Bed was comfortable and we had friends staying at the same place so the room was big enough to fit us all in when catching up and getting ready to go out.

Good roads, easy to get around (no problems using gps maps) Saturday markets, fresh seafood, close to shopping centre. Our function was catered and the food was amazing. Short walk for evening swim at the beach.

The CBD seems alright, can be explored on foot.
The CBD seems alright, can be explored on foot. The highlight of our trip was Mt Maunganui. The Mount Hotpools was wonderful (pricey though), beautiful tiles, water and view. And the stretch of the Maunganui beach was just beautiful. We picked one far away from the centre (and towards Papamoa) where there was lifeguard, and truly enjoyed the waves for hours. It a great place for families who love spending time in the open water.

It is a travel destination that I definitely want to visit at least once a year.
I would like to recommend that you climb Mount Manganui and take a hot spring bath in the salt springs.
I can't forget the size and taste of Copenhagen ice cream across from the salt springs.
Playing in the water or walking on the beach are healing points that cannot be missed.
Cost-effectiveness of accommodation is one of the most disappointing aspects of most travel destinations.

Beautiful looking place, great climate, but a lot of blatant racism. Lots of indigenous artwork around city was vandalised. A lot of scowls from people when speaking re reo Māori (even with basic greetings).

There are plenty of bars and places to eat, the city is pleasant enough although access to the harbour is limited and the whole place is overshadowed by its proximity to Mt Maunganui and its fabulous beaches.
David and Tatiana are wonderful hosts. They were welcoming, organized and helpful. Our room was so comfortable and clean. We enjoyed being able to use the guest lounge area as well. Breakfasts were fabulous with plenty of choices - a great way to start the day. We found the location great for doing day trips (by car) to Maunganui, up towards Coromandel and down to Rotorua. Also enjoyed being able to walk to a local restaurant. Thank you David and Tatiana for making Tauranga a memorable experience!
My family and I love this place! It’s an absolute gem. The location is perfect for walking to all the restaurants on The Strand as well as easy access to Mount Maunganui. The kitchen, bedrooms and bedding, and bathrooms are fresh, modern, and upscale like a luxury hotel. The parking garage is fantastic and super convenient to the unit. And, Annie is a fantastic, super-responsive and accommodating host. This is our new go-to place in Tauranga / Bay of Plenty.
We were a group of 11 spread out into 5 rooms. Staff is very lovely and accomodating and was able to put us in rooms close to each other. Rooms and corridors are very clean. All rooms are well equiped with laundry area and kitchen. Hotel is conveniently located next to the shops so it is easy to just walk to find a place to eat. We enjoyed our stay and we highly recommend this place.
great location on the water and two big kitchen/lounge areas which were balconies facing the lake. A very amiable place to hang out and enjoy the beauty of Tauranga and perhaps even make a friend or two. the place is older—even historic, perhaps—but seems well maintained. Staff member was EXTREMELY nice and helpful with directions to Mount Maunganui
Location was easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. Both the check-in and facilities of the room were extremely efficient. Spotless, modern, comfortable room that was soundproof and I wish more hotels followed this example. Good parking facilities including EV charging.
what a lovely place to stay, a real home away from home, everything you could possibly want was provided.
Stunning views across the water to the Mount, so much nicer to stay in a real home rather than a hotel.
Highly recommend for business or personal travel.
All units on ground floor level. Fixtures and fittings were better than most motels. Location is great. Bath was great. Toaster / kettle weren't the cheapest brand (like most motels). Shower had removable shower head which I love.
Overall everything was great - we went visit our friend in Tauranga and we chose Bethlehem Motor Inn as was not far from our friend's home. For the short stay it was really pleasant, comfortable bed, very clean.
Stayed here for the 2nd time!
Very comfortable bed in a large sized room.
A great location to get around Tauranga.
Enjoyed the Buffet Breakfast on our last morning.
Would highly recommend this hotel.
Awesome rooftop hangout area which is BYO, was perfect location for concert at the Tauranga domain which was only a short walk away. We had a private room with an ensuite which was nice and secure
Kind, hospitable hosts. Comfortable accommodation and breakfast provided with home made bread and jams. Very convenient for visiting the local area and in a lovely situation outside of Tauranga.
One block away from Tauranga's shopping and restaurant area with onsite parking. The owners were a very friendly couple, and upgraded us to a larger and more spacious room.
