I made the mistake of visiting Chengdu when it was SNOWING and Wet Snow / Icy Rain drizzling for a few days in January 2024. That kind of (very rare) weather kills everything touristy in Chengdu: Most hotels have no heater. You need to use the AC......after one night's AC blowing, I woke up with a bad cough and developed a bad cold soon afterward. One tip: Ask your hotel for a movable heater for your room: Much better than using the AC.

Sichuan is well worth visiting and Chengdu, the capital, has an interesting history. The people are very friendly and there are plenty of places in and around the city to explore. The metro is excellent and the restaurants plentiful. Wouldn't go to the giant Panda Breeding Base if I visited again - very crowded and in January crowded but very little to see and parts of the centre shut and locked. Although the site is enormous, and it would take at least a day of walking to get around the whole place, there are I believe better and more intimate Panda centres in the area.

Interesting and culturally rich.
Interesting and culturally rich. Clean and technologically advance.
Friendly people and a safe country to visit and walk around.
Very affordable food.
However, everything will be in chinese, the signages, the menu and the language spoken. It was really challenging for non mandarin speakers to communicate there.
Not a place to shop though, cannot compare with Bangkok or Beijing.
The Panda Base is not worth a visit if you want to catch Pandas, because they will be either hiding or sleeping. However, that attractions have many instagram worthy spots to take pictures.
Kwan Chai alley is a must!! with very affordable opera shows.

Chengdu is a busy and popular travel destination in China.
Chengdu is a busy and popular travel destination in China. The museums are impressive and have amazing cultural relics. It can be hard to get a booking to visit a museum, the booking process can be difficult (mostly online via wechat). Some places in the city are very crowded, keep that in mind.

Chengdu is the capital city of Sichuan know for spicy...
Chengdu is the capital city of Sichuan know for spicy Hotpots and pandas mainly. It’s a city that never sleeps with every possible entertainment you care to think of. Restaurants of every type, bars, clubs, spas, shopping centres and oodles of culture. What’s not to love?
It’s reputed that Chengdu has the most beautiful women and wherever you look serenity abounds in stylish attires appropriate to the sultry heady heat of summer.
I stayed one night in the dorm and it was as expected. The room had four bunks with bathroom and shower attached. The bunk was fair, not a bad mattress. A curtain blocks out most light so you can get some sleep if others are up. The bar downstairs is nice, good place to relax morning or evening. A little loud in the bar at night, but couldn’t be heard from my room. Washer and dryer on site was nice, and not too expensive to use. Most staff were friendly and helpful. Would stay again if in Chengdu for a night.
The staff is very attentive and helpful and speak English well. Excellent location near the subway, street food and outdoor mall. The location was better than I realized after changing hotels. With that said, pay a little extra and go for the private room. It would be a better experience.
I liked the privacy curtain in the bed and it was a relatively comfortable mattress. Charging outlets and night light in the bed were very convenient. The laundry is a great amenity and the reason I chose the hotel.
Outstanding nice interior and a warm atmosphere welcomes you at the hotel. A place where you can stay and also read books, do Chinese writing using a traditional pen or drink tea. On top floor there is also a nice garden where you can sit outside and drink a tea.
Rooms are very nice decorated, clean and quiet. Bed very comfortable.
Staff welcomes you very friendly, takes care of you and helps you in case you have questions or need advise about Chengdu.
My favorite Chengdu hotel for sure!
I like the location, the cost, and the amenities. I wasn't expecting such a large room. It was impeccable. I didn't even need any of the luxuries of my room but it sure was nice and comfortable. Location was important to me. I think there are other hotels like the JW Marriot, Crown, maybe another one or two that are in the basic vicinity that would have all worked. I liked that the unit had a washing machine. I was able to do laundry the day before checking out, so no stinky luggage!
The hotel is located on a kind of small island, surrounded by river and park. Quiet and there is space for a walk, free and convenient parking. Staff is super good. Buffet breakfast is good 8/10 compared to others branded hotels, rooms are clean, has bathroom. We paid around 70 usd per night, very good value for that price. Some hotels for 100 us in China are worse. Great territory an can have breakfast outside.
Excellent location. Connection with Subway Line 1, many Bus Lines and next to Chengdu South Station. Very good attention from all the receptionists. I would like to highlight the Breakfast Service from this hotel. Thanks to the Restaurant Supervisor Zhiqiong Zhang (张志琼)and the Restaurant Waitress Hongyan Wen (温红燕)for being so professional and kind to all the customers.
The Hotel and concept seems very modern with some traditional style elements. They have a little room service robot that can deliver room service orders to your door and a XiaoDu speaker in the room. The also have a little coffee/tea shop at the entrance of the hotel. Breakfast buffet is not super big, but we still enjoyed the offered selection.
The English-speaking receptionist was very helpful. The hotel is located conveniently close to subway line 3, which takes you directly to the Panda base.
It is also near plenty of restaurants.
It faces the river, for pleasant riverside walks.
Even though it also faces a heavily-trafficked avenue, I didn't hear a noise from my room.
Location : Excellent. Subway within walking distance.
Service : Frank and his team are exceedingly helpful and friendly. Room is clean, which is important to hotel guests.
Food: Breakfast is generally adequate. We had dinner at the hotel on one of the nights, and the chicken pot that we had was excellent as well.
My husband and I visited Chengdu to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. The staff at Ritz Carlton made our stay absolutely fabulous. They have decorated our room with balloons and rose petals.
The service was great, the room was clean, the location is excellent.
Breakfast was good in general with decent local and international spread. There is room for improvement in the bread section though , for example butter should be provided.
Direct train service from location to airport puts hotel is good location.
Overall enjoyed the stay and recommend it for anyone looking for a cheaper stay in Chengdu. Great value hotel, chilled atmosphere, excellent noodle and hot pot restaurants nearby, nice walk to nearby attraction, free adhoc evening parties
Great location, exceptional service, cozy atmosphere and the private room was so cozy. Really enjoyed my stay, future visuals to Chengdu and I’ll definitely return :)
This is the perfect hotel for a weekend getaway in Chengdu. Close to the subway but not too crowd place.Easy to go to the downtown just a couple of stations.
