch trip was very good. Great cafes: Flo and Co has excellent coffee. Sime's Kitchen had great breakfast and lunch - vegan choices were delicious. Tipsy Foodies also recommended. Southern Paua shop and factory highly recommended - amazing range of jewellery, carvings and gifts. Some exquisite pounamu too. Best place to buy gifts in Kaikoura!!
Novel Findings is a great bookshop and homewares shop - don't miss it!
Loved the Ngāi Tahu artworks beside the highway, murals on the railway bridge and buildings. It's really worth checking the "Neat Places Kaikoura" website - lots of great suggestions for cool places and things to do in Kaikoura.

Very easy to find way to attractions, town lovely and clean.Plenty of eating places, ones we used were all excellent and value for money.Only thing we regretted was we missed the Whale Watch tour as it was blowing hard both full days we were there and there were no sailings. Will have to go back again.
It was an excellent place to stay. Very spacious, very clean and the nearby beach and scenery was beautiful. A pleasant walk along the beach was so relaxing. Had a little problem to get in the house, but a quick call to the staff solved the problem. The beds were very comfortable. The location was good - quiet neighbourhood yet just a short driving distance to the town area. Superb experience for our family of seven. Highly recommended for families visiting the Kaikoura area.
I stay in many motels and hotels around NZ for work. This property is right up there for comfort, cleanliness, friendly accommodating managers and staff. The bed was super comfortable and we were lucky to get a room towards the back of the property so no road noise. Apparently some trains went through during the night but I did not hear them. I would definitely recommend and would be very happy to go back, I wish more properties we're like this.
This property was clean, comfortable and had kind staff.
The view was beautiful and location was peaceful. Close to the Pier Hotel Restaurant which was good quality. Seal colony within walking distance. The bed was comfortable and had fresh linen. Nice bathroom and the shower had good water pressure. We had a upstairs unit and it was worth the price! We plan to come back here again for a much longer stay next time!
Very comfortable and thoughtful considerations that many other hotels in NZ we have stayed at didn’t have such as large bath sheets instead of tiny towels, a shelf near the sink to put your toiletry bag, etc. Wifi was excellent as well. Assigned parking spaces made it easy to come and go without having to worry about having a space when you returned.
On arrival we were very excited to be upgraded to a premium suite complete with sea views. The facilities were exceptional! Staff awesome. This is the second time staying at The White Morph, and will likely be our "go to" for future visits to Kaikoura.
location next to the pier hotel is brilliant (best place for crayfish dinner in Kaikoura and always busy). Beds were super comfortable and the overall facilities are great. Hosts were extremely friendly and accomodating.
Very homely and comfortable, spacious with a nice big bathroom. Handy parking, good location. Have stayed in Kaikoura around ten times in recent years and this is easily the nicest place we have stayed in.
Great modern facilities, high level of comfort and cleanliness. Very helpful hosts. Motels close to centre of town and we did a lot of walking and cycling around the town and outskirts.
Good location right by the beach and next to a supermarket, with everything else in Kaikoura within 10 minutes drive. Clean, comfortable and tidy room. Staff were friendly and helpful.
great value for money - cheapest option on booking.com, help yourself breakfast included, very clean, all you needed and balcony to eat breakfast on with 180 sea views
will be back
Gorgeous studio, just like on the pictures. Very smooth check-in, and very close ride to the main street and promenade. We absolutely loved Kaikoura, wished we stayed longer!
the backyard and its view of Kaikoura Mtns was unmatched. Dennis gave us a tour of the farm animals and gardens. He and Ann made us a generous and tasty breakfast.
