The location was excellent and my reason for booking San Polo. Grumpy staff, no A/C, no fresh air. The window opened but let in all the car fumes and traffic noise. Dreadful breakfast coffee.

Salamanca is a lovely city and definitely worth a visit. We stayed 3 night and were able to see everything we wanted without rushing.
It is a walkable city. We came by train and left by bus. We used the local bus only once, and that was to get to our apartment.
We were there during Easter weekend, so reservations are important. Great restaurants and food.

Salamanca has a very important role in the history of medieval philosophy, being one of the oldest continuously matriculated schools in the world, where Jesuits and Dominican friars debated about the universe and the rights of men, where Cervantes studied, and where inquisitors were honed. Well, a good background reading is a must rather than simply becoming a passive guest of this ancient city (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salamanca).

Salamanca is a beautiful city for urban tourism.
Salamanca is a beautiful city for urban tourism. It has the right size to walk around, forgetting about cars and walking without getting too tired. The historical visits to monuments are numberless and the gastronomy very good. There are vegetarians options in many restaurants and several restaurantes with vegetarian tapas at very cheap prices.
Everything we read about this hotel lived up to expectations! From the moment we arrived (valet service, check in etc) up until we left was remarkable. The staff were exceptionally friendly and warm and every request we made was met. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The place is beautiful…it’s the perfect place to be if you just want to relax and escape from the busy City life. The breakfast was one of the best we’ve had in Spain and we had an incredible fine dining experience during dinner. Will definitely be back!
If arriving by car much easier to reach (from A62/A66) than other hotels located in the center of Salamanca thus avoiding its traffic. Good breakfast, wide selection of items. Very helpful front desk. Convenient underground parking. We arrived early and could park and go off to see the city's attractions and move into our room later. The cathedrals and other sights are a 20 minute walk using the Roman Bridge near the hotel.
we wanted a hotel that didn’t require us to navigate the streets of the old city and tight parking This hotel was perfect in that respect. Easy to get to and parking in the nearby public lot was easy. It was quiet ,being outside the City center .A good thing since Salamanca is a college town.
The staff were super friendly and helpful . We would definitely stay here again if we returned to Salamanca.
On the edge of the medieval centre of Salamanca and constructed to protect the remains of the 12th century church of San Polo, the hotel was the perfect base for a visit to historic Salamanca. Our room was quiet, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was comprehensive and of good quality. Great hot shower! Parking was available about 40 metres away making access easy. Great value as well as a delight.
A slick modern hotel right in the centre of Salamanca. Just 5-10 minute walk to the main square and cathedral. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The young guy on reception took time to explain how to get to the best photo spots. We were able to park our motorcycle in the secure basement garage onsite. The inclusive breakfast was the best we've had at an Ibis. We will use this hotel again.
This is a large luxurious hotel located about a 15 minute walk to the old historic district of Salamanca. My room was spacious with a luxurious bathroom that included a bathtub. There was a mini fridge, a large comfortable bed and ample closet space. The hotel had parking in an underground garage for an additional fee. All in all a very comfortable stay.
This is a hidden 4* gem in the center of Salamanca. From the help with parking (nearby and reasonable), The service was outstanding. The room and facilities were exceptional, as was the rooftop patio. This is the best hotel we have stayed in during our current three week grip.
Location, breakfast, comfort, staff, cleanliness. Ms Carmen was very kind and helpful. Few steps away from the Plaza Mayor. Breakfast was served in the room but was pretty good. Health precautious observed better than in other hotels I visited in Spain during this period.
The staff was so grateful, specially Giancarlo from the front desk. The breakfast is so good and for a good value. In spite the fact that the hotel is almost 22 years old, the room look pretty great. Going back to Salamanca for sure that we should stay at the same hotel
An excellent value for money. Perfect location, right next to Plaza Mayor. The room was nice and cozy, and the bed comfortable. The staff was really nice as well, and you can enjoy in the restaurant typical food from Spain and Salamanca.
Wonderful hot shower with lots of water. Comfy bed. Short walking distance from centre of Salamanca. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Paid parking underneath the hotel with a lift to access–very practical.
Excellent breakfast; quiet rooms; a staff that was exceptionally helpful and friendly. The hotel is a perfect place from which to explore Salamanca and a welcome retreat after a long day of exploring.
Very central location right next to the Plaza Mayor and the Historic district. Alan was very friendly and helpful with parking and suggestions for earting out. The hotel and room were very quiet.
