Units are a bit dated. They need a freshening up. You pay a high price for the location which is good but the units good have been a lot nicer. Really comfy and roomy bed but we had to pay extra for this - overall worked out very expensive. Drive in entrance cracked and broken could be a problem if walking back to your room at night. Also parking area surface needs attention. We don't feel as if Suncourt put a lot of money into the upkeep of the property.

The local buses need to run later into the nighttime.
The local buses need to run later into the nighttime. Restaurant and Fast Food place sort of central in about 4 blocks. Huka Falls Jet and Rapid Jet need to consider a shuttle service from downtown Taupo because it is dare for a Uber ride and even darer for a Taxi. My favourite place to eat was Portofino Taupo, their service was exceptional.CameronNew Zealand - 10Scored 10

A fabulous place to stay and explore we did a cruise on Lake Taupo I highly recommend on the Ernest Kemp .We visited the Huka falls which was an amazing experience. Taupo is easy to get around walking or driving and there’s lots of great shopping. We ate at a waterfront restaurant “ Lone Star “which have specials at lunchtime ,steak was awesome. We enjoyed “ Lotus Thai” fabulous food , good service staff very friendly a great night . Lake Taupo is a must see experience 😁JeanetteAustralia - 10Scored 10
So many really good restaurants and cafes.
So many really good restaurants and cafes. Mini Golf and Golf at the main courses are always a must for us and we have visited all courses including the beautiful Wairekei Course many times before. Retailers are always very warm and helpful and good walking paths around the lake. Scenery also really good, especially in the winter months with the snow capped mountains. Sailing on the lake is a must do activity but do dress for the occasion. he town has some interesting features and is well worth walking around. Look out for the Superloo and the DC-3 at a well known eatery. Don't miss the wool shop for some great items that are locally made. Search out the Huka Falls and all the volcanic activity above the town. Spend some time exploring the scenery by car or on foot. Learn how to pronounce the name of the town before you leave.

My family and I also really enjoyed our whole room and how homey it felt, especially how comfortable our beds were. Overall I would say that our stay at the Twin Peaks Inn made our little trip more special and memorable.
