Well located, close to town. We stayed a few years back when Rena was in charge. It was fantastic then. Seems it has run down a little and needs a bit of maintenance. Gardens, outside areas and paintwork.

Aegina Town is a vibrant place full of cafes, restaurants, clothing and tourist shops. There are fruit sellers beside the marina selling the most delicious fresh fruit. It’s easy to visit the rest of the island using the local buses which cost only 2 Euros. A day trip to Ag Marina is highly recommended if you like swimming and sunbathing. The last group of beach umbrellas are free to use. You can buy drinks and food from the restaurant behind. They do beach service. Perdika is a nice day trip, especially if you go to Moni Island as well.
The Temple of Aphaia and Palachora are easily accessed by the local bus service. I enjoyed eating at Dromaki, where I had melt in your mouth, slow cooked lamb.

Aegina is a very pretty town with ferries coming and going all day, every day. Its only 40 mins from Piraeus, but a world away from the city. I visited in off season - November - but the weather was lovely at 23*C. There are plenty of places to eat along the waterfront, and it is an easy place to explore by walking, bus or taxi. You can hire bikes too just opposite the port. I visited the ruins & museum at the end of town; and travelled to other places on the island including the Temple of Aphaia, Agin Marina, and Paliachora. The people are very friendly. I could have easily stayed longer!

I Have grown up in Aegina seen it change and expand but it...
I Have grown up in Aegina seen it change and expand but it still keep a charm about it ,where there used to be little cafes bakeries and all sundries are now well expanded bars. The back street now have a myriad of shops and all you need provision wise, the old fish market survives and is renowned for its fresh fish and restaurants serving the same all the way back to Athens .
It gets now very busy at the weekend as the Atheans flood back from the city .the town prides itself on its impressive ancient history and modern cultural endeavours galleries and festivals . There are not the boys on tour nonsense beer bellies rowdy 'go on down it Dave' ! of other big islands which i have also lived on in Greece. the larger groups are made of the sailing fraternity so you may get a group of 10 Dutch, German or English but they have a different and more respectful etiquette, the bars are very much for Greeks of all ages with the tourist filling the other seats in harmony . it can be noisy as the ferries bring in and take out persons and trade all day ,but it settles again as the ships leave .

A higgledy piggledy jumble of small streets with both traditional and modern shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Plenty of scope to wander, too small to get lost in. Pistachios for sale everywhere: ultimately I chose to get mine from Mourtzis at P. Irioti 57, and am very happy I did. Eating: for simple, reasonably priced, fresh and delicious Greek food, and excellent, friendly service I would recommend O ΤΣΙΑΣ (Tsias) along the waterfront. Don't miss the Archeological Museum - it's absolutely fascinating.
spotlessly clean; charming and friendly staff (including the cleaners), helpful and willing,
excellent varied breakfast, and lovely affordable salads for lunch.
Beautiful riot of colourful flowers/shrubs around the hotel - bougainvillea, plumbago, hibiscus, etc - and scanted pine.
Good swimming pool, and the added bonus of a short walk from the front gate down to a little beach for a swim in the sea.
A nice mile walk down to Aegina town, with its shops, restaurants, and yachts in the harbour.
Clientele civilised and courteous.
We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Avra. It is in a great location very close to the port, beaches, and restaurants, and a short walk from the shops. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a cute little balcony where we could hang out our bathers and wet clothes. We ate at the restaurant one night and the food was lovely. I would recommend this hotel as it is in a very convenient location yet not too close to the main shopping/restaurant strip so not too busy and loud at night.
The friendliest and most genuine welcome and ongoing helpfulness from Janis, Eric and the Father of all! The hotel is in the perfect location, right on the seafront, a beach 20m away and line of good restaurants right out the front including the lovely Plaza Taverna run by the Uncle. Only 100 m from the port and 150m from the main waterfront area. A truly memorable stay, and we would go back there if we are ever fortunate enough to visit Aegina again
Very comfortable, family-run hotel. Wonderful location in a quiet part of Aegina town, but still very close to restaurants and shops, and a short walk to the port and the bus station. We had a lovely sea-view from our balcony looking towards the Argolid Peninsula. The Colonna archaeological site and museum was a few minutes’ walk away, and a lovely beach on the other side of the archeological site was less than ten minutes’ walk.
A small but adequately managed hotel. Nice staff (reasonable English communication). Amazing sea view from our room, great location of the hotel, many restaurants and a nice beach nearby, close to public transportation, buses, small boats, taxis, that take you all over the island at a reasonable price. Excellent wifi (internet) service, good size room, air condition and tv that work. Great value overall.
The place was very nice, cozy and welcoming. There was a cute balcony which we enjoyed a lot. The staff was very friendly and kept asking us if we needed anything. The place was extremely clean, they kept changing the towels and cleaning the room, although we told them it was not necessary to do this daily. The location was very close to the city center, the port and the beach. We loved it!
It was the perfect stay. The staff is kind and friendly, breakfast was very generous with homemade cakes, local and fresh products. The venue is well located, a walking distance to Aegina harbour, beach and downtown. What really stole our hearts is the hotel garden, an hidden gem among lemon trees where you can have breakfast and spend relaxing time reading and chilling (or cuddling cats).
Wonderful staffs in a very nice and cute hotel. I love it's old style and how it's just a walking distance from the port, to the bus stop, restaurants, etc. The rooms are very clean, with everything you need, and even little things for coffee and tea are provided, with bottle of water everyday. Thank you for making our last day of vacation in Greece a completely memorable one.
It might be a bit worn and old, but all the basics are fine: clean linen, serviced daily, well-equipped (for the price), and the location is ideal – a 5-min walk from the port, the beach, and the market, yet located on a quiet street.
The owner is polite, laid-back, and helpful.
For those wanting a central location at a budget-friendly price, this is ideal.
This is a great place to stay in Aegina Town. It's close to the port, yet on a quiet backstreet. It's very clean, and comfortable. The breakfast is simple but has everything you need from cereal, to boiled eggs, toast, fruit and ham & cheese. The staff are always really helpful. I love staying here and I'm looking forward to returning later this year.
The pool was very clean, the hotel was very calm and clean. Family welcoming, couldn't have been kinder, it's a quiet spot. I loved the beach across the street. The ambiance was very quiet. Lots of marble. A proper old school hotel. Excellent experience. 10 min walk to town. I loved my stay and extended.
I liked very much the location of the hotel. It is very close to the port so you do not have to take a taxi to go there, very close to the bus station from where you can visit several places in the island, very close to the city center and very close to a beautiful little beach where you can swim.
Beautiful pool to relax after the beach all day, clean restrooms and rooms. Phenomenal breakfast with fresh fruits coffee etc. I have stayed before the staff is fantastic very nice and accommodating people highly recommended just a short walk or car ride to the town of Aegina.
I had a wonderful stay. Everything I needed was available to me, in a clean and comfortable studio with a beautiful view. Friendly, helpful and knowledgable host. So close to the port, town and the acheological museum. I really couldn't knock it! :)
The rooms and Hotel are beautiful, very well maintained and decorated. The Room was spacious and very comfortable. The hostess is lovely, makes you feel welcomed and offers a fantastic breakfast. If you have a chance to stay here, do so.
Very friendly hosts in this family-owned hotel, comfortable beds, and very well-kept. The hotel is perfectly located close to Aegina's center and harbour, in front of Kolona and of a beach.
