NH Sintra Centro, hotel in Sintra

Situated in the heart of the UNESCO heritage town of Sintra, the 4-star NH Sintra Centro Hotel offers accommodation in a tranquil setting, offering panoramic views across a dramatic landscape.

Location, location, location is normally used when buying a property but in this case it applies to this hotel and it has parking which in a place like Sintra is a huge benefit. Service was excellent as was the buffet breakfast. I great place to visit this lovely but hilly township.

Valverde Sintra Palácio de Seteais, hotel in Sintra

Valverde Sintra Palácio de Seteais is an elegant 5-star hotel set in the mountainside of Sintra with privileged views of the Moorish Castle and Pena Palace. It features a swimming pool.

The hotel, an old palacio, was gorgeous, in lovely grounds. The rooms were decorated with frescoes and old furniture matching the style of the palace. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The included buffet breakfast had many great options to chose from (or have it all!). The tasting menu dinner was delicious and an evening drink on the terrace watching the sun go down was beautiful. There is a path opposite the hotel that shortcuts the hill walk up to Pena Palace or Moorish Castle. It is fairly rough but fine for those who are steady on their feet. Not far from Regaleira palace and Sintra town either.

Quinta dos Lobos Boutique Hotel - Nature Experience, hotel in Sintra

Set in Sintra, 500 metres from Quinta da Regaleira, Quinta dos Lobos Boutique Hotel - Nature Experience offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant.

The thing we most loved about our stay was the location, the Quinta is a pleasant 10-minute walk from the historic centre of Sintra, nestling amongst lush and very long-established gardens with a timeless, back-to-nature feel. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the whole place is atmospheric and peaceful. We weren't able to enjoy the garden due to wet weather but would be lovely later in the season.

Sintra is a very pleasant city with a small but bustling old town. Restaurants are very good for the money. Parking would be a nightmare so don't drive in for the day. (our hotel had parking) Pena Palace was beautiful, then was dow to the Moorish Castle. but in my opinion, the crown jewel was Quinta Regliera. Make sure to get tickets online in advance!

    Sintra is a beautiful town.

Sintra is a beautiful town. There are many places to see, but so many other tourists it is hard so some attractions. If you want to go to attractions you need to purchase tickets ahead of time and make sure you have reliable transportation to the attractions. Allow ample time to get to where you are going b/c traffic to the tourist sights are usually jammed with traffic. Lots of places to eat and shop.

Historical part of Sintra certainly deserves a visit when you are in the area. In my opinion one full day will do to see visit the park and some of the palaces. You would start early so a stay overnight might be more convenient for some.Tickets are easily booked online and I purchased an audio tour to listen to on my phone. There are are tuktuk or taxi drivers around that can bring you to the entrance of the park from where you can walk to the Palace de Pena and other sites. There are several entrances. Instead going to the busy main entrance I took a tuktuk to the entrance of the Valley of the Lakes, a 45 min. walk away from Palace de Pena. It a beautiful and quiet part of the park and I took a detour to see the chalet and garden of the Countess of Edla, which I loved even more than the palace itself. Visiting the palace involved long waits in line and walking in files through the rooms. Not my thing. The park is huge with a diversity in plants and trees, it has a camelea and a fern garden, just nice to wonder around for a few hours. Bring snacks and drinks if you want to avoid the waiting line for the cafeteria at the palace.

Lots of walking. Ideally 3-4 days to hit everything comfortably. Old Town is closed to motor traffic so rideshare, taxis, and public transportaion are your best bet. Rideshare works to the sites well but can often be a problem getting back

A genuine place to stay (ie NOT a chrome and glass hotel); somewhere that contributed to the experience of being in Sintra/Lisbon/ Portugal. Very friendly staff - but that's also true of amost all of the local people - and we had the pleasure of meeting the owner too. The swimming pool was very nice and of course the view was stunning. We were only a short (if quite strenuous) walk up to the centre of the town with bars, restaurants and of course castles to visit. Sintra is wonderful but you must be fit and mobile.

Wow, the apartment is exceptionally lovely, perhaps the best we’ve experienced in Portugal. Large comfortable bed. Very quiet, well equipped kitchen, very clean and roomy. We really were happily surprised. A staff member was also there to meet us, and gave us good ideas on what and how to see sights around Sintra. Location is perfect, so close to all attractions, yet on a quiet street behind the main square. If you come to Sintra, you won’t find better accommodations.

Room was airy, well- ventilated, and one could open the balcony door for fresh air. Lovely, quiet, view. Bed and bathroom linen were very good. Furniture met all requirements- closet space, room for suitcases, spacious beside tables, mirrors, extra chair etc. Breakfast was excellent quality and the best we had among 4 hotels we stayed at in Lisbon, Coimbra, Porto and Sintra. Staff were very helpful, courteous, friendly, professional and knowledgeable.

You actually live in a palace !!! The big bonus is the peaceful gardens and spectacular views. This is a luxury boutique hotel with only 9 rooms that gave an opportunity to meet and make new friends. We loved the "happy hour" of 6:30 pm and the peaceful atmosphere at breakfast. The staff is very friendly and helpful, but very young, and some of them lack experience (or guidance ...)

The most lovely room i’ve stay at in a hostel ever. Super clean with a great balcony. António was such a lovely host- made sure to learn and remember everyone’s names and was very engaging. About a 15 minute walk away from the historic center which was great (Portugal, especially Sintra, is extremely hilly so keep that in mind). 10/10

Enchanting and characteristic villa with quite some history in the most beautiful and peaceful area of Sintra. We wanted to have a special place for our anniversary, and Chalet Saudade really nailed it. Breakfast was the best we had on our stay in Portugal; green smoothies, fresh fruits, berries, and warm bakings with perfect coffee.
