Phitsanulok is really off the beaten tourist track and therefore unsuitable for those for the first time in Thailand. There are two main, good attractions, being Chan Royal Palace ruins and Sgt. Maj. Thawee's folk Museum. Good for one day in total. Phitsanulok therefore is a perfect example why forced spreading of (mass) tourism will not ever work, it lacks too much of what the general tourist would appeal (enough attractions, lively entertainment, quality accommodation and good (public) transport).

Phitsnaulok a small city in north central Thailand which once was the capital for a short period. The hotel I stay in was with in walking distance ie 20 minutes of the main historical sites. To go to the main night market is a very short tax ride and the same for a very famous folk museum.

It's a pretty laid-back city with most attractions within reasonable walking distance from Petit Paramata. Walking along the river is great and a stop for an open-air foot massage highly recommended,

In Phitsanulok you can see how the normal Thai people live.
In Phitsanulok you can see how the normal Thai people live. People are not used tourists. I saw only some tourists there.
The inhabitants do not speak english. Only the staff in big hotels speak quite good English.
There are Buddha temples, but you can see them everywhere in Thailand. The lokal food was good and very cheap.
I find Phitsanulok a little bit boring. If you want to travel to a town almost without tourist and experience the normal Thai-life, Phitsanulok is a right town for you.

Beautiful famous and revered Buddha. River with cafes a long the banks and also floating restaurants. A pleasant friendly small Thai town with some historic interest and a river. Woodstock worth a visit. Eat overlooking river. Lot of nice small coffee places all over town. The Folk Museum is definitely worth a visit.

Didn't get around that much in town so I can't answer informatively about sightseeing attractions, restaurants, nightclubs, entertainment. Went to an obviously popular Indian/Thai restaurant but I didn't care for the food or the atmosphere--loud band playing Beatles songs.
Not appropriate for a family style dining place. There are many outdoor presumably cheap thai restaurants. Phitsanulok is a family town, you won't find the kind of salacious entertainment notable in Bangkok or Pattaya. Went to a nice hotel and did some karaoke. People I met were friendly, helpful, especially the security folks at the train station. Easy to get around. Taxi's were metered and cheap! Not like in Chiang mai, where 250 baht is standard fee at point of pickup.
Pay attention as you arrive because the turnoff can be easy to miss the first time. Although close to highway, location is quiet enough. The garden setting for the hotel is nice. The garden location for breakfast is very attractive. There is a friendly cat. If you want to make a quick getaway in the morning (avoiding Pitsanulok town centre), then the location on the outskirts is great. The room was spacious and there were many options for hooks and attachment points for doing laundry by hand. There's a 7-11 walking distance from the hotel.
The Hostel is nearby the trainstation, The owner Mark is really friendly and if you need help he will be there for you! He made the Hostel nice for everybody to sleep, relax, and just have comfortabele stay in Phitsanulok. I also met nice people at the Hostel and that are the perks staying at a Hostel. I Really recommend if you wanna go to Phitsanulok Karma Home is the best. Stay there not only for the great place, but also the people you gonna meet.
Very nice hotel. We booked a junior suite which is very spacious. The bed is very comfortable. There is a big sofa and a table with chairs.
There is a fridge and a safe in the room. Water, coffee and tea is complementary and provided daily.
The rooms are very clean. The staff very friendly.
The breakfast has a big offer if Thai food. Egg dishes are cooked freshly.
Parking is for free.
I can recommend the hotel.
I initially checked into easily the worst hotel I have ever experienced.
Needed to find a new accommodation quickly and I looked out the window and saw Polkadot.
Turned out it was cheaper than the awful place.
Basic but nice.
Comfortable bed. Good AC. WiFi worked well.
Actually extended my stay by one night. Easy access from train station.
Everything, it was just perfect. Spacious clean room, good room service. Friendly and helpful staff. Perfect location, it's right next to the main bus terminal. The hotel is a walking distance away from the night market.
There's also a motocycle rental, right next to the hotel.
Great location with many street food vendors at hotel entrance and along the major roadway in front of hotel. Nice breakfast--beyond expectations. Lots of eateries and local cafes next to hotel.
The hotel was good value and everything as described. It is a room for 1 night and staff very friendly with big car park. Room felt like student digs but had air con and good bed.
Wifi was terrible. The hotels AC was old and noisy. TV was ok but dated. No coffee in the room. On the positive side the hotels location, quietness, and bathroom were good.
Quite location / nice garden/ big car park/ Clean room/ clean bedsheets and comfortable mattress/ TV with International channels / 7-11 just next to the hotel
I love everything about this Hotel ,the staff is super adorable ,the hotel is very clean I just love Kraiseng place will defo go back and I love Phitsanulok
