I usually stay at Tie Dao when I go to Tainan because it's close to the NCKU university and to the train station. You can read my many reviews for more information. The hotel is a very affordable one, and they are clearly trying to improve the quality of the service: they have opened a spacious and sunny lobby at the ground floor, they have hired very nice English speaking staff, they have added vending machines, and now they offer a laundry service. They even seem to offer a musical show for the guests on Saturday afternoons, but I've never been able to watch it yet.

The room was big and had 2 toilets and one bathroom. Great for a family of 4. The two large double beds were very comfortable for 4 adults. There was a 24-hour family mart just next to the hotel.

Anping sights would definitely take up the whole day.
Anping sights would definitely take up the whole day. Tainan is a lovely place to be with an excellent variety of history, cultural sites, temples, markets, and general fun things to do. Could definitely have stayed longer than 2 full days for a few extra day trips nearby, and to try more of the local things.

Traditional city that almost represents the development history of Taiwan city, including the building, religion and the famous street food. Actually Tainan keeps its unique culture of Taiwan city, then based on the culture attracting a big scale of Taiwan humanities and cultures.

Tainan is known for local delicacies, which we found to be true. The night market is not crowded and you can buy many delicious items without waiting in line. The Chimei Museum is nearby and we enjoyed visiting it.

Tainan was awesome. There is so much to see and do! The free cultural walking trip of the Confucius Temple and other parts of Tainan was amazing (Emma was my tour guide- she was extremely knowledgeable, her English was excellent, and she was so informative). Anping area had a ton of culture, a market, Temples, and amazing food to enjoy. I also enjoyed the Garden night market (different markets are open on different days). It was busy and crowded but there were so many great vendors selling clothes, jewelry, electronics, and more. The food selection was also impeccable. I was only in Tainan for a day and a half. I would have spent a few more if I had the time!

Tainan is an underrated, if not, underappreciated city that withholds treasures of different sorts for you, the traveler, to discover. The cheap, delectable street food is not to be missed, in addition to the hot sunny days, which could be a relief if you happen to be traveling from the miserably humid city of Taipei.
That said, Tainan is best explored on bike/scooter, as many attractions are spread out with quite some distance in between. Fortunately, Tainan's government offers electric YouBikes for rental, which could ease the pedaling by quite a bit.
WOW! It needed a trip all around Taiwan to find this gem! What a great hotel, 10 out of 10!
Super comfy beds, I had the best sleep within weeks in there!
A generous bathroom with a cool rain shower and bathtub. Cool city view.
Great interior, very good taste in furniture inside the rooms. The whole storytelling with the sports & games isn't needed in my opinion, but it's fun.
English speaking staff. I would give more than 10 points if I could.
Directly opposite the Tainan train stn (not to be confused with the high speed rail) and a 7-11 so very convenient. Only bad thing as with many of Taiwan’s small hotels is that there’s no lift. Gotta lug your luggages up many flights of steps. Otherwise our room was clean n very spacious, aircon was good (has built in heater as well as humidifier!). They have hot and cold water dispenser right outside the room.
Being a Homestay facilities, it is different from the normal business hotel. It is located near Shennong street & Guohua street with lots of delicious food. Warm welcome by the owner, providing valuable advice on nice food nearby and how to get around in Tainan. Owner provided the additional hangers and towels promptly upon requested. Would love to stay See Love B&B if visit Tainan again.
This place was a pleasant surprise. Everything from its helpful staff to modern, well appointed rooms was top notch. But the included buffet breakfast was quite simpy the biggest and best that one could ever imagine. After doing the temple tour, there's not much to do in Tainan. But it's worth coming to this city alone for the breakfast at this hotel!
The location was awesome. Ho.Me. Easyhouse is close to lots of small temples, shops and restaurants where you order your food and eat it at small sidewalk tables. Starting at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday the nearby streets were filled with colorful, noisy religious processions. We felt we were experiencing "authentic" Tainan. Comfy bed and nice shower, too.
The managers were kind, friendly and helpful. The location was very convenient to many good restaurants and within walking distance of transportation and interesting sights.
The managers operate a restaurant around the corner where we had some of the best food during our stay in Tainan!
We also appreciate the decor of many plants!
Great hotel just around the corner from Tainan Main Station. Very friendly staff, free coffee & tea in the lobby. Room very clean and equipped with everything you need. Located on busy street, so noisy due to traffic, but in no way problematic. Comfy bed. Would definitely stay here again.
The hotel is situated in a central location for shopping and eating although getting there from Tainan train station will require a short bus or taxi ride. I was given the room at the corner. it was large and cosy. I felt at home. I really enjoyed the hospitality and warmth of the staff!
I love how it's conveniently located so everything was just walking distanced. The room was clean and spacious. Staffs were super friendly and the breakfast was exceptional. Lakeshore Hotel will be my #1 choice next time I visit Tainan. Highly recommended.
Although the breakfast wasn't included due to the COVID-19, but we are at Tainan, there are plenty of delicacies waiting for exploring. The hotel locates at the center of the old town, you can walk to most of the famous attractions within 10 minutes.
Excellent service and super friendly staff. Location of the hotel is perfect, which is less than 10 minutes walk from the train station. We very much enjoyed the rooftop outdoor pool. Will definitely visit again if we ever go back to Tainan.
location is very good. Very close to Tainan train station (in the front of the train station, front gate; cross the center/round square). The are bus stops at the front of the hotel. Wifi is good, which made access to Webchat/internet easier.
Amazing use of limited space in a very Japanese-style way. Never have had such a small room without feeling cramped before. The strongest asset of this hotel is its location in the heart of Tainan's West Central district.
Located in downtown Tainan where you can easily walk to all the restaurants/street food/ tourist attractions. The host is super friendly and nice, the design of the hotel was from her and she did an amazing job.
Room was quite spacious and had private wash room. Included toiletries, drinking water, washing machine (but no dryer). Good location that isn't far from Tainan Station and many bus stops.
The room is generally clean and comfortable. Probably one of the best hotels in Tainan. Breakfast buffet was good too as they have variety of foods to choose from.
