The place is absolutely amazing, very clean. Stephen, Ngala and Joseph are the best. They made us feel like we were home away from home despite it being a business trip.
The seafood meal chef Ngala prepared was better than any 5star restaurant we've dined at.
The breakfast by the pool was great as well.

Truth be told there was nothing i enjoyed or liked. Next time they need to treat customers as real billionaires not to just use the name without a proper billionaire treat.

Easy town to move around. Not that many pedestrian walkways.
Easy town to move around. Not that many pedestrian walkways. From my last visit(2023) there is an upgrade though.
Need for more coffee places.
The beach areas could be more cleaner.
For coffee and lovely delicious snacks,go to Malaika restaurant opposite the Buntwani Beach Front.
Walking is the healthiest way to move around Malindi, just don't give a visual contact with the boda boda taxis( you will ride unwillingly!)
Avoid the Tikka chicken with coloured(yellow) spicing.

The information on Booking.com about Malindi is an accurate representation of what I found on site. I visited the following places:
Galana Shopping Centre
Vasco da Gama Pillar
Portuguese Chapel
Malindi Marine National Park.
I occasionally ate out from a wide range of restaurants in the city centre. It was quite easy to move around Malindi and I currently have no experience of places to avoid while in Malindi.

Laid back lifestyle, great beaches, wonderful Italian pizzas. Vasco Da Gama pillar and Portuguese chapel are right there. Museums need updating. Not a huge amount to do in Malindi but if you want to get out and about, Hell's Kitchen in Marafa is worth visiting. It is a mini mini Grand Canyon. Karibuni villas in Mambrui is also nice - clearest sea water you ever saw.
Great location right on the beach, the pool is amazing and just in front of the rooms. The rooms with balcony are definitely great as they give access to pool and garden right out of the door. Kitchen is a plus and definitely important here since the hotel does not have any dining facility nor breakfast. The Malindi village is reachable via tuk tuk or a 30 mins walk, there are not many restaurants arpound Diwani hotel but tuk tuk rides are cheap. The room are well maintained and kept clean, and so i the garden. All in all a good experience!
Absolutely amazing experience. From the hospitality of the staff to the ambience of the place to the CLEANLINESS of the rooms. The room was spacious and all amenities are as stated. We had the terrace that we were able to spend time and dine from. They helped us every step of the way even with advice on different experiences around Malindi. May not be near the beach but worth every single moment and penny we spent and, our stay at White Nyumba was more than we would have asked for.
I had a wonderful stay at Saffron Garden. The location was perfect for exploring the nearby attractions, such as the falconry camp, the Malindi museum, and the Vasco da Gama pillar. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious, especially the scrambled eggs. I also loved the garden, the art, and the vibes of this magical place. I highly recommend Saffron Garden to anyone looking for a unique and memorable experience in the Kenyan Riviera.
The personal touch from the owners 👌🏾. They made us feel at home and would go out of their way to help us experience the vibe and culture in Malindi. Imelda is really a special one. Very friendly and helpful. All the staff were so pleasant and really helpful. The food was also so delicious.
I spent my birthday here and they made it super special for me.
I would definitely recommend Lions' luxury Eco Resort and Spa to anyone visiting Malindi.
- The room is very large with everything you need, the bed is very comfortable and it also has a terrace to relax overlooking the pool.
- The welcome from the staff is excellent, in the room they offer you two bottles of water and the decoration of the bed is beautiful.
- The staff is very friendly.
- The beach is one minute walk from the hotel.
- They always have a security person at the entrance.
- Restaurant area very close to the hotel.
Nice Garden and swimming pool view, the coordination of guest activities from morning to the evening,Children had an attendant for swimming pool activities from 10am ,the food was awesome and the warmly experience from the all the staffs.
The Onda hotel near the beach,I will miss the nice lunch.
Definitely a place to come back again and refer my friends.
The place is absolutely amazing with a nice pool and not far from the beach. Meals are very well cooked and portions are huge. Alex is always on site making sure every guest is fully satisfied. This property has by far the best management standards which you can barely find in Kenya in general with very well trained staff.
Very Serene, clean and quiet. Close to the beach and to town. Staff are friendly and helpful. Mustafa (the owner) is very hands on and ready to offer help when needed.
Perfect for a family getaway.
Good value for money with a nice, modest breakfast and comfortable beds.
A slight distance from the nicer beaches and restaurants but transport is readily available and cheap to move you around.
The place is very nice. With pools, trees, flowers, quiet because not in the center and directly at the beach.
A Tuk Tuk to the town center costed about 2 USD, so not a big deal.
The house is very nice,it's the same look in the picture, walking distance to town and also to the beach, the house is very clean,am looking forward to visit again 💝💝💝
Beachfront as it says, exactly what is described. Couldn't ask for a more friendly staff. It was an awesome experience and will definitely think about going back
I loved the spacious room of the place. It is by the pool and the beach is just steps outside of your door. You can walk down the beach to several restaurants.
