The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. They helpfully arranged taxis for us to go to a wedding we were attending nearby. The breakfast was plentiful and the pool area was very quiet and relaxing.
Featuring a seasonal, outdoor pool, Marathon Beach Resort in Nea Makri Town offers modern accommodation units with views over the Euboean Gulf, the pool or the gardens.

When you choose this hotel, expect just an OK three star place to stay. It has adequate facilities: correctly equipped room (we got nice pool and sea view), clean bathroom, fridge with free water. Hotel has nice pool for swimming. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and they keep the place very clean. Hotel is also nicely located, sandy beach is just across small street and many restaurants, bars and shops are nearby. Additionally, off season it was quiet and nice, which is also a bonus.
Offering outdoor swimming pool and a restaurant, Nireus Hotel is located in Nea Makri. The property is located on the 8km from the starting point of the Marathon road. Free Wi-Fi is available.

Everything was fabulous! Definitely I will book again on the same property.
I mostly liked that you can be in real greek society.
I mostly liked that you can be in real greek society. It was different experience compared to the places which attract the foreign tourists. It was nice and quiet area with everything you need for the vacation - beach, tavernas, coffee shop, local bakery, outdoor cinema, children payground.

Beautiful place, very friendly people. Very clean everywhere and seems super organised and calm.
The sea is so clear and clean. As well as the beaches. Lots of little tourist spots to see too. Highly recommend. Will definitely make it a regular trip.

Nea Makri is an economic destination: If you have only a few days for vacation in Greece, business in Athens or friends to meet there while also being at the seaside, it is a reasonable place to go. Fish tavernas are as good as anywhere else, the beach of Schinias is nice and the museum of Marathonas of course worth a visit.

Beautiful part of Greece, friendly, most people speak English. The restaurants along the front are all nice and clean and good price. There is no markets to go to get souvenirs. You need a car or taxi to get to other places as there is not a bus nearby. There is a monastery nearby that I would suggest going to visit. It is free to enter and has a historic story about it. Walk further up the beach, towards Marathon for nice beach bars that you can sit at or lay on beach chairs.

It is a pleasant little seaside harbour town. loads of great sea front restaurants which are not at all expensive. There were stalls at the weekends selling lots of knick knackery. lovely walk along the sea front. Good for jogging in the morning.

It's ok for a short trip.
It's ok for a short trip. The holiday city of Nea Makri for sure has seen some better days. The beaches are ok, but the public administration seems to have forgotten to do their job(the vegetation is not taken take of, the public illumination is not working on all of the streets and sea promenade, etc)

This was the best place we stayed during our road trip through Greece. The property is right on the beach in Nea Makri and because it was during lighter season, we got an upgrade to a beach-front room. This way we were able to see the most beautiful sunrise right from the balcony. The room was spotless, everything was impecable. I would totally recommend this accomodation.
This place was simply perfect. I had such a great night at the house and even recommended it to friends and family.
It was the best place I stayed at in Greece. The shower omg - it felt more like a spa hotel than the spa hotel I stayed at the night before.
Everything was clean, modern and new.
I loved the design. And the security system and gates made me feel safe there!
Great location, like a old times neighbour. its just a walking distance to gas station, supermarket, tavern, bakery, park, church etc.
Great neighbour for romantic walks, hearing the birds singing and smelling the flowers,
very close to the beach.
Only 5 minutes car drive away is Nea Makri that you can find restaurants, shops, pharmacies… everything!
The best thing about Villa George is ... George :) great host, who will make your stay in Nea Makri unforgettable❤️very helpful and always there to make you smile. It's a nice place to stay for a few days when in Nea Makri, very close to the St. Ephraim Monastery, not so far from the seaside. For us it was a good place to stay during a festival.
The hotel was excellent value for the money, breakfast good and freshly cooked and plenty of it.
Location close to the sea front and restaurants, pool very good and kept very clean.
All the staff of this family run hotel where so helpful and friendly made you feel very welcome.
Would definitely book again.
George is an absolutely gracious and helpful host. Some of his villas have exceptional views of the countryside. There are wonderful restaurants nearby and the beach is about a twenty-minute stroll to the beach. Nea Makris has plenty of shops and grocery stores available too. We would stay here again.
We really enjoyed our 5 days in this beautiful apartment! The apartment is big, super clean and fully equiped. The host is very nice, sociable and hospitable, helping us in every request we had. Till the next visit here, we will miss Nea Makri and our beautiful, but short stay in here!
Nice and clean studio with a beautiful garden right on the beach. Very close (1 minute walking) is a restful sandy beach. Nearby is the port of Nea Makri with many bars and restaurants and a wonderful promenade. The host was great. We drive 10 minute for the Monastery Agios Efrem.
Our stay at Villa Georg and in Nea Makri was great! Very friendly and helpful staff, great location, comfortable beds, very lovely apartment-close to supermarkets, also close to the beach and just 20 min walking from the Saint Efrem Monastery!!! I loved it, only to recommend!
The location was perfect. It was very near to the centre of Nea Makri, yet set in a quiet location.
The hosts Chris and Sylvia couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating.
The studios are spotlessly clean and well equipped.
The hotel has a beautiful pool and is very clean. The beds are very comfortable and the staff extremely friendly. I left early and did not take the breakfast, but had a coffee which was very good.
Very convenient- right across the street from the beach and absolutely stunning gardens in the front and back of the hotel! We had beautiful views from everywhere in the apartment!
Pool, bar and hotel location were fantastic!. A little noisy late at night but that’s understandable given the location to several restaurants and bars.
