Location on the side of the Great Ouse was lovely. Cruisers and narrowboats right outside your window. Several places to eat literally next door in both directions.
Staff were great and Lily who handles your calls and queries was top notch. Real customer service and much appreciated.

The bed was comfortable although not made properly. The canal looked nice but bushes spoilt the view we should have had .

We spent 2 nights on Puzzle in November - not the best time to stay on a narrowboat in England but the brilliant central heating made it totally possible. It was very cosy and had absolutely everything we needed. If you're looking for something unique and bespoke, this is definitely the place for you. Martin was an excellent host, meeting us and allowing us to be flexible in checking in and out. There were a few little extras waiting for us on board which were much appreciated plus tea/coffee and condiments etc. For our second night, we bought food from the Tesco superstore (5 minutes walk away) and cooked in. It's a shame the weather was too chilly to sit outside on the deck for drinks or breakfast or to open the side hatches but we'll just have to come again when it's warmer! Ely is a great place and I highly recommend the cathedral tour and Octagon Tower tour.
On average, 3-star hotels in Ely cost NOK 1,497 per night, and 4-star hotels in Ely are NOK 1,176 per night. If you're looking for something really special, a 5-star hotel in Ely can on average be found for NOK 2,226 per night (based on Booking.com prices).

Ely is a wonderful small town for a few days stay - along the river is excellent on a fine day and a nice pub to have a drink and watch the world go by. Ely Cathedral was magnificent - we have visited many across UK and this is certainly one of the best - Stained Glass exhibition is also worth a visit. Cromwells House and Ely Museum worth a visit if you have time. Ely Cathedral has the Armoury Cafe which we would recommended for lunch. For dinner: The Lamb was excellent with wonderful food at a fair price.

Stayed at a hotel 10 minutes walk into Ely, the weather was extremely windy but we enjoyed the walk. We found quite a few quirly shops plus alll the usual high street shops, a few cafes and few places pto have a tea or coffee. We were surprised that the local carparks were free … what a bonus.
We walked around the cathedral and were amazed at the beauty of this truly amazing stricture.
We can recommend the Minster Arms for an evening meal, where they offer good food and ample servings.
We only stayed for a day and night but there will definately be another return visit to Ely

We loved the cathedral, which was at its most mystical when we visited in December. We attended two fantastic events in the cathedral during our stay – but needed a mulled wine afterwards to warm us up!
Another high point was the Farmers' market, which had all sorts of tempting foodstuffs on offer.

Loved the cathedral and the purpose of the visit was to see a performance of Dickens “A Christmas Carol” in the evening at the cathedral. A lovely way to start Christmas. A very good production of professional actors. Also went to the market and High Street and Oliver Cromwell’s house. All very interesting and enjoyable. Great pubs, good beer and food within walking distance.
Within easy walking distance of the main attractions of what is in effect a small town. Attractive garden, ideal for a summer stay. Inside, like an old-fashioned small hotel with comfortable public area and a bar. Very pleased to be offered an evening meal. It is unusual in England nowadays in a place in this price range to be able to order a drink at the bar, take it outside into the garden and then go inside for dinner, and still walk into town afterwards. And decent breakfast.
Comfortable bed, spacious. Slept really well there. Almost everything you might need is provided. Milk and water in fridge, and snacks provided on arrival was nice touch. Friendly family, most welcoming. Very easy drive into Ely, even in rush hour.
Parking space right by front door, so easy to unload/load.
Slippers provided, so carpets are much cleaner than you would find in a hotel.
This hotel is in an excellent location for the city centre. The room was fabulous with a very comfy bed and fantastic bathroom. The breakfast menu had plenty to choose from and it was absolutely delicious. The staff were all lovely and friendly and we were especially impressed with Alex and his evening meal wine list.
This is an old fashioned style hotel and I loved it but would not necessarily be everyones ideal place. Yes it needs a bit of updating in places but that was its charm. Very comfortable nights sleep, breakfast good, grounds lovely, great location. Host was great and so were his staff while he was away.
Lovely old building, tastefully modernised but retaining unique features like the old bread oven near the bar. Very friendly and helpful staff, quickly changed our bed arrangement on arrival.
The full English breakfast was the best ever, with home made spicy black pudding to die for 😉
The room size was more than ideal for 2+ people, with a decently-appointed bathroom. The hotel staff are very friendly, and the food at the restaurant below was great -- both for dinner as well as for breakfast the following day.
Gem of an apartment. Tucked away but central to the centre of Ely and an ideal location to base for exploring the town and an evening out. Car parking all around and free. Had a great couple of days.
Great location close to town centre, lovely spacious property, everything that you could need for a short stay is there. Generally very clean and looked after. Easy parking nearby, quiet location.
Lovely clean, comfortable place to stay in a nice quiet area. Everything you could need and some nice touches such as milk and water in the fridge. Peter saw us in and was very welcoming.
The apartment is bright and well appointed. The location is excellent, close to Ely centre and cathedral. It had everything we needed for a short stay.
Everything was so nice and the property was incredible. Lovely views of the cathedral. It was more than we expected for the same cost as a lesser hotel!
