Second stay here, that says it all! Welcoming feel, I called to say I was going to check in late after the restaurant had closed and they prepared a cold plate for me. Cosy bar. Comfortable attractive rooms.

Clean, extremely comfortable in a lovely picturesque location. Loved the continental breakfast in the room, you had thought of everything! So much choice for breakfast, cereals, bread, toast, pan au chocolates and loads more. Loved the table in the room with all the breakfast items put in the night before. Such a cosy, comfortable and well put together room with quality furnishings. The front of house manager was so friendly and welcoming. We also visited the pub which does very good well kept beer and delicious high quality food. You clearly have a very good staff team that work very hard. Thank you for a lovely stay, love to come back.

The Maypole hotel is in Wellow, which is a nice little village next to Ollerton. We chose this location because it’s near many great nature parks and attractions. Including Sherwood Pines, Sherwood Forest, Clumber Park and Thoresby Hall. Also perfect for the twilight session at the Aqua Sana at Centerparcs, only a 15 minute drive away. The food at the hotel restaurant is really good. We also tried the Rose Cottage on Old Rufford Road, which was amazing. Beautiful decor and great food. Booking needed.

We stayed in the old part of the village which is charming.
We stayed in the old part of the village which is charming. There is an old watermill which has been converted to a tea room. We had afternoon tea there & they served the best scones I've ever had! There is an Italian Restaurant located on the river Maun & the food was delicious. The bells of the church ring every quarter of an hour which I found delightful but the kids woke up a few times so that feature may not be for everyone! There are buses directly to Nottingham and Mansfield & the supermarkets are all in walking distance from the old village.

Small and quiet village close to main attractions in Sherwood Forest and surrounding areas. We recommend the tea shop and the garden bar in Bella Vita next to the river and The Village Kitchen Café in Edwinstowe. We did GoApe, pony trekkingaa and story telling in the forest. And a visit to Creswell Crags and Nottingham castle. All were great.

We stayed at this location because of its proximity to the Sherwood Forest Crematorium (less than a mile).
The village of Wellow is very pretty and the Old Red Lion pub there provides excellent food served by friendly staff.
If staying at the Maypole Inn I would avoid their breakfast, which was appalling.

A walk around the old town doesn't take long, but there are some interesting buildings to see. The mill run and the river border a small piece of land where there are a couple of benches. The old mill is a tea shop, which looked very nice, but sadly we were too late arriving before the closed notice appeared at the entrance. There are public areas nearby for walking which relate to the old railway.
This Hotel is absolutely fabulous, very clean, friendly and helpful staff and is ideally located for The Pumping House in Ollerton functions (5 minute taxi ride). We were a party of 6 adults and had 3 double rooms as we're attending a family wedding. I would definitely recommend this Hotel. Unfortunately when we stayed the restaurant was temporarily closed but the Hotel recommended the Red Lion Pub opposite where the food was fabulous and very good value for money.
We became part of the family home almost immediately.
It's rare to feel at home so quickly, in someone's private premises, but our wonderful hostess managed with the first five minutes!
We chose to purchase English breakfasts and they were the same standards as 5-star London hotels.
Two evening meals, based on our wishes were also made for us. Fantastic meals! An amazing cook/chef!!
Hotel was in a good location and was easy to find. Plenty of parking available. Check in was easy and trouble-free. Room was light, airy and comfortable. Dinner in the bar was good, and the staff were all friendly.
Checked out on the Sunday morning before breakfast was open so cannot comment on that.
Excellent hotel very friendly staff especially the manageress and barman that was on Sunday night (26th Sept) that went out of their way to make us feel welcome in the bar only downside was we only stayed one night but will definitely book again
This place was perfect for our stay in Ollerton. The pictures show exactly what the place is like. It was clean, comfortable, and very cozy. The host was very responsive and I loved the tray of 'groceries' that was waiting for us.
hard to beat this property in terms of value for money. the appartement is simple but the beds are very good quality (which is a huge ++++ for us)
with the big tesco next to it, it is definitely a great little spot in Ollerton !
Breakfast basic for buffet. Cooked breakfast should have been included. Hotel ran out of gas for two days so no hot water. ( a v hot May bank Hol weekend). Staff friendly & accommodating. At £86 per night expected better.
Great location with Sherwood forest and Clumber park right on you doorstep. The outside rooms give good access for your canine friend, without having to go through the hotel.
The location and the house was spacious and yet cozy, all the things you need. Good with the dogs, nice little garden.wasnt too expensive, good place for everyone to meet
Hotel recently refurbished to a very good standard. Everywhere spotlessly clean. Good ambience in public areas. Delicious food. Staff friendly and helpful.
great location near Sherwood Forrest, close to all amenities Tesco/asda/dominos etc secure location, very tidy apartment with everything you need inside.
