Everything was as advertised. We got an airport shuttle in both directions and he was always on time. Breakfast was delicious -- better than any continental breakfast I have had at a hotel in the USA. It comes out buffet style and isn't under warmers, which others have complained about but I thought it was fine. The pool and restaurant are both on the 7th floor and they're lovely; I highly recommend getting a meal at the restaurant and eating it at one of the tables by the pool that overlooks the city. I really don't know the area, so I can't say if it is in a good location or not, but I always felt safe enough for someone traveling internationally.

The staff is by far the greatest asset of Gree Diamond Lodge. They are exceptional. The beds could be improved. In my opinion the single best improvement they could make is finding a way to provide fans in the rooms, possibly powered by solar. The heat and humidity are quite overwhelming.

Puerto Maldonado is a little off the beaten path as far as tourist destinations go, so therefore it doesn’t have the modern comfort amenities that most tourists are accustomed to. However, if you are a nature enthusiast and want a real and authentic Amazon experience and friendly people, Puerto Maldonado is a great place to see the Amazon in the raw.

Pretty small town, and only visited the area around centro (Plaza de Armas), but it was well-kept and had plenty of restaurants and a bank. Ate at two nearby restaurants (Burgos's and Carrion32), both of which were quite good and reasonably priced. It's also only 15-20 soles to ride a tuktuk-like taxi to or from the airport, and each fits up to 3x passengers if you are not carrying a ton of luggage. The taxis are fun too!

The town itself is basic but it's a great base for many nearby places to see wildlife. There are a lot of great day tours in the area, so you can stay in Puerto two or three days and do day tours while you organize an overnight trip.
Many tour agencies charge more for online reservations because platforms charge them up to 25% commission. If you go to Puerto Maldonado you can book all your tours in person. There is a small street just off the Plaza de Armas with a dozen agencies. Walk around, compare service and prices before choosing day tours. Do a few day tours and then go to an eco-lodge for a 3 or 4 day trip into Tambopata National Park.

There is not much to do in the city itself.
There is not much to do in the city itself. No reason to visit the city except as a starting point for visits to the Tambopata reserve near by. That is certainly worth a visit of several days, Lago Sandoval, Collpa de Chuncho, adventure day with canopy walks, ziplines, kayaks, etc. The three different guides we experienced during our stay were excellent, knowledgeable, patient and friendly. Lots of nature to see in this luscious jungle area.

The amount of unique life in the Amazon, right outside Puerto Maldonado was stunning and our tour guides’ knowledge of everything was so impressive. Did not get to spend much time in town but the beauty and wonder just up the river where we stayed was astounding.

Our trip to Inkaterra Amazonica was an amazing travel experience. Anderson was our knowledgeable guide who showed us all of the amazing creatures and scenery. Our concierge was there to meet every need we had even before we thought to ask. The hotel had very comfortable and clean rooms, with amazing food selections, and everyone we met provided amazing service to meet all of our needs. This will truly be one of our most memorable experiences of a lifetime.
I like the spacious rooms, the breakfast (there is also a kitchen you can cook in) and the pool (in Puerto Maldonado is so hot-that was a nice bonus to cool in the pool). the hostel is quite big with a chilling area on the last floor. it is not a party hostel, you can chill here and get rest.
The staff is very helpful and always smiling. In the hostel, there is an agency and Alid offered great trips at a fair price.
From outside this hotel is not very good looking but the bedrooms was very comfortable, clean, with huge comfort beds and hot water in the bathrooms.
Highly recommend to travelers who want to spend a night to Puerto Maldonado and continue the next day for a two or three nights tour to Amazon jungle. For the difficult circumstances of the life in Puerto Maldonado was perfect!
Thank you Tambopata Inn!
the property was beautiful! the staff was extremely personable, friendly, and attentive. they set up all of our tours, called us cabs, and ordered us food. the dinners at the hotel were lovely and we are not even vegetarian. the hotel is a close drive to town but feels like you’re immersed in the jungle. we loved our stay!
The property is definitely one of the best in Puerto Maldonado. The guide was outstanding; he was knowledgeable, friendly, caring, and careful. A few waiters were nice and personable, but most of the staff was average or below. The food tasted good and the meal choices were good considering where you are at.
This hotel is located between the main square of Puerto Maldonado and the river. The hotel has a pool and a restaurant. Puerto Maldonado is quite vibrant city, different from what we’ve seen in Peru. It’s a mixture of Latin America with Thailand or Laos.
The resort was only 30 minutes from the airport. You could access many trips in the Amazon from the hotel. Staff we so friendly. The food was good and the pool was nice and cold for the really hot days.
Eduardo and Carito care about their guests with utmost attention. The place has incredible atmosphere. I can't recommend it enough. It was the best place where I stayed during my whole trip in Peru.
Sergio from the front desk went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. I wish all hotels had staff like him. selection of cold beers and soft drinks available to buy from the reception
The pool was fantastic, and the staff were so helpful! A great first night in Puerto Maldonado before heading out to the Amazon. Rooms were a little warm and muggy, as to be expected!
Excellent location and strong air conditioning. The breakfast buffet was good, with good fresh fruit and bread. The coffee wasn't great but it was good for Puerto Maldonado.
Nicely sized, clean rooms. Good wiifi and decent size bathroom.
Very good buffet breakfast served on the last floor of the hotel.
The staff is very polite and helpful!
The staff were very helpful, activities very informative, nothing too much trouble. Lodges comfortable and very clean, very comfy beds with amazing views of the river
The ambiance is amazing. Natural beauty and also the hotel is beautiful. We had the best staff. So helpful and kind. The food at the restaurant is delicious.
Very nice hotel, had a great time there.
Good breakfast, but not a lot of options for f.e. children.
Loved the environment and monkeys around the room.
