Beautiful town on the island of Naxos.
Beautiful town on the island of Naxos. Exactly what you want for a Greek holiday experience. Lots of restaurants and shops. Beautiful buildings and streets, gorgeous flowers everywhere. The port and sea are beautiful and there is always a view. Walk across the causeway to Portara, it’s stunning. Friendly locals! We loved it and would recommend to everyone.

We oved Naxos, the island was big enough to cater for all types of activities but was still easy to get around by hire car or public bus. We stayed for 6 days and could have done 6 more. It was not just touristy, it had local agriculture, industry and attractions. We will come back and hike more trails and ride the mountain roads on bikes for more days. The town is still relatively unspoilt and still quite traditional in its upper parts, with winding alleys and overhanging attractive original buildings. It has an air of prosperity and modernity which has been achieved whilst retaining its character and charm. It is a quieter, less frenetic main town than many on the Greek islands, and did not (in mid-May) appear to be noisy or overrun with tourists. There is the usual line of harbour-side tourist-focused restaurants and bars, all of them pleasant, with some excellent traditional restaurants on the south side of the town centre towards the local Agios Georgios beach.

Loved this town.
Loved this town. Just as pretty as Mykonos town but less expensive and less crowded. Lots of locals, no cruisers. Good selection of restaurants. Very nice waterfront. The Apollo Temple was cool—easily accessible and free. Stayed here for two nights, did not venture out to the rest of the island, and could have been perfectly happy staying another 1-2 nights just exploring the town.

Great island to visit - Naxos Town has a lot of good restaurants, plus a good bag wash laundry service - the Captain's laundry. The towns of Filoti and Apeiranthos are well worth a visit. The island has a very relaxed attitude with none of the problems associated with cruise ships and their passengers as experienced on Santorini. Well worth a visit.GrahameAustralia

We liked the peace and quiet after a day out and an evening spent in town. Irini was a very attentive host and checked with us at least once a day to ensure everything was all right. We did not take breakfast every day, but the breakfast offer was excellent with a variety of options available. We actually liked walking to and from Studios Petros and it's not far to local shops, the buses to the beaches and to Chora itself.
