The hotel has a good structure, with 3 swimming pools (one for adults only), sauna, spa, gym, several restaurants and bars and a wonderful view. The staff is attentive and helpful. The location is also good, although you practically need to do everything by car, taxi... as the hotel is not close to the city, but this is not a problem, as the distances are short by car.
The Porto Azzurro Aparthotel, in Xemxija Bay, is prominently situated overlooking the picturesque St. Paul’s Bay with breathtaking views of the Maltese countryside.

We rented a scooter and drove all over the island.
We rented a scooter and drove all over the island. I felt safe. Local drivers very courteous and patient with visible tourists. VERY busy and crowded in tourist locations at the start of May. I can not imagine how crowded during summer peak. Driving with car and local busses is slow because of that. I was sooo glad I rented a scooter!

Something for everyone. Seafront walk.
Something for everyone. Seafront walk. Interesting shops and a great variety of restaurants, cafes, bars. A well stocked local supermarket (Wellbees). Bus terminal to take you around the island (some buses get quite packed, you may have to stand) boat trips, bus trips, everything easy to find. Friendly locals all speak English and very helpful.

picturesque, cool and windy wonderfully wild at times, this was early spring, and I'm no beach lover, but a good walk along length. Transport via bus is very good, worth getting a roaming 7 day card, 25e for as much travel and often as you want, 10 trips and its paid for, the rest is bonus. plenty of towns Sites and cities to visit. avoid the 17.00-18.00 tme, its gridlock, but if you cool about that and don't mind 'sardines' on the local bus, its ok and plenty to look out for ready for the following day. Plenty of expats have settled here, so no shortage of guidance and advice. No shortage of local shops and small supermarkets to use if you have a kitchen available, Wellbies is probably choice in the town itself, a very good Lidl just outside, but accessible by bus on your daytrips..

St Paul's Bay is a very touristy part of Malta, which provides excellent value for money if a little less traditional. However, the public transport and hire car options on Malta (which is a very small island - driving to most places takes under 30 minutes) make this an excellent base to explore from. The bars, restaurants and coastal areas of St Paul's Bay provide a wide choice for all tastes and wallets. Swimming beaches and running routes are easily accessible. The classic car museum and aquarium offer interesting activities should you wish to pay for something, otherwise a cheap and interesting holiday can be had here without breaking the bank. The promenade is safe and easy for a stroll to look out to sea or spot a classic/super car (whilst we were there we saw several Mercedes, Porsche and an Aston Martin) or head to safe swimming areas - pretty well suited if you like triathlon training as there are bike hire shops around here too.

The only thing we didn't like was being invited to a nearby hotel to supposedly look round and show interest in staying there but ended up them trying to sell us a very expensive membership to a club in exchange for them selling you cheap holidays. For our time they gave us €25 & a free beach bag.Thereafter when we declined there offer they became aggressive . I would warn others not to get involved in this in the first place.

Lots of restaurants, some on the beachfront.
Lots of restaurants, some on the beachfront. We really enjoyed the Travellers Rest - good food, great value and service. Easy access to bus depot for trips to Valetta and Mdina. We did lots of walking along the coast.
Definitely not a beach holiday destination as the coastline is very rocky with only a couple of very small patches of sand. Certainly not suitable for children.
A very nice hotel with an incredible skyview deck with a pool and bar. The staff was very nice and helpful with everything. If we had a question or wanted something they tried their best to fix it for us like we wanted. The breakfast was very good and the rooms were big and clean. The neighborhood around is packed with good restaurants and different things to do. If I’m coming back to Malta, I am definitely staying at Mayflower again.
This is by far the best hotel I've been to in terms of value to quality. The pool is grate, the Pub/restaurant is grate. Rooms might use some refreshment but if you are not a person that spends the vast majority time in hotel this is enough. Also hotel and rooms are being cleaned everyday so not much risk of bugs etc. The other advantage is nearby main bus station that will let you get anywhere in Malta at cheap price of a bus ticket.
The hotel lobby area and restaurants were very clean. Room was relatively clean and were cleaned every day - friendly housekeeping and cleaning staff. Breakfast was limited options however very helpful Muslim staff who was able to tell us what was halal. The spa massage was amazing - one of the best I’ve had. There were baby changing facilities in the lobby area which was fantastic as this was very hard to find in most of Malta.
One of the best hotel we visited, in term of value for money, clean, staff, excellent breakfast, location next to beach, bus station in front of hotel for connection to Valetta, Mdina etc. I am not practicing to mentioned names of staff, but Mr Srawan was really nice person, dedicated to room cleaning. I learned his floor supervisor was Mr.Tapendra ...We will come back soon
The hotel room was clean and the facilities worked as well as expected.
Mark and Ildiko were excellent and friendly hosts and were always quick to offer advice on where to go in Malta or provide extra support to make our stay more comfortable. I had a wonderful time with my friend thanks to them.
Mark is a great host. Always at your beck and call. There is plenty’s of space in the rooms. They are much larger than a typical European hotel. Lot of places to eat and shop for food nearby. The communal kitchen is a nice place to hang out and visit with friends. Ditto for the rooftop.
Staff is very kind,
both pools are very good and clean,
location is also very good,in quite area od Xemxije and 3 stations from Melieha(one of the best beaches in Malta is in Melieha)
Appartment is with fool kitchen equipment
The hotel is excellent value for the money.
Big room, comfortable bedding, very clean, room service everyday, indoor swimming pool and spa, nice garden, and beach front, both breakfast and dinner are good, friendly staffs, bus terminal nearby by which tourists can go each tourist attractions of whole Malta.
The hotel is in a town that allows easy bus travel throughout Malta.
I use his hospitality for the second time and I was not disappointed in my expectations.
I recommend staying in Malta in the spring or autumn - the temperatures are then more friendly...
The location was great. There were several places to eat and places to shop nearby. It was only a 10 minute walk to the Malta Aquamarine and a 15 minute walk to the boat tour to go to the Blue Lagoon and Gozo. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Τhis particular hotel promotes parties in the pool area. Τhe rooms were clean and sheets and towels were changed every day. We did not see the rest of the hotel facilities because we chose to explore the island of Malta.
Everything was good. I took the keys from a hotel reception nearby, which is open 24 h. The apartment is quite new and clean. The kitchen is well equipped. Beds are comfortable For the checkout I left the keys inside.
Good location, comfortable quiet rooms with elements of traditional Maltese furnishings, quiet air conditioner, hospitable pleasant owners of the hotel. There are everything you need for a perfect holiday in Malta!
Mayflower was the perfect stay for our first of days in Malta. The staff and all amenities is everything you need. The pool view in it self is worth booking the hotel.
