I can recommend Pomeroy's Cafe.on the opposite side of the Square for their delicious matcha laites. Nelson's many art gallerys are enough to satisfy the most avid art lover with the delightful, meandering walk out through Queens Gardens to Nelson's Suter Art Gallery and cafe, always a highlight.

Nelson is a lovely town, with beautiful hanging baskets and old, unique architecture, close to Tahunanui beach, which is lovely. The Saturday market is great and wandering around Nelson town is fun, there are some good small specialty shops. I enjoyed the museum and the Suter Art Gallery and Queens Gardens. It is also a great base to visit both the Marlborough and the Tasman regions.

The Art and Crafts I saw were excellent.
The Art and Crafts I saw were excellent. The Suter Gallery was a highlight, and I enjoyed the Cathedral. I really enjoyed the walk up to "the centre of N.Z" and the views from there. I had some very good food and liked looking at the architecture - e.g the villas and transitional villas in The Brook. Founders Park and Miyazu Japanese Garden were great. Also, having a craft beer at "The Free House", a church that has been converted into a drinking place( and painted with fun colours) was wonderful.

Friendliness and facilities were so nice.We had a lovely balcony with table and chairs.Near the beach. The lady I Ispoke to on the phone requesting a bath also came to greet us and she remembered me from our phone call and said enjoy your bath you deserve it. She must have remembered when I spoke to her previously we were going to be tired as we had come from a month of entertaining friends and family. This got us off to a great start. Then we were so happy to see how lovely our unit was.A Wonderful stay
The hosts were exceptional in their helpfulness, even before our arrival. Home was beautifully restored Victorian era, filled with art of many kinds. The hosts knew a great deal about every piece of their art. It was about a 5 minute walk to town center, so location was great. Breakfast was varied and delicious. Our hosts even drove us to the airport for our flight out! Such kindness is seldom seen. We very much liked Nelson’s personality, probably largely influenced by the efforts of Ray and Jules.
A very interesting option within Nelson. The hotel is part of a bigger resort area with a the feel of a classic European village. We stayed on two separate occasions, before and after a multi-day trip through the Abel Tasman national park. The staff enabled us to take our room keys after normal check-in time. The rooms vary a lot in size but are always clean. A big plus is the proximity to Nelson airport, we were able to walk there with our luggage and could thus avoid the taxi fair.
Great location near the heart of Nelson with a lovely backyard and very friendly and knowledgeable hosts. The apartment that we rented out was spacious, perfectly clean, and nicely furnished including up to date amenities.
The delicious breakfast is freshly cooked by Mark, the host, and served in the main house's dining room. Speaking of which, the furnishing of the main house is impressive to say the least, with something interesting to see everywhere you look.
Truly, this studio was a bit of heaven on earth. The location is exceptionally beautiful with the views over the bay. Having breakfast with those views was amazing. The hottub was great after a long day of hiking. The hosts are really friendly and like to talk about the neighborhood. You also get greeted by their cat Pablo. Would definitely go there again if we ever visit Nelson again. 11/10 would recommend
Hey, I allmost never wrote any feed back, but Honeysuckle Hostel was special for me. The owner it is such a simpatic aged man and seems run this hostel at his own. Everything here was easy going in Diy, family style. Perfect fits to me.. It really takes me to the friendly mood of Nelson town.
Btw. It has really nice small garden, and you can also use some herbs for your cooking 👌🤌
We really enjoyed the property gardens, outdoor seating areas, the attached pub and restaurant, and the paved walkways on the peninsula. The ambiance of the old English style was beautiful. We greatly appreciated the option to purchase a late check-out. We easily walked to the airport from the hotel with a rolling suitcase.
Convenient to walk into all the best spots in Nelson and the couple who run the place are helpful and kind. The rooms had a place to lounge outside the bedroom and the kitchen was fully equipped with everything you need. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
a good place to stay for a night or two if you're passing through nelson! the bar and courtyard both had really nice outdoor spaces! the facilities were okay! the staff was super nice and very helpful when it came to getting around the town!
Great location for traveling to Nelson and Appleby. Two lovely coffee shops across the road to get breakfast. Also, can walk to Car Musuem which is 20 mins away or 4 mins by car. Would definitely stay again. Hotel was clean and comfortable.
It looked attractive from the outside but the inside was amazing. Stylish and elegant and extremely comfortable the room was worthy of a 5 star hotel. The facilities were great, clean and modern.
Super clean, and the owners were very friendly and delightful. It's a quick 10-minute walk to the town center. Very convenient. Would highly recommend The Sails to anyone visiting Nelson.
Room was exceptionally clean and modern, staff was wonderful and location walking distance from best part of town. I will definitely stay here when I visit Nelson again.
We stayed here for a couple of days when visiting Nelson and the hotel was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We would definately stay here again
