Set against the backdrop of desert and mountains, Sharm el Sheikh is a year-round Red Sea diving and beach resort. Although based on an existing village, it is very much a purpose-built holiday town, with lots of international brands of hotel, restaurant and bar lining its sandy shores.
The oldest part surrounds the Old Market, a heady mix of shisha and spices, roughly in the middle of the Naama Bay and Um el Sid suburbs. The other Sharm districts of Shark’s Bay and Nabq Bay are along the coast by Sharm el Sheikh Airport.
The Red Sea offers some of the world’s best dive spots with rich underwater life on the deep reefs of the amazing Ras Mohammed National Park. Other watersports include windsurfing, kayaking or banana boating, and the Cleopark waterpark has flumes, pools and rapids.
Other things to do include shopping at Il Mercato mall and the many souvenir stalls, karting at Ghibli Raceway, or watching a show at the Arabian-styled Alf Leila Wa Leila. Outside town you can go horse or camel riding in the desert, and visit a Bedouin village or St Catherine’s Monastery in the Sinai peninsula hills.
The Sharm el Sheikh accommodation on Booking.com covers everything from 5-star holiday resorts to all-inclusive hotels with pools, and cheap apartments.
Sharm is very touristy. If you do any outings, scuba or other, you end up in big groups that join other tours in big groups, in the same location - very busy. If you stay in your hotel space or your allowed beach (you aren't apparently allowed to walk on the beach or walkway past your hotel property), then it's nice and relaxing. I wouldn't come here if you're a busy body, if you just want beach with a stunning clear water (and super close snorkeling), and don't mind lots of people, this is a good place.

Sharm ticks all the boxes for us.
Sharm ticks all the boxes for us. A cheaper Maldives if you pick the right accommodation. Snorkelling and diving are wonderful. The Egyptians people are lovely, but be aware they are there to make a living too. There are loads of fakes and tipping is always appreciated due to very low wages. A cleaner earns £140 per month! As for outside activities if you want to visit the sites be prepared for long days. Sharm is better done as beach stay or part of a multi visit to Cairo/Luxor. Overall I have been 5 times and would return again. Airport has poor facilities but the security is top. Safety first. Be prepared for hassle outside the resorts such as Nama Bay. April weather was 32 rising to 38 some days.

We liked a lot the seafood restaurants in Sharm - Fariz and Mahoni. I highly recommend them. Sharm has been modernised for COP 26 so looks neat and cool, although crowded in the evenings. Don't forget to visit the Soho Square in the evening with its dazzling lights. The Farsha bar is out of this world. The Heavenly Cathedral is an absolute must - one of the most beautiful churches that we have seen ever. The Bedouin night show and food were nothing special but the kids liked the camel rides and the safari on the quadrobikes.

The hotel s contracted beach, Viva Beach was tidy, clean and the staff was friendly.
We had three or four dinners at El-Masrien restaurant and were satisfied.
Altough the service was a bit erratic, the food was delicious and the prices were very reasonable.
It was very easy to travel around that we visited the Old Town and Soho Square by using local minibus.
I must say that it is always necessary to bargain when shopping and taking taxi.

The area of Sharm El Sheikh is stunning and there is plenty to do. Shop around for trips out as there is a huge price variance between vendors and pay up front as most charge for credit / debit card use and cash machines are massively expensive to use with terrible rates.

Didn't travel much outside of our resort (only a brief stay for 7 days).
Not a fan of the airport - take your own toilet roll!! It seems to be held to ransom by employees of the airport, who expect you to pay for them handing you toilet paper/hand towels, something I am not accustomed to, coming from the UK.

