The breakfast was amazing, we also had room service the night we arrived and it exceeded our expectations both in quality and quantity.

Staff was nice - well the night staff and security, but the morning staff was rude
Marina Hotel overlooks the picturesque Shelter Bay Marina at the edge of the Fort San Lorenzo National Park. It has a sun deck and a hot tub.

Grossly overpriced, like everything else at Shelter Bay
Room is small, bathroom tiny, no hot water in the shower.
Free breakfast minimal but good orange juice and greatly helped by extra scrambled eggs
Service variable

Very nice apartment in Sabanitas for the night. Nidis was an excellent hostess and super helpful. No restaurants nearby, so she recommended Terazza de Sabanitas, a small mall with several restaurants, including Restaurante Oceania, with good seafood. The taxi ride to the mall was $1.50. She also arranged a taxi ride to Portobelo at a very reasonable rate, and it was worth it, much nicer than taking the bus.

I booked a room at the Andres Hotel, mainly because of a train ride.
I was thinking of going for one day from PANAMA CITY to Colon, by train with the Panama Canal Train.
Unfortunately, I found out that this train is inactive since the Corona.
If the train ride is not yet available,
Or if you are not going to visit around Colon, and are not interested in the duty free zone, then you can skip Colon. I was warned by the locals, to be careful
If you decide to visit Colon, stay at the ANDRES Hotel

Colon is not a nice city and I cannot recommend it to others. I felt very threatened there. It is dirty and noise, huge amounts of litter everywhere. Huge numbers of homeless and mentally ill people living on the street.
I could not find anything to visit. There are very few restaurants that cater for tourists. I just wanted to leave.

Colon is a great city, the one I was born in.
Colon is a great city, the one I was born in. Although a little rundown in some areas, mainly the center, the outskirt of the city has a better appearance. Overall, the people are very warm and appreciate visitors coming into their city

A beautiful well planned city that is been redeveloped.
A beautiful well planned city that is been redeveloped. All new streets
new sewage system and other improvements that will make it the best in the country. If I was a real estate developer there is nothing but opportunity here. It looks ruff now but the early bird gets the worm.

Colon is a place where you don't want to go unless you have very serious reasons. The place looks like a city which has been abandoned a few decades ago, and now only the lost souls are living there again.

City of colon is not really a place for most people.
City of colon is not really a place for most people. It’s is quite literally falling down. The local people are wonderful despite the fact that they live mostly in squalor. Most travelers here are only here for the Free Trade Zone
I used this hotel for one night prior to my cruise. Convenient location near an excellent local restaurant (Hudson’s) and the best Panaderia in Colon (Panaderia Colon). Staff was very nice and helpful. An armed guard is stationed at the only hotel entrance, so I felt safe. Colon is rough, but I’d use this hotel again without hesitation.
It was okay for 1 night stay. The staff and security guy tried to be helpful.
We arrived at night the whole city looked sketchy, we were worried about parking outside on the street as there was not garage. The car was in one piece the next morning, the security guy reassured he would keep an eye.
Everything was great! The place is build with guest's comfort above all in mind.
I've been a camper since I was 15 and I camped in over a dozen countries. This was the first time ever that I saw a 5-star hotel bathroom "in the jungle."
Althought this hotel is in a lovely location, what really made it great was the staff. Jose Enrique and Jose Frias were incredibyl kind and coordinated everything we wanted to do, and Pabon was an unbelievably great chef.
It is hard to rate this hotel as we were told when we got there our room was not available. We were shuttled to another hotel. It did all work out the next day and the hotel is within walking distance of the cruise port.
I enjoy staying here. My go to actually. 10 minutes walk into colon and less than 5 minutes to Cuatro Alto(local mall) in a cab. Free entry into the Free Zone and a pool area to kick back and relax.
Didn’t eat breakfast as we stayed at this property because it was close to pier and we were getting on the ship that day. Found out we could board early so left hotel early.
I went to several hotels in Colon before finally booking this on booking.com and it’s definitely the best one in the city! comfy beds and nice staff and very clean.
