We loved the warm, friendly Seychellois welcome on arrival.
We loved the warm, friendly Seychellois welcome on arrival. The island is absolutely stunning, from the wild jungle and huge granite mountains to the pristine beaches and indescribably blue sea. The driving is crazy - the roads are not straight with lots of steep curves and bends, so drive carefully if you hire a car to explore the island, which is highly recommended. There are lots of hidden gems - we ate at Maria's Rock which was a fabulous experience, and we highly recommend eating at the Boat House on Beau Vallon beach and the Green House in Au Cap. Buy freshly caught fish from the fish sellers on the side of the road and cook your own - it is cheap and delicious. Food in general, whether you are eating out or buying from one of the local corner grocery stores, is very pricey, so beware! Visit the Botanical Gardens and grab a delicious pastry and ice cream from the Polish owned bakery just across the road and down from the Botanical Gardens entrance. Definitely visit the Mission Ruins in Venn's Town in the Morne Seychellois National Park, the views are breathtaking. Also visit the beach at Anse Soleil for the best sunsets.

I really enjoyed Praslin - I had stayed 6 days in Praslin and 5 in Mahe. If I ever come back (i would love too) i would stay only one day in Mahe and the rest in Praslin. I brought my own coffee, the supermarkers are available but tehy had only nescafe, the available products are imported and expensive compare to Europe(butter, bear, bread and so one). It worth renting a car right from teh boat - if you are nor tired (They drive on the left side !!). Taxi is extremelly expensive and not available - for teh New Year we call two number , did not get any answer so we went using the renting car). You need a car and in my opion public transportation is not a solution.
You can pay with car almost everywhere except for taxi (I used Revolut) so you do not need a lot of cash in rupees. Some restaurant they charge you also for service on the bill 5% or 10%.

We hired cars for our holiday group and went shopping, sight seeing of Victoria city and the whole Mahe island and out evenings to restaurants and entertainment. We also did the glass bottom boat full day trip and were pleasantly surprised on this trip to meet his Excellency the State President and First Lady of Seychelles also spending relaxing time at the Beach House on one of the islands, where this lovely couple so graciously addressed the visitors to the island and so kindly gave our group from South Africa audience and a photo shoot opportunity that was the highlight of our visit to Seychelles.

Beautiful island with a little for every taste: amazing beaches (for families, adults and snorkelling), great scuba diving, water activities and excursions, amazing nature trails, good choice of restaurants.
If you want to explore the island car rental (40/50 €/day)is a must as public transport is limited (waiting time can be 30/40 mins - 7SR each ride). If you want to explore the best beaches or plantations/waterfalls/attractions consider a car.

Mahe is great! I loved it so much.
Mahe is great! I loved it so much. Firstly the Ocean for sure, with lots of beaches along the costs. There's plenty of activities to do like snorkeling, diving, surfing, kayaking, hiking, etc. Due to Covid-19 they have some restrictions of course but still you can have a great time there. Restaurants and bars are open until 10 pm, but some of them close earlier to allow their staff to get homes before curfew. Shops, minimarkets close at 7 pm. Wearing of masks is mandatory in public places, and they register your name country and temperature at the entrance in every restaurant, café, shop, etc. to have a track of visitors.
To get around you can either rent a car or use a taxi, public buses are not allowed for tourists now because of COVID-19. Overall the place is very safe. People are super welcoming, helpful, friendly and always smiling. There's a great choice of what to eat depends on your personal taste but most popular is fish and seafood of course.
Just go there, relax by the beach, get some walk around. In Mahe you forget about your everyday problems and routines, you are just enjoying being in the moment.

Everything is good except Food.
Everything is good except Food.
Mahe is very touristic and in most places prices for food are too expensive comparing to what you can get on Praslin or La Digue.
Sometimes you pay 2x but get the same or even smaller portions and lower quality in restaurants than on other islands.
Everything was perfect from the 1st contact with Emma, to the departure.
Ubresh the housekeeper and go to guy was on top of his game. And very accommodating.
We asked to a day tour and it was arranged flawlessly. Our day tour operator Michael Thomas was great as well, his knowledge and the service he provides as a tour operator was excellent.
This was truly a wonderful experience, I will give them 4 stars and recommend them to friends and family that would love to travel to Seychelles
The property is run by a very welcoming and helpful family that add to the charm of the place. Located slightly off the main road in Bel Ombré, the apartments offer a lovely view over the Indian Ocean. They are well equipped and very comfortable.
We wanted to explore all of Mahé so we rented a car and found this to be a great location for a holiday focused on diving from Beau Vallon and hiking in the National Park. But Mahé isn’t that big so we managed to visit the south as well
The hotel has a wonderful garden und our room had a very nice view to the sea. The hotel is well lead by a very friendly person who explained us all about the plants in the garden and places around the island. Breakfast was very good and included fresh fruits from the garden. We can definitely recommend this hotel for a stay at Mahe. You will need a car, though, to get to the most beautiful beaches of Mahe.
The place exceeded my expectations. It is located on a hill giving you a beautiful view of Mahe's coast. The place was peaceful, very clean, and the staff was great. Philippe, in particular, was excellent facilitating a car rental and giving excellent recommendations for places to visit. Thank you very much Philippe! I highly recommend this place if your looking for a quite place to spend your days in Mahe.
Eveything is just awesome with this villa. Beautiful location right next to the beach and the ocean. It is clean, comfortable and very well equipped. Grocery store is withing 5 min walking distance. The owner is wonderful, approachable and helped us to organize amazing daytrips for island hopping and programmes on Mahe. Highly recommend this place!
5 min by car it is Port Launay beach.
The views and the environment are excellent. However, there is a lack of maintenance. With a some effort/renew it could be the best place in Seychelles.
We were able to stay after check-out till late in the pool & use the facilities and take a shower. You can bring your drinks & snacks to the pool.
Not many places in the Seychelles will take a single night booking, which we needed at the end of a cruise. We had 12 hours to kill after checkout and they arranged for us to spend the day at their sister island resort at no extra charge. It was amazingly beautiful. Breakfast was simple, but we'll done
Chello the host is absolutely amazing! Such a nice fellow. Always checked in and assisted in any way.
The Villa matches the photos very well. Its a big space, everything worked, extra plus for the Wifi and air con (compared to other places we stayed at in Seychelles). Very close to a beach.
Hotel is located in a very beautiful place. The garden around the hotel is exceptional nice. The host of the hotel and here daughter were always there to help us and the rest of the stuff are very friendly. Best place for relaxing and enjoying beauty of Seychelles.
The best accommodations ever can find. The host Josie is the sweetest and most hospitable. staff service best. best view from beach and very comfortable. The house is fully equipped. we had the best time in haus megan. definitely will come back if in Seychelles.
Exceptional service, facilities and overall stay. Hotel styling is stunning and has everything you need for a beautiful and relaxing Seychelles stay.
Breakfast is a highlight- beautiful setting, amazing spread and a la carte offering.
very nice owner who cares about customer satisfaction. A typical house gesture, but also probably the cheapest on the island. You can use the kitchen, access to fresh water. Coconut as a welcome treat. Very nice view from the room
L'escale is the perfect place for a holiday in Mahe. It's a short drive to everything you need to see on the island. The place itself is elegant, the garden is very beautiful and the SPA is lovely. We very much enjoyed our stay.
The property is located DIRECTLY at the beach at the most beautiful part of the island where there is much nature
Just a stunning location! Wake up, go swimming in the ocean, drink your coffee and love life! :-)
The staff was attentive and very kind. They got me a lovely dinner reservation and we're very welcoming. The hotel itself was very calm and relaxed, the perfect place.