When I got to the hotel, one person at the reception had no respect, told me that the booking was cancelled for no particular reason, were trying to charge me $230 per night, his name was Emed, he even quit talking to me and passed on to another guy, there was another one which helped me throughout the stay but never showed good respect either, or was annoyed.
There is one market there next to the bar, I wanted to say the guy working there is 5 stars always friendly, I even forgot to give him a tip because I was running late
This place is a little piece of heaven. It was beautiful, comfortable, every amenity to make a holiday perfect. The staff were amazing, food great and luxurious. I have stayed in many 5 star resorts and hotels, this place was by far the best. So peaceful as well. We will be back with the kids next time as it was very well equipped for kids. Phenomenal. Exceeded our expectations. The pics on the site does not do this place justice. It's better in reality.
Food is superb, well done to the chef, homemade food, plenty of options. Cocktails are so yumy.
Manager of the hotel is very kind and he cares a lot about improving the hotel. Taxi staff are veru nice aswell and willing to help.
Loved Coco entertainment , he is so so funny!
Theres food all day if you choose all inclusive.
Taxis are easy to book and quick!
Loved it and hope to comeback!
Thank you for the birthday cake and decorations!
Large and well maintained territory.
Rooms are not ideal, but not in bad condition.
Many swimming pools, few of them are with heating.
Not bad Aquapark. During the day you are allowed to use also Albatross Aqua Park hotel territory.
Good all inclusive food, with different kind of meals. Pastry and sweets are wonderful.
Regular bus shuttle to the beach.
Beautiful live coral reef behind the hotel beach.
We had an exceptional hospitality experience and we highly recommend staying at this wonderful hotel.
The staff was kind and attentive in every aspect. For example - quick and welcoming check in, recommendations for trips and commissions for meals we missed that delivered to our room.
5 stars casino, with casual dress code.
Clean rooms and excellent maintenance.
Location in the center of Naama bay.
Location was excellent at preferred rooms location and the staff were super attentive and friendly. The wellness Sellers’s are too pushy though as they were in the previous hotel we had stayed in !! We did not go for all inclusive as we wanted to try the restaurants in the town which for us worked really well . Beach bar was really goood as well and the reef just off the beach was great.
The staff is amazing: people at the reception, our housekeeper (Farhan ,you are the best !), People at the restaurant and bar, animators.. Everybody is trying to help and they very nice! The hotel is clean, the beach amazing.
The room is very big,and you have anything that you need.
All inclusive - 3meals + snaks bar - its more than anogh.
Same breakfast everyday,slow refill
My birthday was at my check in date and they ignored me even i sent a message for booking to mention this point and i remind the hotel reception guy
No deep cleaning
The toilet rush pin was very old not suitable to be in 5 stars hotel!!
We got a skin rash because of the dirty swimming pool water
A low-key, boutique hotel with staff - Karim, Shaker, Amr, Nasser and everyone else - who are exceptionally helpful and friendly. Our room was clean, the shower was great, the WiFi was reliable, and the view of Naama Bay was stunning. The food was always good quality and well prepared. Thank you for a wonderful stay..
This is one of the best hotels I've been to. Everything was perfect. Helpful staff, amazing waterpark with slides for kids of all ages, many activates for both kids and adults, amazing food (and the restaurants are open until late and included in the all inclusive). The room was great. I loved this hotel.
The place was just excellent! The best thing - the presence and the smile of Mahmoud !
It's not a mainstream hotel full of tourists and all inclusive. You feel coziness from the first step!
Just in front of the sea, that offers you an amazing reef full of different fishes!
Outstanding service. Excellent variety of food all inclusive from 7:30 am to midnight.
The kids loved seeing all the starfish an other sea life at low tide
They even shad a dedicated manager from the hotel for booking.com guests.
Food is better than in some 5 stars hotels. Very clean restaurant. Good choice of dishes. Nice coffee. Thanks to chef Mohammed Salah.
Nice music near pools, guys keep it updated, not 15-20 years old tiresome hits.
Great thanks to Mr Haitham and Tamer from the reception. They did everything to make my stay as comfortable as possible. Amazing location and sea view that beats many of 5 stars hotels.
